I'll go wherever I am asked to, (assuming I am asked, you never know!), be it Glasgow or Brighton, it is not for me to make life difficult for the suits, whatever they ask, I'll go along with.
In practical terms, however, it is more likely that I will be tasked to do the Brighton event. Ideally, Rich Milner & I need to do one each, as do Blandy & Tighty. The geography of that suggests that Mr Milner will be in Glasgow (he lives in York) & as I am currently residing in London, I will do Brighton. I am not sure at this stage how Tighty & Blandy will divvi up their day.

It has not been confirmed, but it is likely to be - I hope - March. If that is the case, there will be three monthly Finals, being March, April, & May.
The original "Viva Las Vegas" is the likely format, but they MIGHT do a "Viva Las Vegas Lite", too, it is still to be decided.

Truly, I am a poker geek by any standards. My life has revolved around poker for well over a decade, on both sides of the Table, as a player, and as a Commentator, TV Analyst, Event Host, part owner & very active Member of a very prominent Poker Forum, APAT chairman, SPT "Host", & general dogs body, & poker is my living, it's how I earn my wages.
I am fascinated by the absolute beauty of the game, the people in it, the characters, how people handle the swings, the stories, the incredible people I have met through poker, & the Countries it has taken me to, & I think I have cashed in Festival Events in 9 or 10 different countries. If I ever had the time, I'd love to write a book - in fact I have enough material to write several - about poker, & the people & adventures I have encountered along the way.
I have almost certainly commentated on more Live Poker Finals than anyone, I have definitely analysed more hands on TV than anyone I can think of, and I've played in plenty of Finals, maybe 400 or more "Live" Finals, & thousands of Online Finals. All of which I have loved.
So, it's fair to say, I love almost everything about poker. Except those Hand Histories. Unless I am specifically asked to comment upon one, I swear to God I have never willingly read a Hand History in my life, & I never will. I really don't see the point in all those lines after lines of irrelevant info they contain, 95% of which is not relevant to the hand. A poker hand can - imo - be better explained in normal writing.
In fact, I have never even looked at one of my own Hand Histories - ever, not once.
If Sky Poker - who have been absolutely wonderful to me, & to whom I am eternally grateful for putting up with me, ever said "OK, your job is now to read Hand Histories", I would snap quit. Just like that.
Just like to say thankyou to the sky poker team for a fantastic SPT Luton. I came 6th in the tournie and realy enjoyed playing the event and the Final table. Julian Thew is a fantastic player and also a real Gent. Also congratulations to 1972 amazing comeback although i think he will admit he got a tad lucky lol. Didnt think i could do much more on final table and was very happy with my own play. All of this still came second to be interviewed by the gorgeous Anna Fowler though. I am sad to say i will not be attending any more SPT events this year as am moving to Thailand for a year to teach but i will be playing online. And yes, Anna is just lovely, what you see is what you get with Anna, she has no "edge" or attitude, one of THE nicest people you could ever wish to meet.
Thewy? What can I day? He is a hero of mine, for his demeanour & attitude, & one of my closest friends in life, & has been since the day we both began playing Live Poker. I am so proud of him, & pleased that we have ended up together at Sky Poker. What a lovely way to end my career, whenever that may be, working alongside Thewy.
You are a teacher - in what subject, if I may ask?

Too right - timing is everything, & that's where the luck most lays. We make moves with airballs time after time, they are routine, & we soon forget them, but we remember it when we make those moves & run smack-bang into monsters. The fascination of the game, win or lose, eh?

Bit of a cruel river, that! Odd thing is, if he misses his house, the lot probably still goes in, & you get the lot, instead of him. He had a set of Tens, I believe.

I know everyone has their own views on here (which is one reason I like it) but as a newbie I've found the clinic and the HH's posted there extremely helpful in my learning process. I also try and review hands I may have played badly and to do that I need to look at my HH. NOT disagreeing with your view BTW just pointing out that I (and probably others) find them useful. pad - run good.

in your opinion in the modern game is there still a place for the solid abc player who multitables, plays tight and bets for value with premium hands.
this is the style iv been playing lately combinde with carefull able selection (only picking tables with at least 2 or 3 players who are shorting) i seem to be doing ok.
do you think this strategy can be sustained over a distance.
Hi TK, i tried to satellite into Brighton, had a monster & walked into yet another bigger monster.....lol So tonight i had a go at the satellite for up in Glasgow & i was one of the four who got through. I must admit down south would have suited me better, but hey if its a good a atmosphere as Luton last week i be in for another good fun day... Only thing that worries me is the Scotch are renowned for being tight & i may well have a right job on my hands trying to get them to part with their chips......lol......only joking!

For different games - I assume you mean Omaha - the same sort of cards appear, but they are used, & valued, differently. A-K in Hold Em is a big hand, in Omaha it's not much use. Same cards, different meaning.
could you throw any light onto the HiLo starting stack changes situation. This change has not gone down well with regular players. The previous format worked perfectly well, so if it aint broke, why fix it?
