James Martin has a restaurant there, so food should be top notch.
I was told they do an early bird 2 course steak dinner for £20.
If you want to push the boat out, for £30 you can get the 5 course tasting menu, £47.50 to add 5 matching wines.
Star of the show being braised short rib, nom nom.
Quite a weird set up here, the Cardroom is on the ground Floor, but the Casino is on the 2nd floor, accessed by a pair of escalators. (Ground to 1st, then 1st to 2nd). I really have no idea what, if anything, is on the 1st floor.
The building is a reburbished Victorian Warehouse, brick built around a structural steel frame I'd say, with really beautiful scale. A fine building indeed.
The Bar is on the 2nd floor, so all the tired & distressed players are currently up there in varying states of inebriation.
I must point out, of course, in case anyone gets the wrong end of the stick, that none of them are bladdered. Not completely bladdered, anyway. Yet.
DontTellMum & Dog Bloke have taken Sky Sam to a club for "a couple of drinks". They kindly invited me, too, but I just don't & won't do alcohol, pubs or clubs.

Anyway, only 3 more levels (= 2 hours) before they draw stumps for the night.
MacMonster just bust in a huge pot, he had 8-8 on the Q high board but he ran into a very stubborn A-Q.

She is sat next to Pompeynic, who is a smashing guy, & he & MOTHER know each other from the Sky Poker PLO8 DYM's.
Meanwhile, Pompeynic is going along very nicely indeed on what is his first ever Live Tournament, he has around 50,000.
You may be surprised to know that Pompeynic lives in Portsmouth (anyone want to guess his name?) so that's quite a journey up to Manchester.
South West Trains from Portsmouth to Waterloo.
London Underground (Northern Line) from Waterloo to Euston
Wooly Jumper's Pendelino from Euston to Manchester Piccadilly.

Sam promised to be back here in 30 minutes, tops.
That's gonna end badly, fo sho.
Thanks Ger, Marky.
Great atmo here tonight, everyone seems to be having a ball.
Sky Kirsty has 85,000
Sky James has 120,000
Ambo has 80,000
I have exactly zilch.
And so, with 20 minutes play remaining on Day 1A, I'm going to call it a night, as I've not eaten all day, & I'm a little tired.
Of today's 158 runners, around 54 are still in.
Play for Day 1B commences at 2pm today (Saturday) & the Live Update, with me at the tiller, will be up & running around 1pm.
We will try & do some Forum comps & Spot Prizes tomorrow, so keep your eyes on the Live Update thread.
Night all.
