In Response to Re: ** SKY POKER TOUR MANCHESTER | LIVE UPDATES ** : What is BB and avg stack? I despise the play unless it's two of the biggest stacks and ICM becomes a serious problem. If it is the case that ICM is enough of a problem to be r/f 99 BvB, then we're presumably somewhat deep (else we'd just be open jamming, right?). We're also getting about 4/1 on a limp. If the opponent is able to exploit the ICM situation to such an extent that you're being forced to raise/fold 99 to a 3bet shove, then either a l/3b or l/c is preferable to a raise/fold IMO for most stack depths where a 3bet shove is a sensible option for our opponent. I personally think it's a l/3b if the BB is aggro and ICM means we struggle to call a 3b jam ourselves and withstand significant pressure if we peel OOP, particularly as we're going to likely be guessing somewhat with overcard(s) to our pair on most flops. By limping SB, we encourage opponent to isolate wider than he would 3b shove, as well as protecting a weaker range of things such as suited connectors where 4/1 from the small blind is a favourable situation if our limps are not getting isolated constantly - Simply put, if we can limp/3b 99, then BB is less likely to isolate us when we limp a hand like J8s from SB in future, which enables us to play that hand more profitably, too. I can't say whether the mistake is raising or folding to the shove without knowing stacks, blinds, chips in play, pay jumps etc, but I think without knowing Sky James' game, one of the two is likely a mistake. I may raise/fold 99 here against people that are looking to sneak onto the FT and playing overly tight with the BB's stack size, as I'd rather just take the pot in the 70%+ of cases they fold pre, and let them play fit/fold when they peel pre and miss - They're generally not 3betting even close to wide enough, and ICM can actually make 99 a not too difficult (but still kinda painful) fold. I also raise/fold vs anyone who is overly passive, as I want to get value preflop from what is almost always the best hand, but they're not going to put the same level of pressure on me postflop and a 3bet is going to be a tighter range, so I can get away with it, knowing that I'm not going to be put in ICM ****. However, provided the big blind is fairly competent, my gut feeling is I think it's a pretty bad option to be raise/folding. Posted by EvilPingu

We have lost heddoh18 in 9th position. In a blind on blind battle heddoh moved in from the BB and was instacalled by Tim Hickling in the small blind. Heddoh had A7 vs Tim's AQ The board ran out 3 K 3 4 8 and Heddoh hit the rail with £1630 in his back pocket. Posted by Sky_SamT

Leon Harris (seat 4) & NMongoosez (seat 5) go to war.
Leon had raised, NMongoosez shoved, & after some dwellage Leon called.
Leon - A-8
NMongoosez - J-J
The door card was a Jack, so that looked all over, but there's always a sweat & it came very straighty for the A-8 but the required gutterball failed to river.

Yeah very fun table to be on and played in a great spirit. Great to meet Gordon who is a class act and good banter with yourself George as well as Sky Mark too along with others. Managing to fluke myself Marks Bounty prize was very nice as well ;-).
Looking forward to the next one. Very well played all of Sky for your efforts on this one
Tim Hickling made it 70k from mid position and I believe Leon Harris tried to shove but was forced to min raise after moving his stack across the line in 2 parts. Tim called and we went to a flop of 5C 8C 10C.
Tim checked and Leon quickly moved in.
Tim snap called.
Tim 5d 5s vs Leon's K 10 with no club.
Leon was drawing when the turn brought the 2 of diamonds.

TheSaw opens to, I think, 60,000.
BigFatFish makes it 200,000 or so.
TheSaw goes in the tank for several minutes, & then jams.
BigFatFish insta calls.
BigFatFish - A-Q
TheSaw - A-A
It runs out with no dramas, & TheSaw has doubled up sharpish.
Heddoh18 - 9th

Level 23 has just commenced.
16,000-32,000/4,000.
So it is now costing 10,000 chips per hand.
The average stack is, by my calculation, around 30 Bigs.
Sky_Sam it took you a while but you redeemed yourself after how long? lmao :P
Leon Harris - 8th, £2,060
