Small boat asylum seekers undeterred by Rwanda plan, survey finds
More information has been revealed about this. They are now saying that women and children will not be targeted. Families will not be split up. So those that will be sent to Rwanda, are some of the single men. Difficulties in implementing this will include being able to prove the age of young men with no paperwork. There is no doubt in my mind that traffickers will target women, children, and families in the future. Single men will probably be encouraged to adopt women, and children during the journey to avoid being sent to Rwanda. Boris thinks that flights will be taking off in the next six weeks. This seems unlikely as there is a huge queue of Human Rights Lawyers just waiting to challenge the scheme. Experts are saying that cases could be tied up in the courts for years. It also seems that successful claims made by those who have been sent to Rwanda will mean that they will have the right to stay in Rwanda, rather than the UK.
It is the last sentence that is the massive problem for this Government.
People are applying to settle in the UK. They come to this country by perilous means simply because we refuse to process any application elsewhere.
We are not using Rwanda to process applications to settle here. We are refusing to process applications at all, regardless of merit, and forcibly transporting them to a landlocked country 4,000 miles away.
At least the last Government gave a huge illegal bung to Northern Ireland. Not Rwanda.
Rwanda deportation plan ‘could easily unravel’ as Boris Johnson announces delay
Ministers have abandoned plans to send the first asylum-seekers to Rwanda this month as promised, prompting accusations that they are blaming legal challenges rather than admit that the idea is “unworkable”.
When the multi-million pound deal was announced last month, Boris Johnson said the first flights would take off within “weeks” – but his spokesperson on Tuesday said it would now be “a matter of months”.

Number of unaccompanied child migrants crossing the Channel rise THREE-FOLD in a year with Home Office using FOUR hotels to house them
The influx suggests Home Secretary Priti Patel's plan to send migrants to Rwanda has not discouraged young people from making the journey, with kids ineligible for the scheme. It comes as analysis of Government figures shows 7,240 people have reached the UK after navigating busy shipping lanes from France in small boats in just the past four months since the start of 2022. Crossings continued on Tuesday with young children among those being brought ashore, two of which had to be brought out via wheelchair having sustained unspecified injuries during the journey. A total of 128 unaccompanied migrant children arrived in Kent from Jan 1 - April 30 last year. By comparison, 108 kids arrived in January 2022 alone (pictured: kids arriving in Dover yesterday) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10780331/Numbers-unaccompanied-child-migrants-crossing-Channel-rise-three-fold-year.html

Minister refuses to rule out that Ukrainian refugees could be deported to Rwanda
It is not "left wing" to uphold the Law. It is not "left wing" to try and stop people trafficking.
And it is not Lawyers that are getting in the way. It is Judges. And the Law of the land.
Imagine for a second if you wanted to emigrate to Australia. And were told you could not apply to settle in Australia unless you were actually in Australia.
So-having no other way to apply, you travelled to Australia. Where your asylum claim was not processed at all. No-one ever assessed whether your claim had merit. Or not. But you were transported to Rwanda, and Rwanda decided whether you were to become a Rwandan citizen. Regardless of the fact that you had never applied to go there. With no obvious means to travel anywhere else-not the Country of your Birth (which is the legal option), or the Country you had asked for asylum.
But it is not you. It is someone who either wants to move to escape persecution. Or for economic reasons. So desperate they will have paid Criminals to get here.
Some should stay. Some should go. All should be assessed. And none should be transported to a totally foreign land against their will. Because that is what people trafficking is.

Prince Charles brands Home Office Rwanda deportation scheme 'appalling' but denies trying to influence government policy - as judge gives green light to first African flight
Prince Charles has privately condemned Priti Patel’s Rwanda asylum plan. Risking a major clash with No 10, he is understood to have said that giving Channel migrants a one-way ticket to Africa was ‘appalling’. But a High Court judge last night threw out a bid to halt the first charter flight to Rwanda, due to take off on Tuesday. Mr Justice Swift said he had to balance the concerns of individual migrants with the wider public interest. The Daily Mail has learnt there has been friction between the heir to the throne and Boris Johnson, with each grumbling about the other being late for official appointments. Allegations of tensions between the two men echo reports of the strained relationship between the Queen and Margaret Thatcher when she was PM. A union representing Border Force staff and two charities claimed in the High Court yesterday that Rwanda was an unsafe country and Miss Patel was exceeding her powers as Home Secretary.

Really? That many? Could possibly be as high as, er, 10.
