    Munsaab

Fairly useful handicap hurdler, last seen when sixth in a competitive handicap at Leopardstown in January, who has shaped better than the bare result on all starts in this sphere. Interesting.starstarstarstarstar

    Runs in 17.50 Clonmel  09/5/13

    4th
Raced in mid-division, progress in 7th approaching final furlong, stayed on strongly in closing stages to close in 4th

    Cape Of Approval

Improved markedly last year, completing a hat-trick of handicap wins at The Curragh in September. Further progress when second in listed race over C&D on return and better than he showed latest.starstarstarstar

    Runs in 17.35 Cork (10/5/13)

Won! Tracked leader in 2nd, relegated to 3rd before halfway, headway to challenge between horses 2f out, soon ridden and led over 1f out, ran on strongly inside final furlong

    Huntsmans Close

Some strong form to his name last year, runner-up to Van Der Neer over 6f at Yarmouth prior to getting off the mark over same C&D on final start. Strong traveller and 6f may suit better.starstarstar

    10/5/13   19.40 Ascot

    Unplaced
Led, ridden over 2f out, kept slight advantage until headed 1f out, weakened final 110yds

    Majestic Moon

    11/5/13  8.05 Warwick

Brother to 7f listed winner Majestic Myles, and off mark at second attempt in maidens at Ayr (good time). Excuses for 2 nursery defeats, and he's open to lots of improvement this year (gelded).
    3rd

Held up in touch, ridden to go 3rd and hung right inside final furlong, ran on
    28/5/13 3.00Leicester
Best effort at 2 yrs when winning 6f maiden at Ayr in July. Encouraging return when 1½ lengths third of 10 to Capo Rosso at Warwick (7f), and possible he'll do better with blinkers now tried.
    2nd

Went left start, pulled hard and soon prominent, ridden over 1f out, chased winner and hung right inside final furlong, stayed on (op 6/1)

    Secret Gesture

    11/5/13 2.20 Lingfield

Galileo filly out of a half-sister to Arc winner Sagamix. Confirmed debut promise when easily landing odds in Newbury maiden in October. Has loads of potential, especially now up in trip.
    1st

Always travelling well, in touch in midfield, chased leader over 2f out, led on bit 2f out, shaken up and readily quickened clear over 1f out, not extended, impressive (op 4/5 tchd 5/4)

    31/5/13 4.00 Epsom
Well-bred filly who confirmed debut promise when easily landing odds in Newbury maiden, and most impressive when winning Lingfield Oaks Trial on return. Remains with plenty of potential.

    War Lord

    11/5/13 5.45 Thirsk

Signs of ability in 7f/1m maidens last autumn and type to do better in handicaps this year. Draw not ideal but yard could hardly be in better form and still expected to go well.

    1st
Led 1f, tracked leaders, led well over 1f out, hard ridden inside final furlong, held on towards finish (op 9/4)
    18/5/13 5.45 Thirsk  War Lord
Signs of ability in 7f/1m maidens last autumn and justified strong market support in C&D handicap on last week's return to action, always just holding Krupskaya. Definitely more to come.

No where! In touch on inside, ridden over 2f out, outpaced over 1f out (op 5-2 tchd 3-1tchd 10-3 in a place)

    Well Painted

    11/5/13  3.50 Ascot

Overcame greenness to make a winning start over 7f in May. Better form in handicaps since and surprising if there weren't more to come in 2013. Will need to be cherry ripe here though.

    Unplaced!
    Towards rear most of way

    21/5/13  5.30 Newcastle
Overcame greenness to make a winning start over 7f in May. Better form in handicaps since and surprising if there weren't more to come in 2013, but he shaped as if amiss on reappearance.

Prominent, effort and ridden over 2f out, no extra approaching final furlong (tchd 3/1)

    Plutocracy

    13/5/13  8.20 Windsor

Steady progress in 2-y-o maidens and likely to do better this year up in trip and now going into handicaps. Yard among the winners in recent days.

    Winner!
Slowly into stride, soon chasing leaders, went 2nd 3f out, led 2f out, soon ridden and edged left, in command final furlong, stayed on well

    20/5/13 8.50 Leicester
Steady progress in 2-y-o maidens, and no surprise to see him step up markedly to score on return/handicap debut at Windsor (11.6f) a week ago. Plenty more to come, and leading claims again.

    Winner
Always prominent, ridden to chase leader over 1f out, led inside final furlong, ran on well, readily (op 8/11)

    Snakes And Ladders

    15/5/13  8.50 Naas

Modest form in maidens at 2 yrs and again not knocked about when sixth in maiden at the Curragh on return in March. Bit better when fourth on recent handicap bow on first crack at 1m.

    Winner!

Waited with towards rear, not clear run when progress under 3f out, switched right to stands' side, stayed on strongly into 4th entering final furlong, led on line

    Kiwayu

    16/5/13  7.00 Newmarket

Improved for being stepped upto 1½m last season, as well as the introduction of the tongue tie. Has won following an absence before, therefore market check advised on debut for new yard.

    No where!
Held up in touch towards rear, ridden and effort 2f out, keeping on but no threat to winner when pushed left entering final furlong, no impression after (op 13/2 tchd 11/2)

    Nabucco

    17/5/13 4.05 Newmarket

Out of 1000 Guineas winner Cape Verdi and showed progressive form in maidens last year, winning at Windsor. Proved a let down on handicap bow in July but well worth another chance.

