We keep seeing the presenters talking about hand betting when all hands are open, why not try setting them up with blind hands like real play and see how they do, intersting!!!!

Hi folks, 2 things that have definitly got worse with the Sky Poker channel over the last few months.
1/ There used to be a live show every night for the open / primo etc. Now it only seems to be 2 or 3 times a week. I'm guessing that's all down to cost, but it was so much more watchable, and the chance to see your hand was always a draw.
    2. Live players in the studio. I went down to Feltham a year or so ago, and played the Saturday night even in the studio with occasional chats to the presenters. I have to say that of all my Sky Poker experiences, it was the best (and I'm including a number of decent wins in that).

    Just my 2p.

I would love to see more LIVE games every day of the week

instead of all the REPEATS that keep being shown.

This would encourage me &  i`m sure a lot more people to

watch your very entertaining but very repetitive Sky 865.

     Many Thanks  Steve......

Could you show some hands with just one players hole cards face up.  When all the cards are face up it's quite obvious what each player should do, and how much they should bet.  Not so easy when you can only see your own cards.

This style, together with the analysis from your team, would help my game (hopefully)

    Hi All

Unfortunately we have had to reduce the number of nights we go live since last year, however over the next year we are going to try and increase the variety of programmes we put out. This could possibly include live tournaments, Omaha coverage etc. Problems this end are all technical in regards to the studio and how we can show hands on our consoles.

Guests are always welcome in the studio you just need to leave your details on the 'Be On The Show' thread under The Sky Poker TV Channel section. You can also email in at skyopen@bskyb.com

Please keep sending your ideas in and I will get back to you all asap!

I posted this in another thread but here it is again

On another point Mandy/Clare ..what would be a good idea latter in the year is  to run a series  team league
for example ..teams of  four  play .. 5/6 players a team ,with  captain who can rotate players as and when available .. maybe play one a fortnight .. 10 - 15 games .. entry  fee split ( maybe £10 - £15) so's 75% payed on the night ,  with the other 25% shared by the top 3  teams at the end of the series ..
(or something along  those lines  ask  Rich or TK  for their view for next winter maybe)

Oh almost  forgot , Skypoker to  add a sweetner forthe the first  and 5th  games + add a bonus for the winning team !!!  (what ?)

We used to do something similar called Stacked-Up which was very popular. We will be pushing these sorts of ideas through from July (our new financial year) so I will let you know more then

How about a once weekly show where Tikay is sat in a big comfy chair with a pot of tea beside him, maybe a nice piece of cake too.  In the background is a roaring log fire, paintings of his favourite ducks, trains, chimneys, aqueducts on the wall.

The camera pans across the room, focuses on Tikay, he stirrs from his sleep, mumbles in his semi-sleeping state, "Richard, don't go there", realises where he is and looks to camera.

Tikay welcomes the viewers to his living room, and then proceeds to tell some of the best stories you've probably ever heard regarding anything Tikay likes for the next hour.

It's so crazy, it might just work.

    1.
To be honest I dont play on sky poker that much anymore, but the main draw for sky poker was the possibilty of ending up on TV,
With the reduced number live shows, and tornaments that are shown the bigger Primo / vagas games being higher buyins, kinda put me off.

    however,
You start tornaments every 15 mins or so, all day every day at much more beginner levels £2-£5 entry,
this should equate to plenty of final tables going on at any one time,

How about a 'Final Table Live show' so you make a final table on a live show evening, odds are quite high you will pick out a hand or two from it.
Can have little announcement/Players names thrown up on screen each time another torny hits a final table.
-gotta be better than the endless conversations on trains and films (sorry TK ;-) )

    2.
Why dont you use the background graphics you place behind the presenters, ... so your showing the primo night theres lots dead space behind to show statistics, top 6 players / chip counts, average chips etc...
be fun during a tornament to see yourself make the top 6 at anypoint in the game and for you to appear behind the presentors,

    3.
Seems to be lots of information missing from the table being shown at the time,
cannot see how many chips remain in a players stack once they have bet,
would be nice to see %'s of a hand winning
yeah while you sending out over SD you can only fit so much data, but still some information is very telling and seems missing,

    4.
showing the end of the primo's etc...
ok so the live presenters would like to go home..
why not simply broadcast the table view as if you had logged into the site and found the table and watched the end,
yeah not as good as with presenters but least it follows on to the end...

*throws his 2p into the ring...

    Gands.

    Hi LiquidGand

We have a selection of tournaments on the website with TV symbols next to them, which we try and show a variety of action from each week. Unfortunately some people do not want to have their hands shown on TV so we cannot put this function across too many tables.
If you would like your hand reviewed you can always email into the show with the table ID number and we will try and get this analysed on air...skyopen@bskyb.com

It would be great to show percentages of hands during play but our console system does not carry this data. The poker experts try to give you this information when possible. However we are looking into this as a possible upgrade to our systems.

The Primo final table is shown as a separate show every Wednesday evening at 8pm.

Hopefully that will answer some of your questions, but please keep emailing them in!

Sky Poker is a channel for you!  So what would you like to see on the channel?  What will help you improve your poker? What do you like about the channel and want more of? What guests would you like to see on the shows? Have you got ideas for new items or shows? It's all about you - so let us know your feedback - and you never know your idea, no matter how big or small, could feature on the channel soon!

How about an actual live game, in the studio, with a prize pool of £50k... buy-ins and satelites... or using poker point to ''buy in'' to the knock out stages online, (no direct buy-ins to the quarters etc..everyone has to earn their place)..then show the quarter-finals, semi final and the GRAND FINAL live on sky poker in the studio. The buzz would be amazing and probably some real upsets as some of the favourites fall by the way-side along the way...put it to the vote of the members..guaranteed a winner all round
ALL THOSE IN FAVOUR??? SAY AYE!!!!!!

Hi All. Just a reminder that there are some new shows starting on the channel (865) tonight from 20:00. Including Richard Orford's BR challenge and a 30 minute show dedicated to the final table of Sunday's Primo tournament.

Is there a reason why I cant get channel 865? Im from Northern Ireland and the only time it appeared was when my skybox went abit mad and it thought it was based in the midlands.  When i rebooted the box and went back to BBC NI etc, the channel disappeared again!

I seem to remember a previous thread some months ago which said that 865 was no longer available in Ireland, not sure if it was something to do with TV contracts or the fact it was a gambling site.

    Hey :)

New to poker, new to the site and new to the channel. Enjoying them all !

I'm very new to poker (only been playing for about 3 weeks), so I find the analysis-type shows invaluable.

Tonight I found myself having to go through each each daily schedule individually to record Poker Clinic.

Any chance of getting the schedulers / programmers to add "Series Link" functionality to shows like "Poker Clinic" / "Mastercash" etc? It would save me and probably quite a few others some time.

    Cheers,

    Darren.

Can I just check this definitely isn't being commissioned?  I can't take the tension any longer.
