this is a joke, was b/blind then s/blind then moved strate in b/b again with s/blind once that hand finished strate to b/blind again where is the randomness for that, so twice moved to b/blind in a row strate after small blind finished.

edit, this was sat to semi for m/e and 16 players left top 9 through and everytime had player shoving on me, so this move twice in row to b/blind cost me a semi spot, oh so random my aries

As requested, moved back to GPC but some friendly advice

If you want a discussion do not call it " a joke " write the post in a manner that does not suggest criticism of the software / vendor

To the poster who called a moderator " a jobsworth " - next time I see that it will be the Block User button I hit

    My Twopenneth

It is random within the software, there is no way you can say it cost you a seat with 7 people still to exit.

In live poker it is always next big blind that moves and they move to the seat nearest the big blind on the new table, if that could be written into the software then I suppose it would be better than random but how much that would cost I do not know. Perhaps one for community suggestions?

If your question is "where is the randomness for that" then I'd say this...

If this sequence of events never happened that would make the table move algorithm non-random.

thankyou solar for moving back, i`m not saying sky is joke but getting b/b + s/b then moving strate to b/b again now this has happend before but for 3rd time in row, that`s a joke esp when you can`t call someone shoving and you have donk cards every time you move so i lost 3600k, when i did shove no choice ( but with decent cards) chip leader calls (odds) with worse and hitting. so please how is this fair with so called random moving to balance tables, as stated this prob cost me semi spot in m/e

for a start it is the utg position that should be moved in poker to the next table and not the person who has just had blinds..

that is the fault in the software...

unless your table is completely breaking up then it is pot luck..

i have had this very same thing of having my blinds then getting moved into blinds and then another move straight after..

like i state..  utg should be moved..  the next big blind..

with all that flouncing up down, up down and walking to next table knackered me out so much so that when i got up i was stiff as board, lol

on a more serious note and i`m no computer geek trust me, i have to get daughter to show me how to switch lappy on, but is there anyway off stopping same player getting moved to table sit there one hand then moved again ? and do sky boffins have anything in pipeline to prevent this happening.

              thanks

    Machka has it right "algorithms"
last night I was in a deepstack 84 runners won a couple of big hands then I'm moved to a table where i'm fifth in the tournament but fourth best on the table and there's still 71 runners left.

potato potatoe anything with an ex US presidential candidates name in the spelling has to be bad! lol

I've noticed that a lot, I think it must move people so that there's a similar amount of chips on each table, because there's almost always a couple of short stacks and a load of big stacks, or everyone has an average stack.

well i got moved 3 times in 5 minutes while in the cash of a main tonight..

each time i had had my blinds and was the button.

i was then moved into the big blind again where i was duely raised..

    3 times..

now ofcourse sky knows this is breaking the rules of poker or am i mistaken that the utg position gets moved..

the 3 moves cost me 12k in chips and i went from a good position in the tourny to a short stack..

off and then i fell for the old good hand lets shove trick..

    ahh well that variance..

sorry am i wrong in thinking that it is always utg gets moved ...   or is it the person on the button ????

p.s. edited for you. i was not implying in any way shape or form.  i just think it should be the utg that is moved and a simple program can do this..

No, you are absolutely correct that usually it is the button that gets moved.

Edit: isn't it the Big Blind that gets moved usually?

But on Sky Poker for some reason they have decided to implement a different moving strategy.  It might suck and no one might understand why, but that is the rule they use.

They aren't breaking any rules by doing so.

I actually spent some time researching this when it became an issue at a local league game I used to play and in reality - there is no rule as far as I was able to ascertain.

There are various ways to break tables some of which have been mentioned in this thread but there is nothing written into the poker rule book.  The only thing that is importnant in my opinion is that whatever method is used is applied consistently which it seems to be at Sky, ie. it's random.

Sounds like you were ul sporny, but don't forget all the times it works the other way and you benefit from it, if you've had a bad run recently, statistically ur due a good run anytime soon :)

The problem is there are no globally accepted rules of poker.  The closest you're going to find are Robert's Rules of Poker.  But nobody is forced to apply any particular set of rules.
