Starting to feel more confident again since returning to poker and playing some micros. Seems I'm still beating the games (at this level anyway) despite zero study, which I wasn't sure would be the case:
Have noticed with music stuff when working from home I'm super productive in the mornings and start to drop off efficiency between 2-5pm. Still going to play the morning micros a couple of times a week but going to try this week playing a couple of sessions 2-5 instead since I'm finding it harder to get real life stuff done in this window. This means I can start adding some 11s so ABI will be more like 6. Will see how it goes! But if want to give UKOPS a bash it probably makes sense to start raising ABI before then anyway
Music-wise it seems that streaming platform algorithms favor regular uploads. This is quite hard to commit to since good ideas don't just come up on a consistent basis! One suggestion I've seen is doing remixes of your own tracks and releasing those as well to fill the gaps between actual releases. Thinking of doing some piano only remixes as I think I'd find those quite easy to make since I come up with most things at the piano anyway before producing them. Will see how it goes!
Remembered that previously I'd said I would post a previous year's graph as this year's total passed it and ended up missing one having neglected to play or post for a few months!
This was 2017, the first year where I properly started playing on Sky and found the forum
Graph is slightly weird looking, like it's made from melting wax, which was a result of playing micros in the week and doing well, then playing high stakes on Sundays and doing less well Was a small winner in 55s and did ok in the 33s, but got absolutely smashed in 110s all year! Also bought in directly to a UKOPS High Roller off a <1k roll haha.
Enjoyed the @Duesenberg podcast with @The--Don. One point that really resonated with me was the irony of being less of a battler with shot taking once in a more comfortable financial situation. Yolo-ing any MTT running on the site back then strangely didn't feel at all precarious because I didn't really have much to lose. Also seems I'm more profitable at low stakes anyway
Even though I'm much more of a bankroll nit nowadays, I don't think my play style has become particularly nitty
Just the 16k to go now..! In all seriousness I think if I could get to 6k by the end of the year that would be pretty solid at this stage... 6k in 2020 it is! On the other hand, I kind of abandoned the challenge early on in the year to focus on producing music and getting to the stage where I could release tracks, and I've done that, so it's not all bad.

Any chance of a link to some of your music? Apologies if I've missed it.
Hi Tikay, hope all well with you.
At the moment I've not told anyone what my 'stage name' is or shared a link anywhere so I can see which tricks help the search algorithms etc (so far I think the only person who has listened to any tracks is me so a lot to learn!) but I will gladly share a link in this thread later in the year once I've started sharing with friends and family
This thing about gaming the algo is fascinating, never knew folks had to do that for best effect. It's embarrassing how little I know about the weird ways the internet works. Oddly, SB&G have a whole Data Science Dept who do all sorts of weird & wonderful things, though that's more for "Bet" & "Vegas" than Poker.

Interesting stuff! I'd guess Sky Poker must have somebody who does the SEO, PPC, Google rankings sort of stuff? Or maybe there's a general marketing team for the whole SB&G and that gets handled by them.

Yes, it's done by specialist teams as a central management function. Actually, there are two separate teams, one for Bet, the other for Gaming. ("Gaming" is Vegas, Casino, Bingo, Lotto & Poker). Effectively, Bet & Gaming are run as separate entities, each with their own Management Structure. They do a lot of Xsell between them of course.
Thinking of starting a new thread for next year in a month or so with the aim of getting x number of music streams in 2021. Currently on 200ish but haven't told anyone my stage name or started promoted anything yet so actually quite pleased with that! Think a million streams would be a fun goal. No idea how realistic that is - all unchartered territory!
Would also like to stay profitable in poker next year, though just as a hobby/thing on the side like it is at the moment. Would be nice to stay being able to beat the games for as long as possible. Even though I'm not trying to improve any more at the moment, previously I have spent literally hundreds of hours studying the game so it's nice that that work can still pay off. If it gets to the stage where you need to grind PIO to beat micros then that's me out!
Didn't play UKOPS - I know my level -if- there's a Mini UKOPS am thinking of going all out and trying to play every single event, so long as it's this month during lockdown.
Past couple of months: Took a 'living life on the edge' shot at a handful of £11s recently and got a 1st and a 2nd which was nice

Couple of hands - one nitty and one not so nitty:

That's great, completely understood.

Looking forward to the big music reveal - for the unveiling of your stage name as much as having a listen to the fruits of your labours
