    Update @ 1450

Train has a serious fault which has shorted out the overhead power lines ( catenary ).

They are going to send a diesel locomotive to tow the train back to Leeds.

If this is the line you are taking today, we will all just have to track this thread until it leeds us to the update. As time delay excuses go, BR have excelled themselves today.

    UPDATE @ 1525.

    Train Failure Breaking News

    Change of plan.

The Rescue Locomotive will now tow the failed train not to Leeds, but to Doncaster, where the train will terminate.

Every cloud has a silver lining though - Doncaster is one of the two great Railway Towns in the UK with a rich locomotive building history.

    Name the other one.

Hate to be a moan but is there any chance that accounts in euro will be paid the correct amount? I know its small but it adds up, my £6 was paid as 6 euro, should be 6.74 euro, just would be nice to fix it for future weeks too.

    Cheers
    Ger

    Morning Ger,

    Sorry about that mate,

Have passed it to the office to investigate.

Am actually visiting the office today, so will try and ascertain what went wrong.

Will get back to you when I know the score.

    Hi Ger,

I understand the balancing payments will be made this afternoon, and from next week the data run will ensure those paid in Euros always receive the correct amount for Pentagon payments.

    Apologies for the error.

    Stockton or Darlington

2 excellent answers, particularly Darlington, but you are forgetting Great Britain's premier railway town. Think of the world's best locomotive builders such as Gooch, Churchward and Collett.

It's Swindon, quite obviously, HQ of GWR (God's Wonderful Railway), created by by the greatest British Engineer and Civil Engineer ever born, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

    Outrageous from Sky.

I'd be half tempted to send back the Xbox One in protest.

Nowadays, Swindon is best known for being HQ of chavs. It also took us a ridiculously long time to get a Nando's here :( And we still don't have a **** casino.
  • EssexphilEssexphil Member Posts: 8,876
    Bit of a surprise, that.

Always thought Nando's followed chavs religiously :)
