SPT Notts Live Update

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,210

Sky Poker Tour Notts is taking place at the Alea Casino, Nottingham, from Friday 4th May through to Sunday 6th May.

If you want to follow the fun, this is the thread to be on, as we take a light-hearted look at the £50,000 Guaranteed event.

Photo's, bust outs, hand details, with a few gentle & not-so-gentle digs in the ribs for the players.

Friday (Day 1A) & Saturday (Day 1B) will be mostly tales from the tables - & the bar - as the players try to survive & make Day 2 (Sunday) with a playable stack.

On Sunday, we'll up our game & report all the bustouts, bad beats, and chip counts all the way down to the winner.

If you have a friend or relative playing, & want to now how they are getting on, no prob, just ask, & we'll do the rest.

You can interact & ask questions via Twitter, too, just go to @SkyPoker

The Sky Poker staff will be on hand, too, & players often like to put faces to names, so you will be able to see James, Kirsty, Mark & Sam (not forgetting Neil Channing) hard at work.

Worth making the point that the Staff work their socks off at these things - here's Sky James & Sky Mark hard at work at a previous SPT.

And a quick reminder of the winner of the last SPT, who - for reasons which are unclear - was rather cruelly given the nick "Bad Jumper".

@Tikay10 why don't you start a thread in the clinic asking for advice on playing QQ?

Better still @Sky_SamT , why don't you start a thread in the Clinic, asking how to get the max when you flop quads against an over-boat?

Are the skypoker staff playing and if they are, will skybet be doing odds?
If skybet wont then maybe @Tikay10 could suggest the odds on who will last longest.

Gutted I cant make this as it is relatively local to me and Manchester was great. I have knee surgery to repair my knee cartilage and ACL from my first ever major sorts injury.

I will be reading the updates with great interest from my bed!

Best of luck to the sky players

    What sort of sorts injury?

I was playing football for my regular team jumped for a header landed badly - My knee dislocated, damaged almost every ligament in my leg and completeley tore my ACL (that is a separate operation after I have recovered from this one)

This one is on my cartilage that has cracked in every direction - They cant actually repair it as it is to damaged so it is getting stitched into my leg.

With any luck I will be able to play again in a year but im halfway to 33 now so not sure how good an idea it will be.

May try and improve my golf instead!

Yes, the Staff will be playing, including Ambo.

Don't know the "Last Longest Odds" yet, but I did hear they are "Betting without the Favourite". (Me).

Why is Neil so often referred to as 'Ambo'?
  • Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,210

Why is Neil so often referred to as 'Ambo'?

It's short for "Ambassador", which is such a clunky word, & does not, to my mind, really mean much to rank & file poker players.

No idea who first came up with it though.

Looking forward to seeing everybody this weekend.
Hoping to play better than I did in Manchester.
Just remember the following, If Tikay has Queens, you are good no matter what.
If Irish Rose stands up, starts to put her coat on and says she has a plane to catch, you are in deeeeeep trouble.
