Bad timing for you to say that Larson lol.... nasty sessions today. Perfect time for you (from your point of view) to turn up on my table today though, can't remember a day I've ran so bad. Literally every single time I won a decent pot, I'd get coolered on another table 30 seconds later so it was like 'WIIII getting back on track... oh' all night lol.
Forgot to mention on here that I played some £1 HU SnGs with you last night, Larson thinks it finished 4-4 and I have no idea, but I know I finished about £1.20 down
I broke one of my targets today because I know I definitely tilted for a period of time. I did keep it to a minimum, but found just enough time to donate a BI to Dohhhh w/ 88 in just the most embarrassing fashion. May post a couple of hands on here tomorrow, I'm sure there are plenty of amusing hands from tonight.
Finished the day -£199 so only about 6.5 BIs in total, and I was fully aware that with the amount of volume I need to put in this month to get Priority then it's almost a certainty than I am gonna experience a few brutal sessions. Ah well, chalk it down as a bad 'un, still got £1100+ and still happy playing on at 30NL
Fresh start tomorrow and hopefully back to winning ways.
So on a non-poker topic, I went and picked up a new car today. I've had a (now) 13 year old Astra for a REALLY long time and was in desperate need of an upgrade. Last year's MOT was not so cheap to get it passed and I suspect it wouldn't have been much better when it came round to be MOT'd again this August.
It's a Chevrolet Lacetti 1.8 Sport. Yes, some people have mentioned some negative things about this car/manufacturer, but nothing about it's reliability and basically all I want in a car is ... cheap (nit innit), gets me from A to B without breaking down, and looks nice, this does the job for all 3 so it'll do.
On this topic, I've decided to withdraw whatever I make from C4P this month to put towards the cost of the new car. Everything is already paid in full etc (I don't do loans) but just thought I'd do this to reduce the amount being taken out of our bank for it and C4P is only supposed to be a bonus anyway imo so I expect to be making a decent profit this month from the games.
Back to poker. After last night's session, I really needed a session to get me back on track both in terms of £££ and to keep my confidence up. Well I got just what the doctor ordered. The start of the session was similar to yesterday, just a mixture of horrible situations, losing flips and constantly betting betting 2 streets knowing I'm good then having to fold rivers. After about an hour, all that finally ended and I managed to get things together a bit and start taking down some decent pots.
This hand was good...

12 days x 333 is 3996 so again, just behind the running, I'm also gonna drop further behind tomorrow because I'm at my mum's Saturday night where her laptop can only handle 1 table. Not sure what I'll play (if anything) cos don't think I can face 1tabling cash, so looks like it's gonna be a big Sunday grind! Definitely break 4k points next sessione easy and I think that'll be my biggest ever C4P total.
I really don't like that hand very much ) Dare I say it I don't think you played it very well, but I'll leave it open for debate ) Maybe it's just a level ! Posted by rancid
Horrifically is a bit harsh Colley, although it might not be perfect
I agree with you a bit Donk, but then we (everyone) would be pretty bad players wouldnt we if we played exactly the same style against all types of opponent.
I know Rancid is 3betting wide, especially 3handed and especially v me cos he just owns me non-stop, so think pre is fine. Again, I can take different lines on the flop, and obv he still has all sets, loads of 2prs, pr + draws, draws, and bluffs in his range. I do have basically the nut pr + draw hand, and I know Rancid will give me action with his draws, pr + draw hands. If he has sets etc (hands where Im in real trouble), and I flat, then there are hardly any turns where Im gonna be able to get away from anyway.
Granted this line does fold out all his bluffs, but I think its better in terms of getting value from the hands Im currently beating as his equity is gonna massively drop with his drawing hands if the turn is a blank.
Having said that, I do think if Im raising it should probably be a tad smaller. Im a little confused by Rancids ship though because he will know Im never raise/folding this flop for another £16-£17 and he cant really get it in and see me show any hand hes happy about.
Cheers. Not sure what car Id get if I won millions, I always wanted a convertible of some sort when I was a kid, but in this country its just so pointless.
'They' say longterm, you are probably only gonna be winning just over 50% of sessions, maybe 60% but if you're good, your winning sessions should be alot more than your losing sessions. I got off to a great start in April winning something like 8 sessions in a row, some small but some very decent, so it was always expected that I was due a bad session at some point, Im just glad I bounced back well the next session.
As with everything in poker though, all you can do is play as well as you can and see what happens. Sometimes youll have sessions where you flop 2nd set and walk into top set 3 times and playing as well as you can may mean getting stacked 3 times there. Ive tried hard recently to take on board a piece of advice Rancid gave me ages ago about not being so focussed on what the final result of a session is and more on whether I played well or not. Sometimes youll win by playing like a complete fish, and sometimes youll play brilliantly and lose, thats poker innit.
Yeah I agree, I can definitely flat and probably would sometimes. I agree that just cos we know we're going with a hand, doesnt mean we should just get it all in, but I figured that you were gonna be much more willing to get money in with your draws when there are 2 cards to come, as oppose to when youve seen a missed turn and only have 1 card to come.
Ah well, Im sure youll continue to own me in future
As I mentioned in my last session update, Im at my mums today and this laptop can only handle 1 table, so I might use this time to do some hand reviewing when Im not tempted to just go play. Might 1 table an MTT if I spot anything I like the look of, but cant 1table cash.
I was going to try and 2table tonight, but I loaded my first table and straight away it was really really slow and laggy, so didn't even bother trying.
Aint had an MTT bink for a while, although I don't play many MTTs so that'd be why lol. Seen as I could only 1table, I thought an MTT would be the most efficient use of my time so I late regged the £2.20 £250 GTD Speed rebuy... bought in for a double stack which gave me 4k @ 40/80, obv took the add-on so cost me £6.60 total. Long story short, I ran pretty well when I needed to and took it down
Pretty decent return for £6.60

