    Hi Ryan

I really didn’t not know what to say the time and so didn’t post.
I still don’t know what to say really but here goes.

I totally understood and respected your reasons for not making Nottingham.
I was looking forward to meeting you. You write so well and come across brilliantly on here.
I’m not sure you realise how popular you are on the forum. Don’t worry that we talked about you all the time or anything but everyone i saw was disappointed that you hadn’t been able to make it to Nottingham

Keeps crushing and I really hope you can make it to another one.

    Thanks Paul, really appreciate that.

I was all set to come, even booked the hotel as non refundable. It's a weird one really, when the missus said she wasn't coming on the Saturday morning I was suddenly overwhelmed with panic and worry. I thought I was over all that stuff but clearly not.

I thought honesty would be the best policy as it was pretty obvious that I had bottled it!

Are there any cheap/local live games running near you Ryan? Might be the best place to start in regards to overcoming the anxious thoughts towards live poker. There were small (10-20 people) tournaments in a pub/club where I lived and it was a good place to learn before I ever went to an actual casino. Allowed me to get a little live poker experience in a friendly atmosphere which made my first solo casino trip much less daunting!

It wasn't so much the poker that was bothering me. I used to suffer with Anxiety pretty bad, although this was about 5 years ago. I get by now, but that Saturday morning when I woke up to get ready it was like BOOM, all the old feelings rushing back and I couldn't deal with it so unfortunately I took the easy option and bottled it. I was really annoyed with myself tbh lol

    Day 59.

Another struggle tonight, I'm running bad in most games. The games that I do run good in to build a stack end with another slap in the face in the latter stages. It's the kind of period where you get dealt a premium pair and instead of rubbing your hands in glee you wonder which street the suckout will arrive on.

It's not a problem though, it's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

However, I will be taking the night off tomorrow because mistakes have started creeping in, with some big mistakes in a couple of games. I tend to try and force things or play differently when I hit a bumpy patch. I know I'm doing it, I know I shouldn't be doing it, but I still end up doing it. For example in one BH tonight I was facing a 4b shove in level 1 with pockets 10s and ending up taking a punt because "It might be a flip" and "I really want my luck to change". Not great.

So a night off is definitely in order and I'll come back on Thursday with a clear head.

    There are tournaments in Hull

What casino in Hull please. I'm only half hour from there so might be worth going.

Edit: Googled it. There is a Grovsener with a half decent schedule

Change of plan. Watched a couple of videos and then really felt like playing, so no point having a break just yet.

Update later. (Please be a good one....)

Presume that's where John Hesp played his £10 games before final tabling the WSOP Main Event :)

The bloke from Bridlington? Yeah that would be his local I'd imagine.

    Day 60.

Another losing session but not by too much. Just not getting the rub of the green at the minute. The first 3 MTT exits I have no issue with, they were my own doing, but it gave me the kick up the backside I needed and I feel like my game improved slightly from there.

In the Main BH I could never really get going. I hung around for a couple of hours but with an active player with a big stack directly on your left it's always a bit tricky. I got the chips with AQ for a stack that would have given me a fighting chance of pushing on for a cash but lost the race against his 44 to bust about 30 places shy of the money. I was never really in it though if I'm being honest.

An £11 BH looked it might be saving the day when I was sitting 1/7 until a bvb clash put an end to that effort. It was an awkward spot (the hand is in the clinic) and I really don't know if it was a mistake or not.

I'm still enjoying playing though and I know there will always be spells like this so I'm not too concerned (yet).

I was going to play tonight but I'm feeling under the weather and can't concentrate at all so have just played the 2 MTTs and giving the rest a miss.

    Day 61.

The session being over this early says all you need to know. De-regged from the rest, head is nowhere near to being in the right place. The download client packing up on me was the final nail in the coffin for me tonight.

Variance is a pain in the backside and I don't even think I'm playing that well either, but it's always difficult to tell when you're running bad too. Even @MAXALLY is getting there against me on the river, and that never happens ;) (#runlikealan).

Calling it a night is definitely the best course of action for tonight.

    15:30 - £5.50 BH (X)
    16:15 - £2.20 Deepy (X)
    16:30 - £5.50 BH (X)
    17:30 - £5.50 BH (X)
    18:00 - £4.80 Main Semi (X)
    18:30 - £5.50 BH (16th £6.45 + £13.13 head prizes)
    19:00 - £7.70 BH (X)
    19:15 - £3.30 Orfy (X)
    19:15 - £2.20 Deepy (X)
    20:15 - £11 BH (X)
    20:30 - £5.50 Megastack (X)
    20:30 - £5.50 Mini (1 rebuy) (X)

I have been toying with the idea of getting some one to one coaching, and nights like these make me even more sure that it is something I would like to look into. I couldn't hit a flop, win a race or hold in most games but there must be plenty of leaks in there too. I am part of a good poker group which is a great help but I would like something a bit more personal too. So, if anybody knows how I can go ahead with this then please can they pm me.
