Not too many hands of note, but I came a purler very early in the £16.50.

    I had 2-2-x-x, & the flop was 2-3-3.

I bet it every street, & kinda guessed the other chap had the 3 in his hand. He's entitled to call me down with the 3 of course, though he could have had A-4 or similar. Anyway, he had 3-K & rivered the K for the bigger boat. Standard stuff really, don't blame him for calling all the way, & I suppose I could have played it slower. But with so many blockers, I was pretty sure I was ahead unless he improved. Which he did.

That left me with about 200 chips at 25-50, so I adopted a Markycash range - any 4 will do - & got lucky a few times to eventually become chippie, & end up coming 2nd, so I guess I got pretty lucky there.

Not sure how I lost the £11er. Probably Eon busted me. Nothing new there, then.

Most enjoyable, might have another bash tonight, but gonna watch Villa thrash Leeds United first.

Strange how, despite my lengthy absence, I pretty much knew what everyone would do in given spots, & what their ranges were.

Some guys are impossible to read though. Tiga, well, completely unpredictable, & does THE most unorthodox things, and that makes him quite tough to play. He limped from a 7 Bigs stack, called a pot bet behind, then folded to a river bet, which had my eyes popping out of my head, but he caught me a few times. The glorious uncertainty of poker.

Was great fun, & from memory, crossed swords with the likes of Vespa, Whizzy, Hendo Ol Lad, The Chump (A J MILTON), Eon, of course, Adzy, Pommy, chiggy, JimJan, plus those I've forgotten, sorry. And a few new faces, too, of whom "Kettle" was one.

Might see a few of you again tonight, but if so, it won't be until round 9 or 10pm. If there are any £11 &/or £16.50's going at that time, count me in.

Good to see you back playing Tony
You should pop over to the hold em dym tables as well. I’m certain you’d get a very warm welcome.

    Yeah, I bet I would........

    £16.50s!!!!!!

I didn’t realise that Sky still ran these at plo8.
I reluctantly understood why they were removed at Holdem tables, they were the least popular stake but I’d be amazed if they didn’t run more frequently than the Omaha dyms.

Times have changed though. I think it would be worth reinstating then on a trial basis.
For a number of reasons, Sky leaving raketherake and turbos etc, the £22s and above have really started to struggle over the last year

£5.50s run just the same and £11s, while nowhere near the traffic of old, still run fairly frequently.
Maybe an in between level, £16.50s, might pick up some traffic from the guys who would like to play higher but £22 is too much of a jump.

It wouldn’t really be a problem of cluttering the lobby. Just put 2 in there and only respawn as they fill.

I can ask the question, & in fact, have now done so.

Decided to dip my toe in the water last night. It's been over 8 months since I last played any PLO8 DYM's, so I expected to be a bit ring rusty. Wrong. Was VERY ring rusty.

    Results first;

    £3.30, P7, W4, L3

    £5.50, P3, W1, L2

    £11, P1, W0, L1

    £16.50 - P1, W1, L0

    So, in total, P12, W6, L6.

Could have been worse I suppose. Allowing for Reg Fees, ended up losing £3.10 on the session. Not bad really, would cost me that to go out for a meal with Gill, or a trip to the Cinema to watch a film.

Anything you want from the Poundsaver menu at McD's and split a juice? :D Thought I was tight but a meal for 2 for £3.10, I need some lessons from you ;-)

Brilliant that you are back playing! Hopefully catch a game soon :)

Are you now fully recovered from your Humpty Dumpty injury on the IOW last year?

Based on how I played last night, make that quadruple value for the others.

Still, if things go wrong, we can always emulate Markycash and get it in with any 4.

It is all luck you know! Read it in a thread on here today.

Just close your eyes, pick a random moment and shove all your chips into the middle. You will have as much chance as anyone else of winning. Works for me :D

    Thanks Nick.

Nope, no problems last night with the urge to smoke, though I only played a short session, so was not really tested.

How was your trip to London?

Decided to watch Leeds v Villa before I played some poker last night. Strange game. First half, Villa offered zero threat, & were lucky to make half-time only 1 down. Second half was completely different, no idea what Brucey said to his players, but they were all over Leeds, & had 85% possession for the first 10 minutes.

I suppose 1-1 was a fair result in the end, though Villa maybe shaded it overall.

It got a bit feisty near the end, but nothing too bad. Good game to watch actually.

    Just 7 games last night.

Planned to play longer, but traffic was thin, with no sign of any bigger games getting started. I struggle to concentrate with just 2 or 3 tables. It's OK if they are all at the sharp end - even 1 game is OK at that stage - but with blinds 25-50, & half the table limping, it's not really my cup of tea. So with 2 or 3 games at the sharp end, & very light traffic, I decided to up stumps rather than start 1 or 2 new games.

Results were good though - I so nearly made a full house, winning the first 6 of the 7, but the clean sweep eluded me, due, I suppose, to my luck running out.

    Enjoyed it though.

    £3.30, P4, W4, L0

    £5.50, P3, W2, L1

Profit on the day = £14.30.

I'd love to repeat that 365 days of the year - that'd be almost £5,000. Unforch, Lady Variance is famously fickle, & it does not work like that. One can but dream.
