Christ I didn't even know the dial went to a BBC 6! I'm guessing that must be Al Jolson era, right?

Going brunching again in a few minutes. Gonna gamble with the eggs benedict. Bad beat if they're hard again.
Good Sunday lined up. Brunch with Mrs J and Baby J. Shopping for a swimsuit for the boy after that.
Weather a touch cooler so I'm going to tackle the lawn. A couple of other jobs to do which and then a round of golf early evening. A few beers after that and then might just load up some poker.

Had a cracking meal at Rolleston last night. We took the Grandparents again and it was really nice. Could live there as well. Kirk Ireton, Rolleston, Dalbury Lees. They'd all do very nicely. I like  where I am now but it's getting really big. I love the gentle pace of the county villages.

    Have a nice Sunday

Hi mate...lomg time reader and a poster when not being lazy :)

Loving your recent posts mate...please keep them up and the post about the Pepsi Max incident was hilarious.  I hope there isn't a similar 'accidental' incident that befalls you when your 'friend' is around lol.

See you at the UKPC mini for at least a beer I hope?

    Went pub.
As I was waiting for an age to get served behind someone ordering 6 halfs for the bridge team I has a brainwave.
No one is allowed to nick this genius idea by the way. Gonna be on Dragons Den soon.
Move over Costa Express, I give you Peroni express. Bar staff no longer required and happy customers.
This time next year I'll be a millionaire.

Right now I'm not a millionaire though and people like Bromley keep tempting me with the mini. So close to buying in.Should just do it. It'll be a great day (hopefully 2)
Anyone want 10% with no mark up just let me know. From a large sample of 3 games I have a 33% 1st place finish in Sky live events. Worth a punt! :)
I could spout on that selling a bit would be to guard against variance but I prefer to be truthful in these matters.
It's actually so that I'll have a few quid left over to buy a couple of beers.
    ...
    Played golf early evening

Screww the mini... play the main!

apparently (screww) is a bad word which is why I put two w's.  I mean come on.  We are all over 18 here.  Whos going to be offended by that?  Moreover how am i going to give an accurate step by step update of my wardrobe and chest of drawers building on my diary for all those interested?  Pffffft.

The laptop was allowed out tonight.
I joined the Outlaws team a while ago and haven't really played much in the team games and so regged the 3 DTD games. Loads of fun, really enjoy the banter in them.
Fchd maybe interested to know that one of my team mates knocked me out the first game :)
Bust them all with no cashes. Just short of the bubble in last game.
Played a few sats and took the cash from a couple where I got seats.
1 Omaha dym and 5 normal ones. Cashed in 4. Overall up about £20 on the night. Enjoyable evening.
    ....
There's a poker player I talk to from London. He struggles to understand some of my comments. I think he's a weirdo.

    'mardy' or 'mard-****'
    'nesh'
    'jitty'

Everyone knows what they mean don't they?

In Devon on holiday last month I asked for a sausage cob and was answered with
    "what? you mean sausage bap?"

There's a book which will help you understand all things East Midlands if you're struggling

    'Ey up mi duck'

Warning- it could hurt your head

    Hi Dai
    Thanks a lot.
Good to see you put the chips to good use:) Think you came 2nd in the end?

Saw your post about the live tourney. Great result wp.
Just one thing. I think you could have negotiated a bit with the deal. I know it can be uncomfortable saying no but you've got every right to do that if you're not happy.
I bet they still would have snapped you hand off if you'd asked for another £50 or so. The short stack certainly would!  He seemed to do very well out of the deal :)

    Thank you I finished 3rd,

Looking back now yes I should have negotiated  it was only the 3rd time I had ever played live and the 1st time I had been in this position, the other 3 players put no pressure on me in fairness to them and where really friendly and helpful especially the shortstack lol (now I realise why).. I will remember your advise for next time and do some negotiating to get a better deal many thanks for your  help and advise mate and best of luck at the tables..

Hi mate...we will be there for the Saturday Day 1 and we already have the hotel booked (very organised for us) so we will be staying over.  I seem to think the day starts at 12pm so we might not have chance for dinner before.  No doubt we will find time during the course of the day and at the end when we are bagging up massive stacks we can have a couple to celebrate :)  See you there!

    Hi Adam,

    Yes, Noon start on Saturday.

I was thinking of playing this myself, actually, on the Thursday or Friday, whilst it is a little quieter.

However, if Her Ladyship is playing on the Saturday, I may defer until then. I can barely imagine how much fun it would be to share a table with the Goddess of Fashion.

    OK, we're in.

Popped over to DTD tonight and I am now regged for next Saturday Day1c.
Investors will be pleased to know that I'm on fire right now.
Played 2 Dyms, won 2 Dyms tonight. As Dev might say, I've booked the win and I'm going to spend the next couple of hours leading Derby to the the Champions League final at Fifa. Just a small matter of avoiding defeat to Barcelona at the Nou Camp after winning the semi first leg 1-0.
Wonder what reception Neymar is going to get from the home fans. Bit of a bargain at £36 million I thought!

Mrs J went quad biking up north today. I had the boy for the day on my own for the first time. Obviously I invited my Mum to spend the day with us. Had a good time. Went brunching (eggs benedict back on form). Snazzy new hair cut ready for the UKPC.

For this month I've decided to hit the dyms hard again. I've been struggling recently and so think a return to a game I'm comfortable with is a good idea.
It's gone pretty well so far and I've made a few quid at them. Rake is always decent when you grind the £20's and £30's too and I'm up to over 1200 points for the month so far.

I played the roller tonight. A bit gutted earlier when I bust the sat. I had AK v AJ to be close to a lock but the hand didn't quite go to plan.
I then decided to buy in and to be perfectly honest was a bit rubbish. Had a very odd hand early on. A player who had only 1000 chips left raised and I isolated with 10's. The sb flatted. Original raiser shoves and I 5 bet to get him heads up. SB 6 bet shoves and although it didn't make much sense I decided to fold. Sb had 88! They hit a set and so a bit of an escape. Good job I hadn't scoped them at that stage. £19,000 down on SKY.

After that I just didn't ever get going. Super aggressive table and I couldn't find any hands/spots. Got too low which is something I hate doing and was eventually put out of my misery when I got it in pre and although I hit top pair was outkicked.

    ...

A guy in the dyms is giving me a rough ride at the minute. Not really sure why. I'm either a cheat or a bad player apparently. Well, I'm not a cheat...
