binge watched this, thought it was very good, recommended
Yes they are already talking about season 2.
I am waiting for a couple on Paramount. They have a habit of releasing one episode per week. I prefer to wait until they are all available, so I can watch them when I want to. And lots of older people have at least slight memory problems. So its nice to be able to watch the next one, before you forget what happened in the last one. I am looking forward to The Agency, and Landman. The Agency has a very good cast, and I am a Billy Bob Thornton fan. A couple of weeks to go yet.
Mayor of Kingstown started off well. Yellowstone has a good cast, but I cant get into it. I havent watched Sexy Beast yet. The Serial Killers Wife was good. Brotherhood was also good. Ray Donovan also started well. The Good Wife was very good. Deadwood was good, starring Lovejoy, it probably has the most swearing I have ever heard in any tv programme I have ever watched. I couldnt get into Dexter. I watched a couple of series of Elementary, and might have another go, from start to finish. The Bureau is excellent. I wasnt that keen on Lioness. I watched the early series of Blue Bloods, but went off it. All the Rise of the Footsoldiers are worth a watch. I havent watched season 2 of Tulsa King yet. Finestkind was ok.
Ray Donovan. Couldn't get into it. Wife loved it The Good Wife. Excellent. Lost a little when Archie Panjabi left Couldn't get into Dexter. Wife loved it. Think she likes anything where Husbands get murdered without any consequences Elementary. Brilliant

I posted the above when scrolling through Paramount, so they are all available on there. So does that mean you havent watched the below? Sherlock would have pointed out that it was merely a case of elimination. I think you have mentioned watching Blue Bloods, and The Footsoldiers before, so I will knock them out. I would recommend these,

TV’s latest, young, hip, French detective? Mais oui … it’s Maigret
Simenon, a Belgian writer who died in 1989 aged 86, is said to have preferred Gino Cervi, who played the role of Maigret for six years on Italian television. Born in Liège in 1903, the former reporter published his first novel in 1921. He moved to Paris the next year and produced a stream of novels. From 1945 to 1955, he spent most of his time in the United States.
Part of the appeal for television producers must be the extent of Simenon’s output. He wrote 75 Maigret novels, most of them set in Paris, and his chief inspector is the second bestselling sleuth in publishing after Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. More than 800m copies of his books have been sold in more than 50 languages.

