Try to use humour to get through days like today, trip to the Cemetery to put flower on Mum's grave for Mothers Day. The sadness doesn't go away when you lose you're Mum part of you goes with her. Fathers Day tomorrow.
Frightened to pick up the phone for fear another family member or friend has gone. Work colleague and good friend lost his battle with Demetia and was Buried this week. First time been to Caribbean Funeral....... Ladies in traditional costume men in their best suits, everyone took turns to carry the Coffin to the grave side, even I was asked to participate given just touching rather than carrying. Very moving grave side tributes by very religious people, then to my surprise everyone took turns to shovel earth and fill the hole in ...... never seen it before as usually the grave diggers fill it in later. Think this was more final and touching in completing the process of burial by placing the flower on top mound afterward. My sixth Funeral so far this year........ so please make allowances.
