You have a solid game, mate (despite the odd spewy barrel :p) so I'm sure you will reach your target and be playing with the bigger boys soon.

lol just replied to your message and it then said I wasn't logged in, hate when that happens haha

    Thanks Brian!

Still got a lot to learn and as they say it's a never ending game, but am pretty confident one day I will be beating reasonable buy in mtts and cash, that's the bigger picture goal anyway!

    Hey mate,

    Thanks,

Yeah hopefully will be playing higher levels by about xmas time.

Cash and MTTs, probably going to give MTTs a good going first. Playing bigger games, and main events using sats to get in a lot cheaper.

How are you doing? Enjoy the holiday next week.

Today was really going to have a go at cash again, which i did. It went pretty badly from start to finish, i ran really bad, as well as misplaying a lot of spots. Confidence was pretty low. This week has just been a sustained period of not winning. Pretty weird, cause before this week i was pretty much winning 5 days out of 6 when i was playing.

No idea if it is just me or variance.

I played a couple of tournies tonight, and thankfully ended up 2nd in the 7:15 deepstack game, which helps a good amount for the losses in the last few days.

I also ended up qualifying for the £11 BH through the 7 o clock freeroll, unfortunatly i ran pretty bad in it and didnt even pick up any bounties. My exit hand was AK versus KQ - they flopped a straight.

Overall today started bad, but ended up on a positive note.

Been really weird this week having so many losing days. I think it might be a case of when you are winning, it all goes right for you so when you start playing you expect to win, and when your losing, maybe some where you are saying this is going to be a bad session. Tho i really thought i was gonna crush cash today and end up loads of buy ins up.

Last night and today have been pretty decent.

Running total, £190 withdrawn since 24/09, £810 to go

Almost 20% of the way there! Will be really hard to do this by Xmas time

Not played much the last few days apart from a few HU games, 1 hour of cash tonight and the DTD games on monday. I did quite well apart from bricking all 3 of the DTD games!

I was thinking at some point next year, or Christmas time (probably a good time for it with all the merry Xmas goers!) having a go at cash in the casino.

To start with i'm going to try 50nl, atleast some casinos do this.

I'm pretty sure now it should be easy enough to spot those who play poker serioussly, and those who are just there for a bit of fun.

I think overall i'll probably play pretty tight and aggressive and keep bluffing to a minimum, pretty sure that's the best way to play cause most casino cash games i've seen people don't fold and like to call!

I won't have any particular "bank roll" for this as people would talk about it online. Plan is 2 set aside a few hundred quid, if things dont go well with it then it'll be an experience, if things go well/ i run good i could turn it into a decent amount. Any thoughts on Casino cash games?

The most important thing about cash in the casinos is that a lot of what you learned from the virtual felt goes out the window. Live poker is (obviously) much more about observation than its online sibling. There is no timebar, and snap decisions are much more rare. It is a very different game at times.

Just be careful, because while I do believe it's usually softer than the games you'll get online at the same level, there are always sharks out there who make it their business to sniff out the rookies.

Been a while since I updated, will post tomorrow how October went, been a pretty funny month. Bit of good and a bit of bad, one of the most up and down months I've had between running great and running terrible. The running terrible was compounded by playing bad and chasing losses. I had my worst day in October 3months, I lost £60 one night, thanks to playing a mastercash 20nl table and lost a 200 bb pot against DTM with pocket kings, I called his all in even though I knew I was beat, and a shortstack was already in, so was getting to see his cards anyway lol. It was not that bad a board, but was pretty obvious top pair was no use. I was on tilt and wasn't folding.

Played some live cash as well, which went really well, i'll update tomorrow.

New computer is in, it's got windows 8 so is taking a bit of getting used to.

Not played much online poker at all in the last week.

Stats for MTT's / HU Games, thanks k8lou!

    mtts, played 46profit/loss -£50stts 74 playedprofit loss -£4

    HU Turbo Games

Pretty disappointed with the Sit and Go HU Turbo stats, probably the first time in a long time I've had a minus for the month. I didn't expect this to be a minus to be honest, was looking at probably break even. The new structure was introduced, which in the first 10 games I did play pretty bad and lost a good few, but i'm more used to the new structure now so nothing to worry about.

    MTTs

The biggest loss from MTT's came from a BH main event (£33 bi) which I got into for nothing so didn't cost anything, but still shows as a loss on Sharkscope, clearly I didn't cash in it either!

The real loss is minus £17, I also played in a trubo Tuesday main event (£11) which I satted into, again never cashed, and for some reason the win in the sat (it was a 60p all in) did not show as plus £11 on sharkscope.

I've played in a few of the DTD games on a Monday, with no real success as well as other MTTs, the £1 / £2/ orfie £3 deepstacks.

In actualy monetary terms (what i'm down) is probably close to £10, or even under that. Not a very good month for MTT's, but in saying that in cost terms it's not a lot at all.

    Cash

Cash I am up from online cash poker, not a great amount, I had a bad day where I lost £60 2 days later I won £50 back which almost counteracted the silliness of throwing away money! There has been a few more losing days, than at any other time over the last few days, in monetary terms, i'm only up about £50 overall for October which is my worse month in 5 months.

    Live Cash

I had a dabble at this, will post up a bit later how it went, but i'm up £300 from this which i'm really happy with.

    November and beyond

I've decided to re-deposit winnings from my poker withdrawels, the winnings from live cash into my account so that it is £1000, instead of waiting any longer.

I'm going to have a shot at higher games, I think I will do pretty well. I'm going to set myself a stop loss of £200, if I fall below -200 I will go back to rebuilding, doubt this will be the case, that's just a worse case scenario.

For the next while my objective is to withdraw £400 per month while retaining atleast £1000.

    Wish me luck!

    Sigh. I wish I could have a £10 MTT monthly loss :(

You seem quite keen to always have objectives. Why not just throw them out the window and just play and enjoy the game? If you bink a few quid then great, if not then just grind away whilst online. You appear to have very good BRM so you'll never go bust or anything. It won't be easy to withdraw £400 a month whilst still retaining the bag of sand (the V word) but I wish you well in your quest.

You've got a healthy roll, enjoy it without putting needless pressure on yourself innit.

Well done with the live cash mate.
Don't see you having any problem doing well moving up. Just remember you don't have to win every pot you play.

By the way. 2 diaries is surely a bit big time!
Oh and don't worry about Chinese Frankiie. Only know him to say hello to but hes a DTD reg and he's known as a nice guy. For some reason though he always gives new posters a hard time, if they don't include enough information about themselves. Mothers maiden name and National Insurance  number etc

thanks mate, for sure avoiding your tables!

hh; i know what you are saying, but it's good to have something to work towards. I think £400 is definatly achievable from a £1000 bankroll. Ultimatly, i would like to move up the levels at cash over the next year. That pretty much hinges on me improving a fair bit aswell. If i drop below 1k there would be no withdrawels. I do enjoy poker, especially taking money out! It's really sweet. I would never want to play poker full time, i'm just happy to take an income from what is a hobby.

lol Paul i'm gonna post results in the other diary to keep me focussed and on track. Chinese Frankie seems like a cool guy and clearly likes an autobiography lol I remember hearing a story once about a poker player that owned a fish and chip shop, can't even remember the story was now but it was pretty funny, it probably was Frankie.
