actually cashed a few more yesterday that the 2nd in the D.Stack [x] Barg a 4th, 3rd and 2nd in some £5 donkaments for £27, £61 and £52 respectively Posted by sikas
great stuff and wp. will add those into the totals next posting.
The thought of me listing my 'poker accomplishments' is quite preposterous, but here I go:
I started playing online for real money all the way back... last May. I made a $200 deposit and donked it off on my first weekend. I came back the next month, and this time it lasted a little longer, but I was still a total fish.
After that site shut down I moved over to Sky Poker. By then I had figured out that I'm bad at cash and that I enjoy MTTs much better. I finished 2nd in a deepstack for £150 (probably would've won if not for disconnecting during heads-up) and combined with the new player bonusses I doubled my initial £200 deposit. During that time I also discovered PLO/PLO8 and realised that 4 cards are much more fun than 2. I started to move more and more away from hold'em and concentrated on the few available Omaha MTTs, having lots of fun and making a steady profit. My 'biggest score' came when I came 4th in the first 1k gtd PLO MTT on Friday nights for £121.
Due to a combination of playing a lot, cashing a lot (small fields) and PLO MTTs getting double league points I qualified for the TSP playoff, starting with 6k chips. I guenuinely believed (and still do) that I was by far the worst player in the field, especially since it was a hold'em tournament. I was very fortunate to run really well all the way through. In the early stages where there was some post flop play I won a couple of decent pots from Solack. In the middle/late stages I got enough good starting hands to steal blinds with confidence and I didn't have to make any moves with marginal hands. I wasn't at risk until there were 8 players left, when I doubled QQ />AQ. Things looked bleak when with 7 left I was at the 3 handed table (hand-for-hand didn't work) with penguin7 and JingleMa. Both had me covered and they raised every hand. With about 6 big blinds left and no super short stack at the other table I shoved over a min raise with QcTc, get called by K9s, flop 987 2 clubs, turn 5c. I double and a few hands later there is an elimination on the other table and so I am now a member of Team Sky Poker. This is by far my biggest poker achievement yet.
My goal is to make the most of this opportunity as it is highly unlikely I will qualify for the playoff again, much less bink a spot. I have neither the bankroll, time or skills to play huge volume at high stakes, so the double c4p makes no difference to me (I think I hit 500 points twice last year), but I will try to sat into SPT Brighton (and maybe buy-in directly if I fail, priority ftw) and I want to make the most of the GUKPT Walsall buy-in I will get. Just yeaterday I played live at a casino for the first time in my life. I came 6/27 and had a great time, but I have to improve a lot in a short time to not embarass myself and Sky Poker at GUKPT. Any support will be greatly appreciated.
