24Caliber makes a standard open, & Play4Food jams with 8-8.
Without hesitation, 24Caliber calls with A-9, so they are flipping, & he catches his kicker, & that's that, Play4Food is busto & 24Caliber has just increased his chip lead even further, & has over half the chips in play now.
granite89 was getting short & AlanCarr - now to his immediate right - likes applying pressure & cold shoves with 10-6. Bad timing, Granite had the Aces & they hold, catapulting Granite right back into it, & not doing Alan's stack much good either.
24Caliber & AlanCarr go to war, both have an ace, just a spot between their kickers, Caliber picks up a zillion draws but misses the lot & AlanCarr doubles back up immediately.
Think it's the first significant pot 24caliber has lost all day.
Foot hard to the floor as usual, GSmith jams with A-3 & calibre wakes up with the 10-10. No drama, no sweat, the 10's hold & we lose GSmith in 3rd place. He played great all day.
Granite is gradually being worn down, & was on about 200,000 at 6k/12k (17 Bigs) & jammed with A-10dd, Caliber nonchalantly giving him a spin with the A-5hh.
A sweat free run out sees Granite double up & is right back in it now, with Caliber holding, roughly, a 5:4 chip lead.
K-9 for Caliber, J-2 for Granite & granite hits Quads AGAIN.
What are the chances of that?
Anyway, it's all over, & our winner is Granite ($12,000) with long time chippie 24Caliber having to settle for 2nd ($8,000) in a wonderfully dramatic & unforgettable climax.
Comments

Getting interesting now.
You can't keep a good man down?

Well it seems you can. AlanCarr goes for it with 7-7, Granite89, now nicely chipped moves in with A-Q & Alan insta calls for his tournament life.
It's all over on the turn as Granite catches a straight, & we lose Alancarr12 in 4th place for $3,800.
I've not had a proper look yet but Granite must be close to the chip lead now, vying for leadership with 24caliber.
3 very very good players remain - GSmith, 24caliber & Granite89.
Foot hard to the floor as usual, GSmith jams with A-3 & calibre wakes up with the 10-10. No drama, no sweat, the 10's hold & we lose GSmith in 3rd place. He played great all day.
GSmith collects a very nice even $5,000.
Money?
$8,000 to the runner-up, $12,000 to the winner.
Chip counts (approx.);
24caliber - 660,000
Granite89 - 300,000.
Blinds are 5,000-10,000, so it could take a while yet.
Not much happening, maybe Caliber has slightly increased his chip lead, though Granite still has 30 Bigs so it could take a while yet.
Level 18, Blinds now 6,000-12,000/1,000.
I'm not entirely sure why they are still playing Antes. Traditionally, antes are not used Heads Up, as they have almost no effect HU.
Not gonna quibble with the TD though, Venetian have done a great job all day.

Nip & tuck, this, swinging & swonging both ways, very little between the 2 chip stacks.
Don't think it will take much to get all the money in the middle now, both players look very tired.
Oh my, HUGE pot just gone off & one of the oddest hands you'll see.
Plenty of Hollywood going off from both players, and a ton of chips in the middle by the time they reach the river.
Granite bets on the end, around 130,000 from what I could see, & Caliber threw a chip without hesitating indicating a call.
Caliber had rivered a boat with something like 10-7.
Granite? 4-3, for flopped quads. My oh my.
All change now, Granite is the big chippie, & Caliber has around 200,000 @ 8k/16k.
Oh wow..............
K-9 for Caliber, J-2 for Granite & granite hits Quads AGAIN.
What are the chances of that?

Been a great day, and everyone here has had a ball. That's how poker is supposed to be, right?
Night all.
