The most pointless thing in the world? Other than winning a 1k event seat... the people who won the tournment last time have made zero contriubtion in the forum, infact the only person who does from tsp full stop is scotty. Thoughts?

Agree with OP....well, most of what he said anyway.

For the majority it is pointless.

It's a big deal for a small %age of players, the majority of us I'm sure would prefer the money cash in hand.

How can a 1k tourny be better than 1k credited to your account, that you could use to buy into the tourny anyway if that's what u wanna do?.....

Said this when it first came out, ridic & strange that there isn't an alternative, or at least the option to sell the TSP package to someone that will make the most of it.

Im on the site every day and I couldn't list the team now if I tried.

Good concept, but time for a re-vamp imo, it got stale pretty quickly.

I was in the last TSP final and have to say, given my total lack of live experience at nose bleed stakes mtt's that it would be a waste of money for sky to stake me.

What I would have preferred is the option to take a £1000 cash prize which would be a welcome addition to the BR and recognition that I am a loyal grinder on the site. As things where I finished 10th last time but didnt lose any sleep over it.

I suppose the potential cash prizes of playing in a GUKPT are attractive to the TSP winners. Also sky would like the exposure of having a FT or winner wearing their brand.

I agree that it would be nice to see more of the team contributing on here though, but if thy've not got the time then fair enough.

The opportunity is what you make of it.

My place is up for review (in fact I think everyones place is) at the minute and only hope that I am kept on for another period of time.

This would make a mockery of it.

FWIW I think that offering 6 places every quarter is ridic and should have never been increased from 3 and have told Sky that and hope that is the first thing they change.  I realise that should my contract not be extended it will make it harder for me to get back in but w/e IMO it just devalues the promo so much

Aren't like people sponsered so they go make the site more famous? -> tournment entry yayaya they want them to finish high so sky get famous, but theres not been any thread on any of the tsp ppl playing them? Its not rly a proper sponsership imo, fly on my bedroom wall has been talked about more than most of the people who won entry last time, not heard a thing from them so i guess its bb. Isn't that how it goes with PS ect. sponsered players do f all bye bye sponsership deal...

The whole idea of it is to make sky more money by generating more rake on the site.

Make the range of prizes more appealling to a wider range of players and more rake will be generated by players fighting for league points.

    Tizn't rocket science really.

20 primos, 10 thursday rollers, 5 sunday rollers, or combo of all three is a much better prize for the vast majority of players.

Scotty, if there is any consistency they will kick you off too, you have done no more or no less than anyone else who has previously qualified and everyone else has been booted off. Why the originals stay in i'm not sure, lol and ljamesl fair enough but the rest???

I agree with the "crazy" man it has become tired and for many I guess irrelevant. I did not see one team member in a blue hoodie at the DTD grand final, not that I could name all the current team members. The DTD final was a great opportunity for TSP members to give something back to the wider community and at the same time raise the team profile, clinics and sit and go's could have been hosted by team members, i'm sure many would have enjoyed a STT with for example lolufold or gliterbabe dealing to the table. If TSP wants to be relevent it has to make an effort, if it's just a group that enters live tourneys badged as TSP then it doesn't really matter who they are or what they do.

Gaining membership to TSP is worth it to the upper grinders for the extra bonus in C4points and thus more free enteries to live events but most qualifiers don't earn enough points to enter their local pub freeze out. I have no idea what one has to do to stay on the team after the 3 month period expires, I guess we will know once someone does it.

Well to correct you Stein I have been on the team for 6 months.  I already had my place on the team extended.

During my time on the team I have played 2 GUKPTs as a member of TSP and have final tabled one.

I have ran a league for low stakes players that many players are the SPT asked me if it was gonna return.

I was wearing the Sky badge throughtout the SPT, just as I do when I went on the TV show, play live @ GUKPTs and when I played the WSOP ME.

I disagree with this. Scotty, weren't you the first player to cash in the GUKPT that team TSP generally get entered into (ie the main £1,000 event) or am I mistaken? I was just about to post that I think Scotty deserves to be kept on for that fact and also for his forum contributions.

Scotty without a doubt DOES contribute , probably as much as he can , its most of the others that appear never to , i remember at the start lolufold , glitterbabe and LjamesL used to frequent the lower cash tables for a small period of time BUT i aint seen em do too much since.

