What dreadful news, & sympathies go to Allison, & all of Barry's family.
Barry was one of those oh-so-rare individuals without a bad bone in his body, & without an enemy or detractor in life.
Every night, when I was playing Online, & desperately trying to field simultaneous questions from 5 or 6 players on several Tables, Barry would be there to help me.
He helped me with the routine questions on "Ask tikay", too, easing my load.
For a while, he became a Moderator here, always a position that invited ridicule for no logical reason, & it says everything about Barry that I don't recall one negative comment about that.
Rich Orford & I, more than anyone, I think, benefitted so much from Barry's help & support, & I doubt either of us have even been on a poker Table where Barry has not been there to support us.
Rich & I, are, by chance, doing tonight's Show on Channel 865 together, & I'm quite sure we will find a word or two to say about Barry, & reflect on this terrible news. It will be hard to know what to say, actually, but we'll do our inadequate best.
Deepest sympathy from all of us at Channel 865, Sky Poker, & this wonderful Community.
Are there any details of his service? I'm sure those of us who can would like to pay our respects in person. Obviously, we will not tread where we are not wanted.
Yesterday was a very sad day for the Sky poker community, with the loss of Acebarry10. I didnt have the pleasure of making his acquaintance or playing him on the poker tables, however I had heard Tikay mention him with great affection on Ch 865 & he was obviously a truly nice man & cornerstone of the community. Somehow playing poker seemed secondary on such a day.
I don't know whether Barry had a favourite deepstack tournament that could be renamed in his honour, or should the afternoon league get the go ahead then it could be known as the ABM , AceBarry Memorial League.
Barry was a true Sky Poker Legend. I was fortunate to work closely with Barry during his time as a moderator. He always had a cool head, never got upset and was always the voice of reason, when things got tough for the moderators. His descion to step down from that role, whilst competely understandable left a hugh hole in the team.
I did have the pleasure of playing live with Barry at SPT Leeds, he was a true gentleman, even as he was scooping up about half my stack with Pocket Queens ;o)
My thoughts go out to Alison and all Barrys family, he will be sorely missed by all here at the Sly Poker Community
I remember he was one of the 1st to offer me advice when I asked for some help on the forum and I have seen him help many others - a great man and a great loss.

He was The Voice of reason, and will be sorley missed by us all!!
He set a great example always, which we could ALL learn from!!
My thoughts & condolences go out to Alison & All his family
Such sad news,When ever are paths cross at the table he allways had a kind word to say 2 everyone and allways wish everybody good luck, my thoughts go out too his family at this terrible time
Thank you all. Tikay, as i mentioned earlier in the thread, Barry never had a bad word to say about anyone and certainly held both you and Richard in high regard.
For people asking about the funeral, i regret that nothing has been sorted yet. Mom has no benefits and I am not in a position to pay for a funeral. We cannot apply to the social fund until mom has some sort of benefit. Dad had no savings or insurance so this is likely to take some time before we can put him to his final rest.
My father was a supporter of Shopmobility Sheffield, a charity to help disabled people be more mobile in Sheffield. It's also a place where both me and mom still visit.

What a lovely bloke... if there were more "AceBarry's" in the world it would be a far better place
RIP Bazza
always found him to be helpful and to be an all around nice bloke.
That description really doesn't do him justice at all, but I hope he knows what I mean
may you always run good now
