I know, that is why I replied tongue and cheek originally. You asked me to expand though and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to spam a wall of text onto the forum
In Response to Re: Is There Money To Be Had? : You got any evidence to suggest £5bh are frustrating? Personally I find them good fun, full of people enjoying themselves who dont care about the money Posted by MattBates
Been playing on sky poker since 2013 and i would say most players getting upset in the chatbox is not about losing there £ some players just hate losing or the way they lost can sometimes be hard to take i.e a player with a bad hand preflop bad hand after the flop keeps on betting then hits on the turn and the river.
But then again i play most of the time on PL08 and they is not many bad words said. Win or lose it's always a good game.
As you say swanstu at least we're all having fun or we would not play.

Not surprised that you're not getting upset, things being going fairly 'well' for you recent?

Funny, those were exactly one of the games I was thinking of when I posted the 'chat-box' comment earlier.
I'm sure all those lovely chat messages are about the 'aesthetics of the game', not whether someone had their bank and money reduced..............

That is true swanstu but i'am still a losing player who stands by my comments about the chatbox. I enjoy a game of poker to chill out after a day at work to me it's just a bit of fun and i enjoy the challenge of trying to beat the PL08 regulars, if i win happy day if i lose it's ok as long as i keep within my limit's. Keep it fun or what's the point of playing?
In Response to Re: Is There Money To Be Had? : I would suggest it extremely common in golf. From low handicap golfers (better than most at their respective clubs, lauded and applauded by their peers): If only they had the 'special' clubs the pros use, the time to practice or the access to experts they have, it would only be a matter of time before they were trouncing these overrated pros... Amatuer coaches (the ones who have never spent a day in the trenches): Yeah what do these coaches know, I could get Rory hitting it straighter in no time... And my personal favourites the professional 'coaches' who have never even tried to expand their knowledge base, yet criticise every and any others who veer from their idea of what is correct. They have a special form of cognitive dissonance (a bit like a security blanket, a form of denial very similar to losing poker players who cannot accept that anything they are doing could be wrong or outdated) Posted by HENDRIK62
How bizarre! Never would have thought about it. Reminds me of poker players who assume they would crush high stakes if only they had the funds to play there.

Not been following this thread, but that is an excellent analogy from Hendrik. I have previously tried to improve using what I think the British Cycling team did - marginal gains. By just improving small amounts in certain areas of your game, it can be enough to make a difference.

Dunning Kruger must be massive in many domains of skill. But I'm sure Poker is a special case - we all know that we lose when players get lucky against us. And bad beats will always support that thought, and they happen often in poker.

We also generally lose when we play bad ourselves.
