PPS-booked flight to Vegas today. Woo-hoo!

    BOOM.

Though for aircraft pedants, the photo is of a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 from London landing at McCarron, Vegas, but that flight is no longer serviced by a 747, they use the Dreamliner 787.

Always fly Virgin. (Insert joke about not flying with someone who won't take you all the way here). You can set your watch by them. Always an hour late getting to Vegas, bang on time coming back :). First time going from Heathrow rather than Gatwick-will be strange flying to Vegas from an airport that doesn't look like a building site ;)

Strange game, poker-for me, anyway. Tend to have large spells of break-even, and then a short period where I run really well. Not that I'm complaining, mind.

Wheels just fell off in Main/Mini. Had been going well, then lost 3 flips in a row. Took it rather better than some guy I sucked out on in the Main earlier (AQs v AKo). On the bright side, won a qualifier to a big MTT on GG Poker on Sunday.

Quiet week for poker sites generally. Various series have finished (UKOPS, i-poker, Microgaming), and others due to start next week (GG, Stars, 888).

I trust you watched both games this week which featured North London sides?

Predictions for the CL Final v Liverpool?

    Champions League.

People talk about a "Big 6" in the Premier League, but in many respects it is a Big 5. Spurs' wage bill is only 60% of the 5th highest (Arsenal). Let's put that into context-Spurs' wage bill is £120 million, while Arsenal's was £200 million, and Liverpool £210 million. And that is for the last reported figures (2016/17)-the gap between Liverpool and Spurs has undoubtedly grown since then.

Who has the better team? Liverpool, undoubtedly. How many THFC players would get in the current Liverpool team? In my view, 3. Alderweireld-only because Gomez is not fully fit. Eriksen-only just. And Kane instead of Firmino-provided he was fully fit.

Looking at it another way. If you asked 100 people to name a combined side, who would get more than 70% of the vote? In my view, the names would be: Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Robertson, Salah and Kane.

And yet. And yet. Look at Spurs' run this year. Almost mathematically out after 3 matches in the Group stage, late dramas almost every tie (I thought Man City was even more thrilling than Ajax). The best team does not always win. I genuinely think that this could be Spurs year. We shall see. "Clippety" Klopp has a marvellous team, mind.

    Europa League

Didn't watch the Arsenal game. There are simple rules in the Essex household, as Mrs Essex does not like football. So-meaningful game for Spurs/England-TV is mine. Anyone else-wife in charge of the remote. Works for us.

Fascinating Final in prospect. On the 1 hand, important for Chelsea/Sarri to get a trophy. But nothing like as important as for Arsenal, as Champions League football likely to depend on winning this. That is worth a massive amount of money.

Not a lot in it between the teams. The Chelsea team has more big game experience, and Hazard. Arsenal have 3 or 4 glaring weaknesses (full back, centre half, wide midfield), but a better front line and better centre midfield (particularly with Kante not fully fit/played out of position). They need it more. Arsenal win for me.

Tickets for the Liverpool - Spurs game are a bit pricey.....

    This is from the Liverpool FC website;

The club has received an allocation of 16,613 tickets for this all-ticket fixture.

Within the allocation of tickets received, approximately five per cent are Category 1, 21 per cent are Category 2, 54 per cent are Category 3, and 20 per cent are Category 4.

    Category 1: £513 (£410 restricted view)
    Category 2: £385 (£308 restricted view)
    Category 3: £154 (£120 restricted view)
    Category 4: £60

Jeez.....that's without the cost of travel to & from Madrid, & hotels.

Football was quoted by our most successful manager
Tony Waddington "The working mans ballet "
How times have changed this working man goes to 3 or 4 games a season due to cost
I could get a season ticket for less than the category 1 price of this one match

    1) Two London teams, their grounds just 8 miles apart, playing their Europa League Final in Baku, which is a 5,000 mile round trip, & one fraught with difficulty, for a game which will kick off at 11pm local time.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48220247

    2) Liverpool & Spurs, both based in England, 220 miles apart, travelling a 2,200 mile round trip to Madrid.

    3) The EUFA Super Cup, between Spurs & Arsenal, literally a bus-ride apart, making a 3,800 mile round trip to Istanbul.

Football gets more & more ridiculous.

No poker Friday, as playing too much lately. That, and Hull RLFC were playing on the TV.

Saturday-not my favourite day to play online-best day to play live, though. Flopped a flush v @Haysie in the Main on here, but his set boated up on the River. No escape from that.

Did wonder if a certain Welsh gentleman was also playing on 888-had a guy called "Brexitmyarse" on my table :)

Small profit due to a win in a small game on Coral.

Sunday makes or breaks the week for most online poker players-let's see what tomorrow brings.

Yes the river was unfortunate for you.

With an alias like that, I would like to shake his hand.

Although other contributors to the forum might disapprove.

I don't suppose he will be voting for Nigel Farage in the upcoming election.

In fact I am thinking about a protest thread to get Sky to allow players to change their alias by deed poll.

    It could work.

I might follow the Lib Dems, and go for something like B0ll0ckst0Brexit.

You could gain some income out of legal fees.

Gotta ask how you are a Hull F.C fan with an alias of Essexphil. Only ask coz I travel to Cas about 8 times a season to cheer on ye Fords.

Of course away games with the exception of F.C., K.R, Larnden and Catalans are all closer to Stoke than the home games.

Least since the move away from the old ground all that stupid egg chucking has stopped lol.

All together now "We all hate Leeds, we all hate Leeds etc.

Standard Sunday outlay? Biggest ever outlay?

How do you find Sundays generally?

I know it's always traditionally been the biggest day of the week for online MTT's, but do you find that has a positive or negative effect on the overall strength of the fields?

Also, would love to see a diary of month in the life of @MattBates. Any chance of ever indulging us mere mortals Matt?

    It's be great, I agree.
