Hi Tikay ,  Thought you lost the first round [see above], now I see your team are two up, well done you picked the best players that's what team captains are for. Bet your glad I didn't play.  However I did try as promised but the game was a lock out and I had to watch "railing" I think they call it.  Bet you were worried when a Orford won it. I think you've got them on the run so no feeling sorry for them and letting them back in. NO MERCY in POKER. ?  annie x

Hi Tikay, I have been having certain success recently with both cash and sit n go's but whenever i try to play a multi table tournament i just seem to end up short stacked and under pressure even though i am not losing many chips just not gaining many either.

Do you have any tips or advice which could improve my multi table play

I had an unscheduled "day off" from Sky Poker yesterday, I needed to attend to some stuff elsewhere, & was out last night, so I'm in a hole now, lots of PM's to reply to & questions to sort out, sorry.

I had a call from Lisa last night to say many folks wondered if I was OK, wow, thank you. All is good, but I have to wear a different hat some days.....

It's Master Cash today, so I need to put up the three quizzes, & do the Show Thread, so pretty busy today, too, & I do the Show tonight, with Rich, including his TKO forfeit.....

Tomorrow, I plan to go up to DTD to play their £150, & hopefully collect some blog material.

I'm sure there used to be more days in the week, & hours in the day.

    Enjoy your weekend. I will!

Thanks Glum, good to hear you are back at work & getting stuck in. Can't beat it.

I'll not be playing on Sky Poker again until Monday evening, & Thursday was the last time I did, but I signed off with a win in the 8.15 "IrishRover" Deepie. Took 4 hours, netted me £90, but it only cost a fiver. As much fun as you can get for a fiver I reckon.

    Hi allan

Because you onlt sattelited, unfortunately in you will not get £32 pounds, you could however get the satelite cost back, alternatively, could could ask to be put into primo at a later date, whichever wway you choose, you need to contact Customer Care and explain what has happened, you can find the contact details on the left hand side of the page, below casino games.

    Hope this helps

    Hi geese

I would think it impossible to have 2 identical hands, the reason being that there are only 4 suits to a deck, now it may be that you are refering to a hand like AK offsuit Ad Ks against Ac Kh, then yes it is possible the draw could become 3 hearts, spades, diamonds or clubs, so is the turn or river card is also a heart, spade diamond or club then the hand with the highest suited card would win.

Hope this helps, if you are still unsure give us a shout :)

Hi TiKay, I have been playing Tourneys on Pokerstars, wash my mouth out with soap lol for three years, by playing tight and using position, premium hands etc, i have won many tournaments and reached the Final Table 70 percent of the time. I have recently started playing cash and using the same format, i am losing, my question , do i have,, to play looser at cash play, play silly hands like, 9 ,6, 10 7, A 6 etc which i would not normally play, what is the secret or should i stick to Tourneys, i would like your advice please, thanks The Mosquito.

    Hi Tikay,

I would like some advise in finishing higher in $5 rebuy tournaments.

Last night, and this is typical, I finished 17th of 1,690 playes in a $20k guarantee. I collected $177 for my 6 hours play and only invested the buy in and add on for $10 total. Whilst that is OK I really want to win the $4,000 first prize when I get deep into these tournaments.

My problem is I become scared to play hands and then when I do I am often taken out. I know the obvious things like stay away from big stacks, pick on the small stacks and try and pick my spots.

Last week I finished 67th in the same tournament. In both tournaments I was in the top 3 at some point. How tight should I play when I hit these dizzy heights and I tend to get smashed back down into the pack.

I like to play in position at the late stages but struggle to know what to do when I get shoved on. Or re raised if I raised from early position.

What I think I need advise on is hand ranges to play in the late stages and what I should call off with on re raises and shoves.

    Please can you help

    Hi Mark

This question is more common than you think, and the answer has questions too, what is your table image?, what are the others table image?, how many to a table?, part of the problem is as you say you become scared to play a hand as you seem to get outdrawn, yes it will happen, but if you get em in with the best hand you will be a winner long term, as for hand ranges, the later in a tourny, the wider, dont forget, you can push with any 2, but its hard to call unless they have a hand then you always have the chance of the draw 2 chances to win;)), if you become tight, you are going to be blinded out you definitely have to stop being scared of playing hands in later stages otherwise what is the point of entering?

    Good luck

    Hi Mark,

    That's a really well-constructed & presented Question.

I think you are starting fom the wrong place, though.

17th of 1,690 this week, & 67th last week is excellent - there's not much wrong with your game. (More of which shortly).

You have to grasp a fundamental though. In 1,700 runner Tourneys, someone like Phil Hellmuth, who, shall we hypothesise, has a decent edge on the fierld in relative terms, will win it, what, one time in 600? 700? And he'll cash 3 times in 10, maybe. There is massive Variance in large-field Tourneys, & you are just are NOT gonna win every one.

Now, your game. Well it seem fine to me, but there's just one trick to remember. The deeper you go, the more aggro you must be. Just gradually fettle the aggro throttle firmer & firmer.

Hand ranges? Forget them. Play position, players, "spots", little commando raids on the Blinds. 4-4? Muck it or shove, never call. Be persistently consistent, & look for every single "spot" you can. Unopened Pots in late Position are a golden harvest waiting to be picked, & first one to Bet usually gets the fruit.

Good Luck - come & tell us when you get the big scoopio.

PS - And, ahem, play more on Sky Poker!

No worries Glenn, I would not change a single Member of my Team.

We took a beat last night (allegedly), but now is the time to show our mettle, when the wind is in our face.

We lost a battle, not the war.

We must also lose with dignity, & give full credit & praise to our luckbox opponents.

    Personally, I'd stick to Tourneys.

But if you want to play Cash, remember that in Tourneys, you protect your "life" with your, err, life. In Cash, it's different, & you should have a bunch of pull-ups in reserve. So Cash plays much looser.

By the way, I can't think of a single player in the world who is equally proficient at BOTH Cash & Tourneys.

Decide what you are best at, & stick to that, imo.