    3rd
Chased leader until ridden to lead over 2f out, driven and headed over 1f out, kept on same pace inside final furlong, lost 2nd close home (op 9/2)

    Biographer

    18/5/13 2.20 Newmarket
Takes the eye on looks and progressing along the right lines, runner-up in the Melrose at York before gaining third career win in Ascot listed event over this trip in October. More to come.

    Unplaced.
Held up, headway over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on (op 11-2)

    Burning Blaze

    2.55 Newmarket

Looked promising when winning a 6f maiden at York in July, and bounced back when third in a heavy-grpound nursery there in October, despite finding the test too much. Gelded since, and will do better.

    No where!
Held up, switched right 2f out, ridden over 1f out, not clear run inside final furlong, ran on towards finish, never nearer (op 10-1)

    Alcaeus

    20/5/13 5.40 Redcar

Brother to useful 1½m winner Albert Bridge. Best effort in 7f maidens at Kempton at 2 yrs when fourth of 9 on second start. Will be suited by 1¼m this year, and sure to make an impact in handicaps.

    Winner
Chased leaders, close 2nd over 5f out, driven to lead over 2f out, kept on, all out (op 9/4 tchd 15/8)
    30/5/13 5.10 Hamilton

Brother to useful 1½m/13f winner Albert Bridge. Unplaced in trio of 7f maidens at 2 yrs, but showed improved form to land 1¼m Redcar handicap recently, and likely to defy 6 lb penalty here.

    Winner.
Tracked leaders, effort when not much room over 2f out, ridden to lead over 1f out, stayed on well final furlong (op 8/15 tchd 8/13)

       31/5/13   6.20 Bath Roanne

Improved for debut when fourth in 7f Leicester maiden in October, and found her stamina stretched when filling same spot on handicap debut here (1m) in April, but below form at former venue since.

    Unplaced.
Chased leaders, driven to dispute 2nd well over 1f out, easily outpaced final furlong (op 13/2 tchd 7/1)

4.15 Leopardstown  Battle Of Marengo 4/7 Nice winner! 12/5/13  15.55 Leopardstown Went from strength to strength at 2 yrs and improved again when landing the C&D Ballysax Stakes on return last month, proving 1¾ lengths too strong for Sugar Boy (winner since). Hard to oppose. 1st. Tracked leader in 2nd, led after 4f, ridden over 1f out, kept on strongly final furlong, comfortably opened 1/5

01/6/13 4.00 Epsom Battle Of Marengo

Done little wrong since debut, improving again when winning Derrinstown Trial at Leopardstown, beating Criterium winner Loch Garman. Step up in trip will suit in first-time cheekpieces.

    Unplaced.
Chased leaders until led over 9f out, headed 6f out, 2nd straight, ridden to lead again 3f out, headed over 1f out, kept on same pace under pressure final furlong, lost 2 places last strides (op 13/2)

Greeleys Love(one to follow in handicaps, trained by Kevin Ryan last season, now with Mark Johnston) 13/5/13 6.50 Windsor 2nd! Made most, edged left over 3f out, ridden and hung left over 1f out, narrowly headed inside final furlong, stayed on, held nearing finish (Built on promise shown in maidens when making winning handicap bow for Kevin Ryan last autumn. Bit disappointing when well-held fifth on reappearance but probably worth another chance.) 21/5/13  7.50 Pontefract Improved to make winning handicap bow for Kevin Ryan last autumn. Bounced back from poor reappearance when second at Windsor (1¼m) last week and claims if blinkers see him find a bit more. unplaced   Slowly into stride, soon tracking leaders, took keen hold, effort over 3f out, outpaced over 2f out, kept on final furlong, took modest 3rd towards finish (tchd 11/2)

Improved to make winning handicap bow for Kevin Ryan last autumn. Bounced back from poor reappearance when second at Windsor (1¼m) but disappointed in blinkers next time. Visor now tried.

    2nd.

Dwelt, took keen hold, headway into midfield after 2f out, headway under pressure and edging left just over 2f out, chased leading pair over 1f out, kept on to go 2nd last strides (op 10/1

Took 6 attempts to get off the mark but still seems to be going the right way nevertheless. However, opening mark looks a bit harsh.

Unplaced. Held up in last pair, headway into midfield but still plenty to do 2f out, never going to reach leaders and not given too hard a time after, kept on inside final furlong (op 5/1 tchd 4/1)

    01/6/13 4.00 Epsom Galileo Rock

Looks all stamina, closely related to high-class stayer Saddler's Rock. Not beaten far in 1¼m Sandown Classic Trial on return and will relish longer trip, but possibly more of a Leger type.

    3rd.
Took keen hold, chased leaders, 3rd straight, driven and chased leader 3f out until 2f out, kept on well but one pace inside final furlong

    Foxtrot Romeo

    03/6/13  3.05 Naas

Second in last year's 2000 Guineas and should have come on for Curragh return for new yard. Interesting dropped in grade for Johnny Murtagh with headgear fitted.
    Unplaced.
In rear of mid-division, ridden from 3f out and soon no impression under pressure, eased towards finish