Strike: The Ink Black Heart review – it’s hard to see why the TV version of this self-indulgent novel exists
The novel The Ink Black Heart presented the regular Strike screenwriter Tom Edge with his toughest challenge yet. Criticisms of the book coalesced around two observations: at more than 1,000 pages, it was far too long; and its exploration of online fandom and comment culture, often rendered as long transcripts of chat threads and social media conversations, was self-indulgent and impenetrable. Edge has done a decent job of planing that doorstopper into four hours of telly, although his quest to extract a strong narrative from the verbiage was an impossible one.
Ray Donovan. Couldn't get into it. Wife loved it The Good Wife. Excellent. Lost a little when Archie Panjabi left Couldn't get into Dexter. Wife loved it. Think she likes anything where Husbands get murdered without any consequences Elementary. Brilliant
Why this sensational, uniquely French spy drama should be your next TV obsession The Bureau – a perfect blend of le Carré and The Wire – is being remade by George Clooney. But the original has never been easier to watch
Aficionados of high-end box set dramas – the kind that you can happily binge two or three episodes of a night - may currently be finding themselves in something of a lull. Presumed Innocent has come to its controversial conclusion; the fourth series of Slow Horses is still a few weeks away; and the eagerly awaited second season of The Night Manager won’t be on our screens before 2025 at the absolute earliest.
If you’re looking to sate yourself with what’s out there now, you’re likely to be disappointed by the underwhelming likes of Lady in the Lake and Sugar on Apple TV, and equally let down by the knowledge that, in the post-Crown era of Netflix, it’s Bridgerton or bust for you.
Still, there is something slightly under-the-radar but spectacularly gripping to watch if you’re not entirely averse to subtitles (if you are, admittedly, more fool you) and are keen to delve into one of the most purely gripping television series of the past decade. I am referring, naturally, to the French series Le Bureau des Légendes, aka The Bureau, which first aired on Canal+ in 2015.
It swiftly became a cult hit, raved about by everyone from the French newspaper Le Figaro (which, after the thunderous first season, declared that it was the greatest television series ever made in the country) to the New York Times, who called it the third best international show of the past decade. GQ put it even more succinctly: “it is not hyperbole to say that what The Wire did for the cop show, the French drama The Bureau is doing for the 21st-century espionage drama. It’s essential streaming, period.”
‘The Bureau’ Is an International Hit. Why Did Its Creator Hand It Off? After five seasons, Éric Rochant was ready to do something new. One of them was to give Jacques Audiard near-total control over the end of his final season.
‘Yellowstone’ and ‘Dexter’ Spinoffs, ‘The Agency,’ Guy Ritchie Series Part of SkyShowtime 2025 Slate
An untitled new Guy Ritchie series starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren; espionage thriller The Agency featuring Michael Fassbender and Richard Gere; The Madison, a new spinoff in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe with Michelle Pfeiffer; Ella Purnell-starring Sweetpea; and the return of America’s favorite serial killer in prequel series Dexter: Original Sin as well as Dexter: Resurrection are just some examples of the high-profile content coming to SkyShowtime in 2025.
The streaming joint venture between Comcast and Paramount Global unveiled its slate for the new year, including new and exclusive series, local originals, and first-run Hollywood films, on Monday.
The Agency, Feb. 10. Starring two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender alongside Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Richard Gere and executive produced by George Clooney, this 10-part series, based on the hit French drama Le Bureau des Légendes, follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London.
Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, Feb. 28. A five-part limited series starring Academy Award-, BAFTA-, Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning actor Colin Firth “delves into the 1988 Lockerbie disaster, where 259 passengers and crew were killed when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie 38 minutes after take-off, with a further 11 residents losing their lives as the plane came down over the quiet, Scottish town. In the wake of the disaster and his daughter’s death, Dr. Jim Swire (Firth), is nominated spokesperson for the U.K. victims’ families, and embarks on a relentless journey that not only jeopardizes his stability, family and life, but completely overturns his trust in the justice system.”
The New Guy Ritchie Project, 2025. “SkyShowtime has also announced a brand new, as yet untitled drama from legendary director Guy Ritchie coming in 2025,” the streamer said. Starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, it is “centered around two warring families based in London whose enterprises stretch across all corners of the globe and the fiercely loyal ‘fixer’ charged with protecting one of them at all costs,” according to a synopsis.
Ray Donovan. Couldn't get into it. Wife loved it The Good Wife. Excellent. Lost a little when Archie Panjabi left Couldn't get into Dexter. Wife loved it. Think she likes anything where Husbands get murdered without any consequences Elementary. Brilliant
I Watched More Than 25 TV And Movie Thrillers In 2024. These Are 10 I Think You Should Watch Story by Philip Sledge • 12h • 5 min read
Conclave A movie one of my colleagues described as “Papal Election meets HBO’s Succession,” Edward Berger’s Conclave was one of the most intense, engaging and thrilling cinematic experiences I’ve had in a very long time. Leaving me on the edge of my seat from the opening moments until the credits rolled two hours later, this film about the election of the next pope is worthy of all the praise and then some. Ralph Fiennes, as the cardinal tasked with leading the process and keeping everyone in line, is brilliant, as is Stanley Tucci and the rest of the cast.
Civil War Alex Garland’s Civil War didn’t receive a single Golden Globe nomination, a decision my colleagues and I are still trying to figure out. Let me tell you, this movie following a group of journalists attempting to reach Washington, D.C. before the President of the United States is deposed was one of the most intense moviegoing experiences of my life. Easily one of the best A24 movies to date, this apolitical thriller weaves together a loud, violent and thoughtful story about truth and who gets to tell the truth in an astonishingly poignant and succinct way. Plus, there’s one scene I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since seeing the movie.