you are EASILY the most improved player on sky over the last 18mnths IMO and you are still getting better. I honestly believe that you can end the year playing 100nl+
I also think that you could/should take one of the 2 remaining spots in TSP because of your ever improving game and because of all you do on the forum.....you would def get my vote m8.

Waller's post could start a bit of momentum mate.
It would make perfect sense for them to do this, you are one of the most regular contributors on the forum and get involved in pretty much everything. It would be a good boost for the site getting someone so involved to be a part of TSP, who is Skypoker through and through.
You have also done brilliant at the Poker as Waller says.
I do really feel like I've improved so much over the last 18 months, and I have put in a lot of hard work to do this, but it's something I'd have never acheived without the help of some very good poker mates.
Thanks to both for the vote of confidence for TSP. It's something I'd absolutely love to do and yeah I certainly am Skypoker through and through. It really would be fantastic but I'd imagine Tikay already has his other 2 picks lined up.

Cheers guys, feel free to get a petition going lol.
Got a session in tonight, but not as big as I would have liked. Lots of points to catch up on, but I'll get that sorted in the coming week. So I played 6 tables of 30NL and 1 table of 20NL, and made a total profit of £100.47
What do people think of my line on this flop? I know I'm the PFR and have flopped pretty well, but I didn't wanna c-bet and get raised out the pot.
So here they are, the 2 newest members of the family. We went to pick up the 2 kittens at about 10am today, and I must say, I'm definitely a dog person but they are really growing on me
The black one is a boy called Sly, and the other one is a girl called Zelda (obviously a gamer nerd)
lambert you might like dogs better but think of it this way atleast with cats you don't need to take them on a walk so thats more time to play poker especially when you get weather as bad as this march has been. still hope you enjoy them and if i ever get another mouse in my house well i now know who to ask to remove it lol.
The kittens are a bit more settled in now, although still a little sheepish. I'll definitely enjoy them Craig, I am usually a dog person but then I've never had a cat so when you've only had dogs, you're probably gonna like dogs It's all good, I like animals in general and at least cats are lower maintenance.
Just finished a session, I played 4 hours of 7tabling 30NL and made a loss of £106.09 which sucks. Didn't make too mistakes (I don't think) but just didn't run too well in some of the big pots (one of which I'll post).
It looks like I might have to abort the Priority plan this month because I'm gonna be busy all this coming weekend and it's gonna be a struggle to take another 2-3 days out of the month and still get Priority. Haven't completely given up on it yet but I'll see how things go.
So here's a nice hand from the session, just for JJ's benefit

Nothing much to say about tonights session really, a few ugly outdraws, a few coolers, and one really bad river call V Rancid where he blatantly knew I was on exactly AK/AQ and owned me.

u could opt to flat flop which is probably better
sometimes taking the view of I am going with it no matter what - doesn't mean you should raise so much bigness
I don't think my shove is great tbh but cba doing any math as I am off out
maybe we can just level ourselfs more and get into some crazy hands
