Strange story from Kevin Williams in the WSOPME.... Tikay, you'll LOVE this.... "Just played weirdest pot ever. There's confusion after a long break as to where the btn is. It's sitting between me and the player on my right. After some debate we decide the btn is on me (I can't remember) and a hand is dealt. A short stack shoves and all of a sudden..people say that the btn should actually be on the player to my LEFT, despite it sitting nowhere near him. General consensus is that is correct but action has taken place so hand stands. Player to my right now thinks and then calls the short stack. I find JJ and reshove .Short stack has KK, player to my right has AK and I hold for the side pot and KK holds for the main. If deal is correct I get the AK and would be out. Instead I have 90k after starting the hand with 124k " You couldn't make it up!!!

I LOVE that story, "Good Beats" are the greatest, even better the people that recognize them.

    Pretty unusual tale, too.

I think I may marry Kevin.

You probably know this, but Kevin is the last remaining one of Neil Channing's BBP lads.

So, after play finished last night, at 1am or whatever, I noticed Neil Channing standing outside the Amazon Roon, Matt Bates was chatting to him actually.

I went up to Neil & said "I'll bet you £1,000 that you have a stake in Kevin, there is NO WAY you'd be stood in a soul-less corridor in the Rio @ 1am unless you have got a stake in him".

He started to protest, then fessed up, & admitted he has a bit of Kevin, lol.

I believe BBP also have a stake in Kevin, too. Not sure how all that works, but well done them, anyway.

Tikay, Looks like you may be staying in Vegas a bit longer if Marc carries on like this. Have you had to change plans yet or are you still on the origional schedule?
    Posted by Woogie8688
As of yet, no, I have not changed my travel or hotel plans, but it looks like I will need to.

My scheduled return - as with all the other lads - is on tomorrow's Virgin flight to Gatwick, which leaves Vegas 4.30pm. The rest of the Team will have to travel without me (I'm sure they'll cope....), & Thewy, who has been such a help to me all trip, will look after everyone on Sky Poker's behalf.

I want to leave the change of plans as late as possible, "just in case", but of course I hope Marc remains in, & I have to stay, even though I'm aching to go home, as I have some stuff to deal with.

We changed our return flight last year, delayed everything by 3 days, because Kimpet was still in with loads of chips. No sooner had we done so then he busted, & I ended up kicking my heels in Vegas for 3 days. There was almost no poker, the action dies as soon as the WSOP Main Event is halfway through. Anyway, I don't want to bok Marc by changing the flight details yet, I still think we bokked Kimpet last year!

I guess I'll need to do it as soon as play ends tonight, @ 1am, as the flight is 4pm & they'll need notice. Not even sure how to do it, I've never done that sort of thing before.

Seasoned loser? One guy just bust out, & then released some sort of pepper spray in the Amazon Room, everyone started coughing, they had to relocate several tables & ask the spectators to leave.

Seems quite ironic that a crowd from Sky poker are flying on one of Mr Branson's planes.
When you get to sort out the changes Tikay, you had better not tell them, they might just get funny about it.
I assume Marc's still in, not heard for a bit & with regard to Teddy Sheringham the listings are still showing him in & with 1 chip lol.

Lol, true as to Wooly Jumper Airlines. We use them for Vegas as it arrives 4 hours earlier than the BA Flight, which just sort of works better.

Marc is still, & unusually, becalmed on 650,000. Kevin Pollak, 2 to his left, is telling stories & doing non-stop impressions.

Blinds are 3,000-6,000/1,000 for another 30 minutes, then there is a 90 minute dinner break.

Just seen this schedule for the remaining days.

Day 4 - play will continue at 12 pm on Friday, July 13, 2012, and play 5 levels
    • Day 5 - play will continue at 12 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012, and play 5 levels
    • Day 6 - play will continue at 12 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012, and play 5 levels
    • Day 7 - play will continue at 12 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012, and play down to 9 players
    • The Final Table will resume play October 28-30, 2012

They seem do be dropping quite quickly now after the bubble. Will there be a slow down period later today do you think or will it slow down on day 5 and 6? I also thought they may of put a 'rest day' somewhere in that scheudule too.....12 hour days x 7 days must be tough on some players as well as the bloggers!

Correction - it is NOT Dinner Break yet. It is just an unscheduled, mid-level, break, no idea why.

Play resumes in 4 minutes, then 1 hour of play, & THEN it is Din Din time.

Will answer your Q very shortly Alan, but it's all going off here......

Marc has been moved to the third of the three ESPN Feature Tables, in the "Gold" area of Amazon.

He says he has "6 old geezers with cowboy hats" but one younger, very good, player, with over 2 million chips.

Oh, & I forgot to add. Marc says he has just over 1 million chips. Allow for a little artistic licence, & VAT, call it 950,000.

I will relate the 2 hands that got him there shortly. Don't even TRY to guess the hands......

I said I would answer your "No Rest Day" question next, but my head is catching up with my rear end here, because this one is more relevant & time precious, so I'll return to that shortly.....

The Official Counts - unreliable, but I would suggest they are within 10% of accurate - suggests that the two highest placed Brits are....

    James Keys - 850,000

    Marc Wright - 850,000

Sam Holden is close up behind them with 805,000. ("Officially").

I was just with, & chatting to, James Keys, & I know for a fact his count 10 minutes ago was 810,000.

Marc just told me he has "nearly a million", so make of that what you will.

"Near enough will do" as the dodgy carpenter used to say.

I'm staggered at how fast they continue to fall, & to be honest, I have no idea if this will slow down or not. I'll put some numbers up shortly, & maybe we can work out the likely attrition rate for the rest of today.

No Rest Day? I'm not quite so staggered by that, but I am very surprised. It is the first year since I have been attending that this has happened, they ALWAYS have rest days.

I was told this months ago, but I was a non-believer. I was wrong.

Yes, this is the 7th straight day without a break, but NOT for the players, as there were 3 x Day Ones, & 2 x Day Twos, so they are playing their fourth day in seven days, which is not quite so bad, though by Monday, yes, they will be mentally wrecked.

I'm not convinced that 20 & 30 min breaks between levels, & 90 minutes for Dinner helps either, as everyone just has to kick their heels & hang around.

For the bloggers, yeah, a bit of a slog, but the Tourney is designed for the players, not the bloggers, so we can't complain really.
