Thanks for the tip re free Amazon trial and Bosch, @HAYSIE
Really enjoying them. As someone who read the books first, they have been as good as I hoped.
Biggest plus point-the casting. Helps when the author is the Executive Producer. Bosch himself is different to how I imagined-a little too East Coast. But-much like Tom Cruise as Reacher-sheer class as an Actor makes up for that. Rest are remarkably similar to how I imagined them.
One minor niggle. Most episodes have a minute or 2 filmed in near total darkness, like so many US productions. Brilliant.

Most of The Wire cast ended up in Treme.
Have to agree here. However a related question in the same vein. What on earth possessed Lee Child to allow Hollywood's smallest actor to portray Jack Reacher who is 6 foot 5 and 250 lbs.
I refused to watch the second film "Never go back" after the glaring anomalies of the first.
As someone who has read and re read all, 25 to date, Jack Reacher books and yes I'm such a fan that this would be my specialist "Mastermind" subject, this is one franchise that fails to transition to the big screen with any real conviction.

This was discussed on another thread quite recently.
Although I cant remember which one.
I made a similar point to the one you have made.
I believe Essexphil was not in agreement with you and thought he was a good choice.
I suppose his size is a consideration, but this may be balanced against his acting skills, the numbers he will add to the box office.
I also made the point that the author has now retired, and his brother Andrew, has taken over the Jack Reacher responsibility. In fact The Sentinel, due out in October, is billed as The New Jack Reacher, is his first effort. I read a recent article which said that he had actually changed his name to Child, although I am not sure if this is true. They were originally James and Andrew Grant.
If he took a leaf out of Michael Connellys book, he would be getting Tom Cruise to read the audio books, then sit back and watch the sales rocket.
This is featured in the books thread, but not many details seem to be currently available.
America in Colour. The entire series is currently being rerun on The Smithsonian Channel on Sky 173. It covers a wide range of subjects Politics,Sport,Crime,Disasters,War etc very interesting.

Read the opening chapter of The Sentinel as it appears at the end of Blue Moon. If I purchase it, it will be more out of habit than any great expectation. There comes a time to kill a character off and I feel that Jack should perhaps marry, settle down and just fade into memory.
Stephen Leather take note the same applies to Dan "Spider" Shepperd. Another great character series now running out of steam.

I have read all the Reacher books, except for the last one which I returned when I was halfway through. I thought it was shocking. Luckily Audible allow you to return them for any reason, and give you a credit.

Michael Connelly has been very clever with Bosch, by introducing other leading characters. Like the stepbrother that turned out to be The Lincoln Lawyer. Then retiring him and giving him a new cold case role, and a new team. Latterly giving him a new female partner in crime. After 25 or so books, it must be hard to think of new stories. Rebus also retired, and plays less of a role in the last couple of books. Although his name is still on the cover, and probably guarantees good sales.

They usually show it on BBC4 on Saturday at 9pm, two episodes per week.
So I think it will probably start a week on Saturday.
