    £5, P10, W6, L4

    £10, P3, W3, L0

    £15, P1, W1, L0

    Profit on session, £42.20.

That's what can happen when you run good.

I put a nasty beat on @HENDRIK62 last night.

He jammed his last chips in with a decent hand, & I did a Markycash impression, & called him with a complete bag of spanners, & promptly flopped the lot, both ends, for a scoopio.

Anyone want to guess what Hendrik typed in the chat box afterwards?

Clue - It was not "well done mate, delighted for you".

Its easy to make excuses - it's run bad - and maybe it is bad play, only the long term will tell us.

Yeah, can't disagree with that. Making excuse is the easiest thing to do but sometimes you can play well and run badly, others you can play badly and run well, it's just the nature of the game. The worst ones are where you play badly and run badly. In the long term things balance themselves out so if you're in profit long term, you just have to look at the bigger picture and accept that good and bad runs will happen, and will end at some point.

What are these £15 dyms you speak of?
They sound fun and a nice bridge between £10s and £20s

Great that you are back playing mate. I wouldn't worry about the numbers, I am sure you will settle down and start crushing on that front.

Thanks for the CL reminder. I had completely forgot there was footy on tonight.

Can we assume that the mighty Celtic won again? They certainly have an impressive record in the CL. As in impressively awful.

If Celtic were an English team, what league do you think they'd be in?

    League 1 maybe?

Trying to remember... How did Man City get on versus us in the CL last year? I am sure they must have hammered us but cannot recall that happening for some reason.

    ;)

I did see your note a few days ago, & I passed the request up to the Office, but I never heard back, so I assumed that was a "no".

An acceptable session last night. Traffic was fairly light, so I played a few £3ers as well as the £5, £10 & £15 jobbies.

Oddly, the £3 games were easily the toughest, the "least value", & much harder to win than the £5, £10 & £15 games.

Made a small profit. Not great, but I think I'd settle for that if I could repeat it 365 days per year.

    £3, P3, W1, L2

    £5, P7, W5, L2

    £10, P3, W2, L1

    £15, P2, W1, L1

    Profit on night £11.60.

    Some interesting visitors last night.

MOTHER joined us, which was good to see. She mainly plays NLH DYM's these days. I'm not usually nice to her, but I must say she has a great game, especially for one who is so old.

The Hippo ( @ctbn ) regged for a £15 by mistake, & promptly busted me with a @Markycash type bag of spanners. That loss caused me a £30 swing, so I'd have made over £40 on the night if he'd not turned up. Call again Hippo, but don't rush, like.

A new one (to me) was @Simmy4k who played a bunch. I don't know him, but he seemed a decent guy. I had marked "AWAY" on all tables whilst I popped for a wee, & he was good enough to type in the chat box "hi tikay, you are away on the £15 table". Proper gent by the sound of it. The regulars always do that, God bless them, but many don't, so I thought it was a nice gesture.

It's funny I was going to type something and then you came back, I was going to type 'Don't let Tikay know he's sitting out'.

I hope you're managing to stay of the ciggies with all these swings you speak of Tikay.

    Ohh and Merry Xmas :)

What were you doing still up at 0518?

No problem with the smoking at the mo, certainly not one caused by playing poker. It was not stress or tension that caused me to smoke during poker sessions, it was just addiction I suppose - sat still for 4 or 5 hours at a time, it seemed natural to light up every half hour or so.

Merry Xmas to you too Andy. What is your Christmas routine? Decorations, tree, wrapped presents & all that malarky?

    Last night's results.

To save you the bother of reading further, they were terrible.

    £3 P7, W1, L6

    £5, P8, W4, L4

    Loss on night ££21.10
  • Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,150

How did I manage to play 8 x £3 games & lose 7 of them?

Just one of those nights I think, where my timing, my judgement & my "reads" were all wrong.

Ran into Aces more times than I care to remember, & there were a lot of "sticky" players around, who never once raised but called everything, no matter what.

One of those nights? The Eagles said it better back in 1977. Note the amazing Joe Walsh wearing his red bandana - I've got one exactly the same. Joe might just be my favourite guitarist of all time, though how he performed when drugged up to the eyeballs & full of alcohol is a mystery. If you think the likes of Keith Richards, Steven Tyler & Anthony Keidis did well to survive drug addiction, then treble it - that's Joe Walsh. I'm happy to report that he's clean now though. God bless Joe Walsh.
