Oh my, there was blood on the carpets, walls, ceilings, everything last night.
After 9 games I was winning 6-3, & then the wheels came off spectacularly.
It was a mixture of things - bad play, inability to use the Fold Button, and a bit of run bad.
Jeez, it was horrible.
Here's the numbers. Warning, this is nasty.
£3, P9, W6, L3
£5, P7, W1, L6
£10, P2, W0, L2
£15, P1, W0, L1
Loss on session - £60.70.
Annualised, that'd come to £22,000. Loss.
I just kept plugging on, thinking I could get out of it. And the more I played, the worse it got. Lost the last EIGHT on the bounce. That takes a bit of doing in PLO8 DYM's, let me tell you.
The recovery mission from Saturday's debacle commenced last night. Cant exactly say I was minting it, but I did at least get back on the winning trail.
£3, P7, W3, L4
£5, P6, W4, L2
£11, P2, W1, L1
£15, P1, W1, L0
Profit on night a massive £13.10. Still, it beats a loss.
In effect profit or loss on the night all hinged on my very last game, which was a £15 affair, & I managed to sneak into 3rd place after being in a lot of trouble early doors. Luckily, it was my last table, so one-tabling I could really concentrate.
Enjoyable session, only 16 games but traffic was a bit light.
Your results will improve as you get to know some of the new influx of players.
Having said that I took a right hammering last night
You ran pretty bad in a few spots from what I saw. Think you & I got it all-in in one DYM in Level 1 or 2, we both had the Aces bit yours were much better, as I had no low so you were freerolling one end. I got there though, with a runner runner flush. Ugly stuff.
It is interesting trying to suss out all the "new" players, those that have arrived in my absence. One chap who I had to watch for a while was steeil, who is extremely active.
Interesting session last night, 15 games, all of which were £5, £10 or £15.
That's good, or it should be, but when you lose 6 of the first 7 & are already £45 down, maybe its not so good.
Its easy to make excuses - it's run bad - and maybe it is bad play, only the long term will tell us. Think I got it all-in pre 5 times in Levels 1 or 2 with excellent holdings - & I'm not known for getting it in light early doors, except in dire circumstances - and lost every time.
Ho hum.
Anyway, in the end, a £26.40 loss almost seemed like a profit, as I ran a little better in the last 8 games.
Good atmo on the tables, & I appreciated the warm comments from many of the lads, including Whizzy, SAFC, Nick, Mick & a few others.
Here's the nitty gritty.
£5, P9, W2, L7
£10, P5, W2, L3
£15, P1, W1, L0
I also used 2 x £2.30 tokens which I found nestled in my account. Happy Days.
Loss = £26.40
Undecided whether to watch CL football tonight, or set fire to another pile of £10 notes. Probably the latter.
You obv had an early bath last night as you had retired when I came out to play. Whizzy mentioned you had taken a bit of a mauling but no doubt you will turn it around soon. Good to see you back on the tables.

You won the only £15er , otherwise that could have been really bad. I myself started well, a couple of , shall we say , optimistic calls led to some bad beats for others including yourself. However, later I lost the last two £11 games I played, meaning I came away with a £4 profit. It was great to have you back, always good to have someone who seems to get my weird throwaway lines in the chat box as well. Do not fret the losses at the moment, you know what to do and that fickle mistress lady luck will smile on you soon enough. Nick
Great to see you back playing regularly Tikay, I trust that you are not getting any ciggy cravings or at least managing to keep them at bay if you do. It's really not worth it if it leads you back to the dreaded death sticks.
pompeynic mentioned the fickle mistress Lady Luck.
Maybe she was gagging for it last night, but she definitely took a shine to me. My results were excellent, winning 10 from 15, but more importantly, I played 3 @ £10 & 1 @ 15 & won all 4. What a difference that makes.

Ugh. It was THAT bad.
Wow, could have sworn it was last year.

Do you ever wonder why folks choose the aliases they do?
I mean, "Pompeynic", "tikay1" MattBates etc are obvious.
Others, though, do make you think. 2 of my opponents last night went by the aliases of jackmeoff, & SCUMQUEEN.
Quite so, quite so.
Imagine the hoohah that the Team Tin Hat would make if I won one of those. Incred.
I guess you've tempted me now. At least we know who to blame if I knock it in again.
Thanks for the CL reminder. I had completely forgot there was footy on tonight.
Good to see you back on the tables.

If Celtic were an English team, what league do you think they'd be in?
League 1 maybe?
@pompeynic @Enut @pomfrittes
Thanks for the kind comments lads, it's good to be back.
No cigarette cravings so far.
Don't think I'll ever return to 30 games or more per session, 7 nights a week, but hopefully I'll play regularly & sensibly.