I agree with Crazyben that there should be more input from TSP,ers

As i posted someoewhere else - What happened to the "Ask TSP "?  Thread - Questions rarely got answered

Apart from Scotty and aussie09 i don,t know any regular contributors

I think its started off well. Everyone knew who the 6 were - There was no doubt they were the right 6 imo, but I follow this forum regularly and i don,t know who represents Sky or how many now - Just the ones who,ve done well in the big tourneys like Scotty, Ljamesl and dantb10

I,m sill waiting for my prize to play in an STT  against TSP, but that was 9 months ago when it was the original 6

So to stay on TSP you have to cash at the GUKPT is that it?? I'm on here plenty and yet I had no idea that you had been kept on for an extra 3 months, this process appears arbitrary to me and has rightly or wrongly the appearance of a favoured members club. The reality is that for the vast majority of qualifiers (everyone so far but yourself) there is zero chance of them staying on unless they get a run in their one and only £1,000 tourney, if indeed this is the criteria for staying on. If forum contributions are a factor then there are plenty on here who if they get on the team will have a good argument for staying on it.

Your TSP branding appeared well hidden when I saw you at DTD. As I said what better place for the "team" to make its presence felt and be given a real opportunity to be available to the wider community than the SPT final but team members were in civvies and thus invisible as a result. Sky as a brand organised nothing that I saw to promote the team at the event, as ever the STT side events were a figment of someones imagination.

Well I can assure you the badge was there Stein. Wtih regards to my extension, it was announched at SPT Cardiff by TK just before the tournie started

I don't know much about the STTs but I can assure you that there were a number held in the VIP room on the Friday evening before and there were many running on Saturday after the event, I think they were orgranised by TKP/TPT but I do know that various people from Sky and TSP took part in them

BTW I would be curious as to how you think best the criteria for keeping membership on TSP be settled?  What should be looked for?

There were at least 6 SnG's played on the Friday night, we were moved to the VIP area to run them as Simon Trumper asked to keep us separate from the main tournament and cash tables.

On the Saturday evening I got the chip set and we had 2 or 3 SnG's running at a time on the tables at the far back right tables.  I'd say there were between 8-10 SnG's played there.

Anyone could have played and I went and looked for people wanting to play but people need to be pro-active and get involved themselves.

Did you ask about SnG's at the Sky Poker desk?

AFAIK the process of whether players are kept in TSP or not is down to the discretion of the Team Manager - I have no idea about what the criteria he uses but I imagine that it is impossible for the majority of players to be kept on due to the reasoning that they will not have raked enough over the three months to keep being put into these GUKPT events so they will be released - unless if they do cash in the GUKPT ME enough to cover the cost of their next entry but they would need at least a Top 5 finish to achieve this (if not a higher finish even)

I agree that the "Ask TSP" has run it's course now but tbh I don't really care, personally I would rather they write a few blogs or something about the tournaments they played in than to come on to the forum and answer all those questions - it is time consuming and above and beyond imo. Obviously there are members of TSP like Scotty77 and Aussie09 who contribute on the forum daily and they're views and contributions are always valued imo but they did this before becoming members of TSP anyway. Scotty more than anyother has done a **** of a lot for the community through his role within TSP - his weekly competition he layed on for players with some amazing prizes and even today he began that thread offering a free £11 TSP mtt seat which is above his duty imo.

I am not aware of everyone who is on TSP and I think it would be a good idea to re-promote who the players are and maybe some sort of introduction each quarter or something to keep things fresh.

Many of the TSP players keep us all updated whilst playing at live tournaments through twitter and always tag @skypoker so that it can be re-tweeted to many more followers. It is not only the GUKPT that these players promote the site, lJAMESl this weekend played the English Deepstack tournament and wore the Sky badge, Scotty77 has worn the badge at events such as the £334 Deepstack at Dusk Till Dawn and Gliterbabe played a GUKPT summer series and wore the Sky poker material. I have no doubt that there are other tournaments that these guys have played and worn the sky badge with pride.

As for the SPT at DTD, I can personally vouch that Scotty, Gliterbabe, lolufold, dantb10, lJAMESl, Sam1986 and Aussie09 all wore sky badges at the tables. I also noticed that ebberdon wore a sky poker t-shirt at the event (there was another player in a TSP T-shirt also but I can't remember his name) as for the other players I have no idea if they wore their TSP goodies. Obviously Thewy as the resident Sky Pro wore his badge as well.  Thewy also played numerous Sit and Go's on friday and saturday night as part of TSP.
