The current 1922 Committee are holding an internal election next Monday. The votes will determine the make-up of the new Committee. It is a done deal that the new Exec will change the rules. They are just seeking an air of legitimacy by holding a vote 1st.
It won't be close.
This is just giving Boris the weekend to choose the easier option.
Martin Brundle snubbed Nadine Dorries on F1 grid as he didn't know who she was.
An enthralling British Grand Prix at Silverstone saw world class racing, horror crashes and Martin Brundle snubbing Conservative MP Nadine Dorries during his grid-walk
Martin Brundle has revealed he snubbed Nadine Dorries during his Formula One grid-walk because he “didn’t know who she was”.
The iconic Sky Sports commentator was carrying out one of his famous grid-walks before the British Grand Prix in search of famous people to interview. While the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Stormzy caught his attention, Brundle was seemingly unfazed at seeing the Culture Secretary as he coldly walked past her in a brutal snub.
Viewers were understandably left in heaps of laughter, but the former driver later admitted he did not mean to ignore the MP. In an arguably even bigger jibe, Brundle claimed the reason he seemingly ignored Dorries was that he did not recognise her.
As she appeared on the podium to hand out trophies to the top-three drivers, Brundle hilariously recalled their earlier meeting. He said: “Is that the lady I saw on the grid, Nadine? Yes, I didn't know who she was and I wish I had done."
The current payroll vote is between 160 and 170 MPs, consisting of: 95 ministers (including whips) in the House of Commons 47 parliamentary private secretaries (assuming all those who also serve on the Privileges Committee have resigned their PPS role to be able to investigate the prime minister)
