    NYPD Blue Opening Season 2

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooNXMvIb9bQ

Just got to the end of series 1.
    22 episodes.
Horatio was in it from the start.
Petrocelli appears at the end of the first series, as did the guy from Murder One.
Looks like there are only 12 series there now.
It started in 1993 til 2004.
    Its a very good cast.
    Still good today.

You wouldnt think that the start of this is over 30 years old.
Coming to the end of series 2.
Had a break yesterday to watch The Gone.
So many stars of the future appear.
Michael Imperioli of Sopranos fame puts in an early appearance, as do 3 of The West Wing guys, Kim Delaney, Debra Messing, Robert Costanzo, Joe Santos, the woman with a Greek name from CSI New York, as well as David Schwimmer in season 1.
Jimmy Smits takes over from Horatio.

A very young Harry Bosch with dark hair, is a doctor in series 3.

I watched Episode 1 (of 8) of Guy Ritchie's "The Gentleman" last night.

    Enjoyed it very much.

Where on earth did they get Landrover from?

Lol, I thought the same thing.
The other question I had was regarding the size of that old mans d1ck, and whether that was the reason he got the role?

TV tonight: astounding footage from Ukraine battlefields

    Ukraine: Enemy in the Woods
    9pm, BBC Two

“It would be great if I could take a pill,” says Ukrainian unit commander Vovan, “to erase my memories.” This extraordinary documentary is, mercifully, as close as most of us will ever get to the battlefield, tracking the exploits of the Berlingo battalion as they defend a railway line. It is revelatory and traumatic; there’s astounding footage of improvised grenades killing Russian soldiers, closeup battlefield triage and endless gallows humour.

Arrgghhh. Cannot believe they have remade this. Popped up in my feed about a week ago and have avoided like the plague. I only read through the description and was so disappointed.

One of the things which made the original was that Dalton was a Philosophy major who preferred not to fight. Casting Gyllenhaal as an ex UFC/MMA fighter is just wrong.

The original Roadhouse whilst still "Hollywood" was at least true to many of the nuances of working the doors. This I fear will be more of a Scott Adkins style smash fest. I will get around to watching it eventually, but I know I'm going to hate it.

    I watched "Road House".

It could have been SO good. It wasn't though. About halfway through it just got silly.

Oh, & Conor McGregor is officially the world's worst actor.

New on Prime Video and Freevee in April 2024 — all the new shows and movies to watch

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVa20liGRUM

Set in a posh New England prep school, Paul Giamatti plays a very curmudgeonly professor forced to remain on campus over the holiday to chaperone the students with nowhere to go. Unexpectedly, he find himself bonding with a trouble burnout (Dominic Sessa) and the two share a memorable holiday season together as they foster a genuine friendship and confide in each other. This Alexander Payne movie was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, and won best Supporting Actress for Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s powerful performance as the school’s cook. “The Holdovers” is hilarious and heartfelt and a certifiable must-watch movie.

Andy Sipowicz as a character has one of the best arcs in tv history. It's a long series, but very easy to watch. At the time it was ground braking for broadcast tv.

Sipowicz rules! He’s as complicated a character as ever there was on network tv, but the genius of it is how you end up pulling for him. In a few years, I’ll start it over again…

NYPD Blue is a an epic drama about the homicide division of New York’s fictional 15th precinct. Spanning 12 years the show looses and gains new characters throughout the seasons but it’s enduring through-line is about the second chances of Detective Andy Sipowicz. Sipowicz is a middle aged, alcoholic, prejudiced, sarcastic **** hole that learns how to change through working with different partners and growing his family. The show is full of great performances from actors who’d go on to be household names and storylines that easily rival other crime dramas like Law and Order. It was “cutting edge” for the 90’s and early 2000’s which may seem insensitive for fresh 2021 eyes. However, the show does hit hard themes of racism, sexism, sexual orientation, sexual identity, death, and grief that hold up. IMO there’s a reason NYPD Blue held the record for most Emmy nominations for a single season (before game of thrones last season…). If the first season hooks you, you can look forward to laughter from well crafted dialogue and tears from heartbreaking moments. It’s one of the best shows ever.
