Black Bird (Limited Series) — July 8
The highly anticipated limited series Black Bird from creator and producer Dennis Lehane is coming to Apple TV+ on July 8, 2022. Based on actual events, the suspenseful TV series stars Taron Egerton, Paul Walter Hauser, Sepideh Moafi, Greg Kinnear, and Ray Liotta. The psychological thriller is a gritty true story of Jimmy Keene, who was a high school football star before getting imprisoned for 10 years in a maximum security prison. Things escalate after he is asked to make a life-changing choice: whether to transfer to a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and get close with suspected serial killer Larry Hall, or stay back at the prison with no parole. Keene's only way to get out of the mess is by getting a confession from Hall — but will he speak the truth? The suspense encompassing Black Bird is enough to captivate viewers throughout its limited run of six episodes.
Good-but lacked the humour of the original series. Still as good as anything else right now. Looks like it will be next year before Season 2 airs-bit of a spoiler that Maddie is in Season 2!
The Lincoln Lawyer was enjoyable-for me, better than the books.
Re-watching Criminal Minds from the start to try and fill the void.
Ray Donovan: The Movie (2022) Official Trailer
This is on the new Paramount+. Free as part of the Sky Movies package.
Tried the series. Not for me. Whereas my Wife loves it.

Re-watching Criminal Minds from the start to try and fill the void.
I havent watched Criminal Minds. I thought Bosch Legacy was quite good, as was The Lincoln Lawyer. Last day of my Starzplay trial, I went for Mr Mercedes yesterday, and will watch Gaslit today. I think a free trial on some of these apps is worthwhile as in many cases they dont have enough content to warrant a full time subscription.
There are a ridiculous amount of these subscription channels. The majority are, quite simply, unsustainable in the medium term.
Netflix and Prime seem to rely on about 3 Headline new series. Less than not only BBC/ITV, but about the same as Alibi. And the rest is inferior to most freeview channels. The others have barely a weeks viewing of stuff that you cannot find elsewhere.
I think that people will probably take a different view of the subscription channels in the future. There always seem to be loads of free trial offers for Apple TV available. I got 12 months for buying a new phone, another 3 months through Sky VIP, Barclaycard are always doing offers. I have just started the Sky 3 month trial. By the end of this I will have watched everything I wish to watch. It will therefore be pointless continuing with the subscription. However I could see myself paying an Apple TV subscription for a month, maybe this time next year, depending on what they have to offer. I have recently completed trials with other subscription channels, with the same result. So this may be the way forward. Opting in and out of subscription channels. Opt in to one for a month at a cost of around a fiver. Opt out at the end of the month, and opt in somewhere else. This would enable you to pick out their good stuff at a minimal cost, before moving on. I see my main channels as Sky, Prime, and Netflix. I could see myself topping this up with an additional channel on a monthly basis. This would obviously have the effect of creating a bit of a library, by recording programmes from your regular channels, while concentrating on the additional one, and enabling you to watch the various episodes when you want to, rather than when the TV companies want you to. I would be happy to find 10 or 12 subscription channels that I could subscribe to for one month on an annual basis. This would give them time to find more new stuff before you subscribed again.

JUANSWISS 1 month ago (edited) Increíble but you Danes made It !!!!! Surprisingly terrific new season 11 years later. Loved it. Such an impressive script, casting.... and of course Sidse Babett Knudsen will remain in our hearts and minds as Birgitte Nyborg, one of the best TV carachters ever onscreen; her strength, passion, tenderness, smiles, her sensibility and acting skills are nothing but mesmerizing. Mange mange tak fra Spanien !!!!!

G R 1 month ago (edited) I don't like political drama but this is one of the best television performances I've ever seen: an indelible portrayal of a trailblazing woman—driven but despondent, controlled yet empathetic, sexy while learning. Sidse Babett Knudsen is a gem. I can't wait to see it on Netflix. Yaay!!! I remember binge watching the entire trilogy from 9pm to 5am without sleeping because it was so addicting. I couldn't let go due to cliffhanger and impressive script 🤪
