What a day to be alive. This was taken at 9.30am this morning whilst in my shorts and T-shirt taking a certain young lady for her morning jaunt. Don't you just love summer!
What I did find surprising was the amount of dog walkers we encountered. We walk these fields 3 or 4 times a week at this time of day and bump into the occasional four legged friend but this morning there were literally 10's of dogs out and about. Do they only come out when the sun is blazing down?
Our lass is still in New York and sent me this last night with the caption $168 for a ticket, just too expensive for us. I would of been soooo jealous if she had gone. One for the bucket list is to go to a huge fight in America.
Poker continues to run good at the moment and last night I managed to take down 4th in the £1k Midnight Express. Couldn't believe how well LolOlloool ran on the last couple of tables as I saw him win 6 all-ins from behind, including my final hand. At the moment variance is smiling on me and with this comes increased confidence and a better game. Hoping to have a real good showing over the last couple of days of UKOPS and with no work until Wednesday, the wife away until Wednesday and no jobs to do around the house there really is no excuse. The only stumbling block maybe The Grove and the lure of the Moonshine.
Could do with a bit of advice on the above hand. Is this the correct play or should I be folding to the 3-bet and what is the best play if they 3-bet shove all-in. Find myself in this situation on numerous occasions.
In this spot you have been 3b when you opened utg so our perceived range is pretty strong yet you have been 3b. Given that 66 doesn't play very well given that information we just need to stick it in the bin.

Cheers Matt, would you even be playing 66 to start with?
Do you not think though that having already invested in the pot and the possibilities of being up against AK, AQ and possibly smaller pocket pairs and the chance of folding out 7,7 to 10,10makes this a shove in the long term. Really appreciate your views.
Part of this depends on how you are viewed, what sort of range you are deemed to be opening from utg. Are your opponents going to 3b your utg open with worse pairs for example? You need to work out ranges to assess whether or not it is a good shove. The ranges will be opponent specific and specific to you and your image.
Been playing 10p/20p last couple of days, with some success. Interesting hand from end of session tonight. Did I make the correct lay down long-term or is it too nitty? Thoughts appreciated.
Without beating around the bush, this is a terrible fold imo.
Once everyone has ripped in their stack on the flop, you are left with the luxury of being last to decide and so have an exact picture of the odds you're being offered. You need to be winning 24% of the time for this to be a profitable call and even if one of your opponents has the current nuts (53), you're still going to win around 35% of the time and so make money in this spot.
Although you're obviously in a bit of trouble vs 66, this is such a dynamic low board with draws galore and a ton of over pairs in your opponents ranges, so you can't be too afraid of just that one specific hand. I know it can get a little scarier when multiple players are happy to pile the money in, but it's important to remember that your pot odds are going through the roof at a far greater rate than your equity is falling.

So a review of April shows a profit on the poker front of £338, considerably helped by 2 MTT cashes of over £300 and not particularly helped by my propensity to enter too many £22 UKOPS and to lose at 10p/20p cash. The plan for the month is to really focus on the 10p/20p tables, with the odd MTT thrown in with an £11 or less buy in. Having reviewed some of my play on the cash tables there is a common theme of getting into pots with nice looking hands, suited connectors etc, out of position and for too much money. Going forward I will be tightening up my range out of position and will also be taking a less aggressive approach to post flop play. Anyway that's the plan. Villa are now in the play-offs with West Brom to look forward to and believe me this will be a tough encounter over 2 legs, particularly with the deciding leg being at The Hawthorns, and then there is the possibility of a re-match with the dirty, cheating team from Yorkshire that play in white. As you can probably imagine being local to the Leeds area I took a bit of hammer on Sunday and Monday and cannot wait for the chance for revenge, fingers crossed. As for a certain young man called Bamford don't even get me started. I am now in my new role at work, and although there is a bit of work to do around getting the RPRPRT (Right People Right Place Right Time), once this is completed the numbers should start improving and life at work should become a little less stressful. Having said that it is retail and the goalposts seem to move on a daily basis. This coming month I have a week off at the end and will be spending a few days in Exmouth at my father's along with Willow, Mrs Trebor and Daughter Trebor, as she starts her 4 month break from Uni, how I miss those days. I also have a weekend away mid March at my Great Niece's christening. So all in all a good month on the agenda. In sad news I was really impacted by the horrific death in the village of a young man who took his own life. He leaves a young wife and small lad and it really bought home what a stressful and pressurised world we live in. I wasn't what you would call a friend but he was one of those blokes who always had time for a chat and genuinely seemed happy with his lot, content with going on walks with his dog, Wilma (always thought it was a great name for a dog particularly when hollering it to come) and son and popping in The Grove for a beer or 4. It's funny how it has really got to me and has made me far more considerate of people who are suffering in silence and the devastating affect mental health can have on a person and their loved ones. May he Rest In Peace.
Noticed today that it is 9 years ago this month since I first posted on The Forum and 5 years ago this month that I started this diary. 5 years of my life in writing and on the internet. Not sure how may people read this diary but for myself it is amazing to be able to read back over the last five years and remember some of the ups and downs of life and poker. Moving home, the holidays, kids spreading their wings, moving jobs, following Villa, the run goods, the run bads, 3rd at SPT Manchester, the falling in love with Willow. One day I may even let the Mrs read it. For those of you who think about starting a diary I would highly recommend it, but do it for yourself. For those of you who have been readers since day one, and particularly those who have contributed, I Thank You and hope you have enjoyed the ride. Here's to the next five years!
Nice job on 5 years of blogging here - especially given these things don't always get the feedback they deserve. I just sincerely hope that both Sky Poker and this forum will still be around 5 years from now.

Fingers crossed for the mighty Villa this weekend
Amen to that.
If it's not, it won't be due to lack of effort.
We shall see.......
That's why we need as may people as possible posting on here so the suits can see how big a part this forum plays in the whole SkyPoker experience.

That's exactly correct.
I can honestly say I'm giving it my best shot, but oh my, it's uphill sometimes.
As it happens, it's been a very good day today.
All rather boring this, or it will be to to many readers, but the Forum Software has various means of measuring Forum Usage, the most important of which are Views & Posts.
I check these daily, first job I do each morning is take a reading from the "Dashboard".
One extraordinary stat is that, every day, without fail, this Forum gets forty (40) times more Views than Posts. Extraordinary.
In better news, y-o-y Forum usage has increased significantly in the last 3 months & we are way above 2018 levels, as much as double in some cases.
If the new owners eventually decide to close the Forum, well so be it, but the plan is to give them a tough decision if that's what they want.

Who cares about UKOPS!
And to top it off Villa now 9 on the bounce.
Grealish must be getting a call up soon. Talent deserves the recognition.

Not a bad start to UKOPS Sunday.
1 from 1, long may it continue.
Off for a walk and a pint or two, see you later.

Thanks for the update @68Trebor.
What a terrible story that was of the young man who took his life.
Society still has a long way to go as to relating to those with mental health issues, or who are struggling with life's problems.
Can't begin to imagine how his Widow is feeling.

This has always been a very enjoyable read, but I'm surprised it has been going 5 years, I'd have guessed 2.
Long may it last.
When, where & against whom, do Villa's play-off adventures start?
Fingers crossed for the mighty Villa this weekend
