Heads up Omaha Hi Lo standard result

We have a totally random deck right?

If you flop the nut straight in a heads up Omaha hi lo game, i have never seen it win any part of the pot in hundreds of the same situation.

EssexPhil will say its not unusual, its only like 20,000-1 and the like.

I would class random of being something that there would be a variety of outcomes, but when there is only ever one, it kind of reveals thats its written that way.

It can not be defended or passed off as 'unusually unlucky'. There is only ever one outcome.

The £1000 freeroll didnt show up.... and im losing 4 on the run to ClicktoWin, a guy who calls king hi on an all lo flop and he has no lo..... there is now a desperation to hold on to custom like no other time.

4 on the run. To clickToWin. Not humanly possible.

No idea what the guys who defend online decks are seeing. Just insane.

You flop straight heads up... you lose by river... thems the sky rules, there is no variation of the result of this hand.

When there is only ever one result, does this not at the very least seem odd to the strange people who think this is a random occurence? Just a little?

I love the fact that the tea club say 'your a liar' and since those lovely words i have been able to consistently post flopped quads, beaten by runner quads, bags of straight flushes in minutes and situations where there is only ever one result.... Tikay putting up 'impossible hands involving total strangers' that you will never see and i have one every time actually involving me in my screenshot bank.

I love that im able to make a statement like here... and a top example of it comes up within 20mins of posting....

Its all very odd for a normal deck.

You are calling a preflop raise with that????

I had 16% chance to scoop the pot. You had 1%!

    Where to begin.

Let's start with the positive. That is a horrible starting hand. But, in HU play (as opposed to MTTs), I think calling the raise is the correct option. He does have 80BBs, and he is priced in.

The rest? Rather sad. There are 3 low cards there. It is extremely likely in that scenario that favourite will be chop, and 2nd favourite will be scoop to A2 man. Leaving a scoop for you as the rank outsider. As it proved.

To pretend that you "never" see the straight hold up is just nonsense. The reason it would be high odds for it never to hold is simple-it isn't true.

But to pretend that you were somehow unlucky is just as ridiculous.

Just another example of "confirmation bias".

Calling the raise pre is dubious I mean what hand can you reasonably expect to be in front with pre in PLO8? and after that it seems you don't believe its possible to lose.

The sheer volatility of PLO8 will see players getting outdrawn and re outdrawn that's part of the fun but as usual you take an everyday occurance as post it as yet another example of irregularity in an attempt to provoke argument.

However it's not all bad news, permit me to introduce you to the Book Of Job.

If you think you've got it bad check his story out and understand that it turns out right in the end.

You lot always look at things that actually is not being said. Over and over. Hilarious.

The facts that im calling a preflop raise, equity, whos lucky and unlucky, is totally irrelevant. But the same people always go into equity, bad play etc etc.

ONLY ONE FACT BEING SAID HERE.... YOU FLOP NUT STRAIGHT HEADS UP, BY THE RIVER YOU WILL WIN NO PART OF THE POT. I am making no claims that i played great, he played bad, i have better equity and im unlucky not to scoop. None of these things i said.

What is hard to understand??? Essexphil... f me, this guy puts words into my mouth i am not even beginning to say and gets his nerd hat on. Perhaps just read what is being said instead of sayin how sad i am and breaking down the hand.

    This is not a fact.

This is nonsense. If you genuinely believe that "fact", you should not be playing poker.

Oh and i will just say you dont know my holding before the cards are revealed. Its easy to talk equity afterwards. If you are piling all in with just A2 and no hi here heads up, in most circumstances you will be lucky to split and virtually never scoop. Correct play would be to keep pot small as possible on the flop, not reraising.

    But crack on.

    Deluded.

1 player with a nut only 1 end goes berserk. Another player with a nut the other end also goes berserk.

1st player criticises 2nd player for bad play.

While both are playing same way. :)

"Nut straight never wins any part of the pot."

So. If you are holding 4-5-x-x.
    Flop comes down A-2-3-x.

Got the nut straight. Sure you are never winning any part of that? Really?

He can't keep the pot small once you have check raised him pot. He has nut low with straight and flush outs for the high, going for it is absolutely fine. You have a vulnerable high and a really bad low. The correct play would be to keep the pot low?

Mad that you are so confident in your ability you started this thread.

Another thing you do Essexphil is not consider notes on players. You look at the 2 revealed hole cards and you think you are a god. Guess wot? If we could see each others holdings we could probably come up with the correct play too!

So Helissio makes alot of poor mistakes and i have extensive notes. I know 100% he will go all in on the flop with just A2 here and no other low cards and no hi. Its what he does.

So when he does want all in here on a non paired rainbow with little chance of me losing the hi if he just has A2.... im thinking i could easily be the one on the freeroll and he will hit an ace or a 2 to counterfeit his hand often, whereas my hi can even improve.

All you do is look at the two sets of cards as if we have made the decision with this info too.

Im not even gonna answer the last post, its plain foolish, almost as much as deciphering play without the info on players i have.

Is correct, for your hand. Seems bad to raise and continue shovelling it in with a terrible low hand here.

This thing of flopping nut straight and always losing, does it affect everyone and all formats of PLO8 or is it just you in specific buy-in HU games?

Now you are just embarrassing yourself.

To counterfeit the hand, you have to hit both the A and the 2.

It may be the case that, due to the general standard of players at the teeny-tiny stakes you play, your play may be justifiable. But you were not unlucky.

And, if by "plain foolish" you mean mathematically incontrovertible fact, I can see why you don't want to debate from an impossible position.

There are 6 combinations of nut straight where it is mathematically impossible not to win any part of the hand.

You just keep telling yourself you are right. "Fact" indeed :)
