Decided to let it run coz extra place race so 4 places out of 11 runners for place part of treble and good chance of win too as horse was backed.... and it was using my £5 SKY FREE BET.
Madea profit at least.
GOOD LUCK with PLACEPOT PHANTS.... I still feel that shortish priced horses in multi perms won't be cost effective , but I'm interested to see if I'm proved wrong. I'd always prefer doing 1 perm with a BANKER, or 2 or 3 in each race.
PS Excel tip.... To easily calculate the number of lines in a perm from the table above I use the LEN function which calculates the number of digits (or characters - so will work with ABC) in a cell. So the "Lines" formula, e.g for Perm1 is =LEN(B4)*LEN(B5)*LEN(B6)*LEN(B7)*LEN(B8)*LEN(B9) Where B4 is the cell containing 12 for the 1st Perm and the 2.30 race Posted by Phantom66
Thanks for this, very useful. I just have to watch for trailing spaces and when I choose the FAVOURITE, I just put an X.
Hi P66. I think I know how to semi automate this. I will try and do it later tonight. In the meantime if you do anything with it that may assist, please email it to me. I will post on this thread when I start to work on it so that we don't duplicate effort. Cheers, G Posted by StayOrGo
OK, I am working on this now, will email you my results.
I will send you the starting spreadsheet, and then six more showing how it should be updated LEG by LEG.
the important thing is to only update fields in ORANGE otherwise the formulas will get messed up.
I am having trouble "protecting the cells", so have put cells in ORANGE that are manually updated, the rest should populate automatically.
On each sheet there are two versions. The top one is the one generated automatically by the formulas the bottom one is my manual version to use as a cross reference check. There are some minor differences in values due to rounding, with the automated one being more accurate.
Note that until the "UNITS LEFT" field is populated, it shows as an error due to trying to divide by zero.

no you were right all along Graham I mAde same error as Phantom
I am sure you don't need to see this, but just so you can see what happened in each LEG.
