I was going to put in a bit of volume tonight but I’ve decided to cut the night short

    It’s gone pretty well

Won a few Dyms and then won the £5 rebuy. Strong last couple of tables but with the cards I got it would have been hard not to win it

Nice to quickly recover last nights losses plus nearly a £100 on top of that

    £147 up for the night

    Gonna watch some tv now

Just bust the £33bh after sneaking into the money
Really enjoy that mtt so it makes a lot of sense to play it off a £123 bankroll at the start of the night ;)

    Everything else was so so

Made a little bit on the night
    £25

Noticed that i think about decisions a lot more in the slightly higher buy in games. Which is obviously bad. I should put the same care into all my games regardless of buy in

Having said that i made a school boy error in the £33 which cost me a head. At least @chrisdonkb found it amusing 😊
I had a set and the opponent shoved the river, or so i thought
He’d left about 400 behind and i just called
Wp me, genius at work there

Went to The Joiners yesterday dinner time
Favoured establishment of Messers Lawrence, Bennett and Keogh.
    It’s very nice

Weighed up having 10 pints and then driving home and having a fight with a lamppost, or having a nice meal
Decided on the latter after much deliberation

Careful what you wish for :)

    Dym tables are tougher tonight

I’ve only played for an hour and i’m not feeling it so i’m giving up early

Made about £15 on the night

    It’ll do :)

    Do you ever lose?

    It's like printing money.

    Plenty of times 😊
I always take it very well though. Never grumble

I’ve run pretty well this last 2/3 months tbf
Hopefully I can keep getting away with total lack of skill but a handy amount of luck for a while longer

Every year that starts I worry that I won’t be able to win anymore
So it’s nice to have a decent January. It’s amazing how the game plays with your mind so much

    Dym question

Bubble and 3 stacks have around 2.2k and the big stack has the rest

    Blinds are 200/400
You’re in the bb with 44 and the sb shoves, he’s not the big stack
    Do you call?

If you haven’t called then next hand it folds to us in the sb and we have 9 4. The bb isn’t the big stack
    Do we shove?

    You may fold both but
Which situation do you prefer to go with?

Fold both and wait for better opportunity on next orbit with 4 BB's ..... but I'm rubbish :(
........and you make money most days :)

So what did you do? (obviously didn't call the shove I know)

I prefer to go with the latter. So much easier to shove than to call.

I quickly put both situations in Holdem Resources Calculator and got these results:

    1) BB calling range

    2) SB shoving range

Me too. I really hate calling
I do however make ‘correct’ calls routinely
Before anyone gets any ideas ;)

    That’s interesting. Thanks for that

I guess it’s purely based on players playing correctly though?

No worries. Yeah all based on correct play, so perhaps 94 is a profitable jam from the SB as population is almost certainly overfolding.

    Yeah
In general I think that is the case

I did as Misty guessed fold the 44

I did shove the 94 and got a call. Very bad
    He had 33. Very good

    I flopped a 9 and i flopped a 4

I was then advised in industrial language that i was a fish 🐟

    😄

You could always show him this and explain that his call was -EV!
