Gripping story I’m a big fan of Michael Connelly and his character Bosch. However this account of a gruesome true crime and the characters involved is more fascinating than any fiction. His first true crime podcast The tell tale bullet was excellent. His second was too disjointed. But this his third is back up there. He pulls the different strands together in a coherent and fascinating way that will have you binge listening to this! A story I knew nothing about but will take you on a journey through the excesses of 80s LA with Names like Liberace until the present day. The interviews with the main players and the police detectives and DAs involved are captivating. If your a fan of good detective fiction and true crime this is for you

The HBO series follows the exploits of hotel employees (top left: Murray Bartlett as Armond and Jolene Purdy as Lani) and a group of affluent, entitled American holidaymakers (bottom left: Sydney Sweeney as Olivia and Brittany O'Grady as Paula, right: Jake Lacy as Shane and Alexandra Daddario as Rachel) at an ultra-luxurious Hawaiian holiday resort. Written and directed by School of Rock's Mike White, what begins as sun-soaked escapism quickly descends into a powerful, biting satirical commentary on wealth, racial divides and exploitation. In the first five minutes viewers witness a body bag being loaded onto a plane, setting up the murder mystery plot that unravels throughout the six episodes. But it's far more than your average Death In Paradise-esque whodunnit; the real drama comes from the unraveling of its seemingly picture-perfect characters, dark humour and rising tension between the hotel staff and the volatile vacationers. They still dont seem that interested, despite the documentary.
