hi TK, for all those that moan about bad beats. have a look at this hand. Iwas knocked out on my first hand and laughed my head off. Poker is wondeful game full of twists and turns. This was a case of im out, No wait im in again. no im out.

    Hand History #226333543 (20:47 22/01/2010)
When you see the hand you will note I raisedup3x with pocket tens and was called by two. flop came 55 blank. both players called 20 I raised to 360. any way two of us went all in. my oppo had 58clubs, i was shocked hehad called that after my initail raise, the turn was another ten beating his trip 5,s, on the river came the final blow, another 5. I just sat back and roared with laughter. What a wonderful game this is.

    All the best

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Hi Leapy, I cannot help in such matters I'm afraid, you need to contact Customer Care, and if you are struggling there, Sky-Rich is your next port of call. I get in trouble when I try to help in these matters - I'll explain why later, I'm a little busy this morning. I hope you get sorted, anyway. Have you thoroughly examined your "Account History"? I find it hard to believe that the system allowed you to pay two Entry Fees for the same Tourney, which is, in effect , what you are saying.

It does happen tikay, if you qualify for a tournament through a satellite, you are registered for that tourney, if you de-register for whatever reason (by mistake maybe), because you have not paid directly, you have no stake to be returned. If you then re - register for that tourney it will then deduct the full buy in fee, its the same if you win a seat in a competition

    Hi Ten,

You need to be very careful with the terminology when Raising, or discussing Raises.

At 30-60, the MINIMUM RAISE is 60. So you are making it 60 + 60. So it's "120 to play".

You cannot Raise TO 100. That would be a Raise of 40, & is not allowed.

You CAN "Raise 100", which would make it 160 to play (60 + 100).

If, at 30-60, if you say "I Raise 100", then you should put 160 on the middle - because you have RAISED 100.

"I Raise", "I Raise to", "I make it x to play" are all variations on the theme. Be very careful what you say & do, & make it clear BEFORE you put your chips in.

IT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA TIKAY IF SKY COULD INTRODUCE PLACINGS WHENEVER WE ARE PLAYING IN TOURNAMENTS RATHER THAN THE SYSTEM THEY USE,EVEN IF WE KNEW THAT IT WAS THE FINAL TABLE AS I HAVE BEEN CAUGHT ON MANY OCCASIONS AND I AM SURE I AM NOT ON MY OWN ON THIS ISSUE.DONE A GOOD JOB UPGRADING THE SITE BUT BRING US PLAYERS SOME MORE HELP,AND MAYBE AN ODD LOYALTY TOURNAMENT OR SURPRISE BONUS,SEE YOU AT THE TABLE M8.

    Hi Tikay,

I have been playing on Sky Poker about a month and hope to see a hand or two of mine before long. In the meantime I have two questions:

    1. I was watching a cash table hand involving TOMMYD with KK v 88 and 44. Tommy raises 4x bb and both pocket pairs flat call. Flop comes 667, the 44 bets out and the 88 re-raises. My question is what is the correct play for the kings? Tikay seemed pretty adamant that the kings should come over the top, but was this advice at all influenced by the fact that he could see all the cards? On the occasions that I find myself in this situation and push, invariably the raiser has A6 or 65 and I end up losing my stack.

    2. The vast majority of the hands shown on TV, however they pan out, seem reasonably logical as far as the way people play. However, I have played a few hands where I have singled out a ridiculously bad calling station, raise my big aces (AK AQ) so high (10x 20x bb) that I'm virtually putting him all-in, and they call every time with nothing but air (K4 J3 etc.), flop their 3 or 6 outer, and I lose, sometimes 6, 7, 8 times in a row! Can you please show a few of this type of hand on TV sometime and give us your thoughts on what people like this are thinking, and what they have for breakfast to make them so lucky!

Cheers, and great show, love it!

    Hi muggy

We are unbable to give you an answer without some information, what position were you on the table with these hands i.e. first to act, last?, what were the table dynamics were they all just calling, was someone being aggro?, What were the betting patterns to the hands, did you min raise?, raise and if so how much?call? :)

IHi loony,, I did get the money refunded, but you are wrong in saying there is no meney to be refunded, four other players as well as myself put money into the satellite with only one going through to the £5.50 seat, if the money is not mine it certainly does'n belong to sky poker, you can't just forfeit money and not include it in the prize pool or refund it to the playern Response to Re: Ask Tikay?:

My apologies, what i meant was, that the money you 'won' was in the satellite game, and because of this sky doesn't recognise you as having paid any money into the next stage (go to my account and you will see that it has £0.00 in the fee box) so wont give you any money back (which is correct as it is in the T and C for sats) however the one thing it should do is allow you to re - register for the tourney at no cost, which it doesn't, this is a problem that needs to be brought to the attention of the sky egg head team. On a final point i think the moral of the story (and it has happened to me) is, only play a satellite tourney, when your sure you can make the final and never de - register, if for whatever reason you cant make it, contact the chat on-line team and sort it out before the tourney commences.

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : [QUOTE ]hello tk, about 2 weeks ago on poker tv,you mentioned that you met a guy and he gave or lent you a book about omaha, you said it was the best book you had read,i was just wondering if you would let me now what it was called,as i have just started playing. i will keep it a secret, cheers madeyes. Posted by madeyes
Hi Madeyes, I have had about eight people PM me & ask the same thing! I will let you know the Title, & Author, & where it can be obtained, shortly. Somewhat selfishly, I want to ensure they can fulfil my order first - I have ordered a dozen copies. Some are for close friends, a few will be given to Sky Poker Producers to give away as prizes etc. The man who showed me the book is a wily old guy who has never worked a day in his life, he just eeks out a living playing Omaha Online, & over the years, he makes about a grand a week, nice & steady. We have been friends for 15 years or more, & I always listen to his advice.   He went to Vegas recently, & perchance, ended up sat at a Poker Table playing Omaha next to the Author of the book. He shared the info with me, but asked me not to mention it on my "other" site, where they are all a bit sharp. He genuinely thinks it will unlock the secrets of Omaha like no other book before. I went & had Christmas dinner with this guy on Xmas Day, he showed me the book, & I could not put it down, I was awestruck. I have played Omaha for about 10 or 12 years, & I'm "competent", my Live record is 9 Fessie Cashes from 13 Tourneys I think, including 2 wins. So I'm not naive as to Omaha, (not saying I'm good, either) but this book is something else, & taught me stuff I had never imagined.
