I intended to do one every day, & I did OK until time eventually beat me, once the Main started, when it got beyond me to get the Blogs done daily.
Once upon a time I could have managed, but I guess old father time stuck it in my eye.
The Blogs - I think there were about 20 - got an amazing number of "clicks", more than I dared hope, so thank you to everyone who read them.
I loved the "Comments", thank you, but again, time meant I either replied to them all, or wrote the next one. So please accept this as my "thank you", to everyone who left comments.
In my perfect world I'd write a Blog every day, or twice a week or whatever, rather than do other less satisfying stuff, I love writing, & I have tons of material, & hundreds of unused photos. But we don't live in a perfect world, so maybe you will be spared.
The next SPT is the Grand Final, in September, so hopefully I'll be able to thank many of you there, in person, for your support whilst we were in Vegas.
I promised 5% of my profit in that WSOP Event I played would be donated to the Monday Night DTD.
The promise holds good, & I'll sort it once I get home.
I'll be writing to both Chris & Michael to discuss the best, & fairest way, to handle it. It MAY be a "One Month League" thing, or it could be a single Monday night quickie. (I prefer the former).
Let me see what Chris & Michael think first, plesse, & let's not derail this thread by discussing it further here.
The profit was ($15,078 minus $1,500) $13,578, x 5% = $679. At today's exchange rate, that comes to £436. If I had not mangled my exit hand, it might hve been a great deal more, & we might be wondering how to divvi up a WSOP Bracelet.....
So, £436 of added value for those who play DTD, which is at the very heart of our community.
Apparently reports indicate that Teddy Sheringham was out in 388th? Ia that right, Tikay? Not a bad show from him. Although those same reorts have Daid Icke playing the main evwnt anf in the top 250. So Tikay, is it true that David Icke was playing, and finished ONE place behing Tikay? Posted by Padzz77
Teddy? Yes, that's what I heard, too.
David Icke? The conspiracy theory man? Yeah, he finished one place behind me. Not sure which is the more believable to be honest - his "theories", or my dazzling poker skills......
Well done Tikay, you've done a fantastic job with your blogs and updates, made us all feel part of it and demonstrated your excellent poker skills with your own cashes too! You truly are a legend!
You mentioned the guys back here, but a huge thankyou to you for all your efforts & making us feel through your blogs & pictures that we were there with you.
Congratulations to all the team out there who have done themselves & Sky poker proud. Hope they have all enjoyed the Vegas experience.
Horlicks! I didn't expect to wake up to this news :(:(
Thanks to TK for keeping this thread going even when all the community regulars had all bust, I really thought it would continue another couple of days at least, but not to be.
A massive thank you to all how have contributed to this thread It really has made me (and many others by the sounds of it) feel part of whole Vegas experience Have a safe trip home everyone
Ye +1 i looked forward to reading this thread when i got home from work at 10 pm, its had it ups and downs, but in the whole its been a good trip, Rayn, Tikay cashing in tourneys, 2 cashing in the main event, all in all well done, it wont be long before it all starts again, so again well done all. Glen
Fantastic effort by Team Sky over in Vegas, well done peeps. Also a big thank you to Tikay for keeping us all up to date with the goings on. The blogs are just superb and make me dream of going to Vegas. Plus a terrific gesture for the DTD night(s).
Yet another Thank You to Tikay and team plus the UK assistants for getting table info etc. What an amazing team effort. Will continue following Main Event to the end but guess I have to transfer my railing to other Brits left in now.
Well played Marc and Dan - dont know either of you - but I became a big follower because of Sky. Thank You
