Do you mean The Holiday, Mark?

One of the modern classics along with Pretty Woman and Notting Hill

    Ha no, nothing as cultured!

    This one clip

Really isn't in the classic territory but all right for a random funny film.

Pretty sure I will have lost all credibility to ever comment of films or TV after posting that

    Poker was ok last night

Won some dyms and ran deep in a couple of mtts

I think i played 6 mtts last night which is normally about a months worth for me.

Tried to sat into the major but fell just short

11bh i flopped a straight in a limped pot in the bb with 85 on 4 6 7 rainbow 🌈. Guy went all in on the flop. Gg me

Mini my 13bb shive got snapped by J 9. Gg me

£3 rebuy i never really got started.
Had a particularly pleasant hand where a guy shoved and the lovely Arrogant raised. I then shoved KK and as expected Mr Arrogant tanked the call with Aces. A gorgeous K K x flop and i felt it was mature and acceptable to write the childish “lololololol” in the chatbox

£22mega i ran very well and came 5th with a few heads

£33bh i ran very well and came 7th. Exit was a bit shoddy. Shoved 10bbs with AJ and 55 made the call. Flopped the A and 5 on the river for GG. They just feel slightly less painful when you miss the board totally

Had a couple of hands which were probably spew and awful. Flame away please.

One other thing. Are we raising bigger sb as standard in JJ hand?

With the JJ hand I think you can do a variety of things in the SB preflop.

If you had <20BB you could limp/jam preflop if you think villain will try to defend and you likely get called by loads of small pairs, Ax, and even QK etc if villain is really spewy.

In the above scenario you could miniraise to try and induce the same scenario.

However, you have 30+ BB so a play like the above - while still +EV - will more often than with 20bb stack, end up with you AIPF versus a tighter range including a lot of hands you are flipping with or even bigger pairs.

Therefore - with your stack - while I wouldn't be against trying to engineer an AIPF, I would be content to play a post flop pot.

The above might not all be relevant but would be my thought process going into the hand and would affect the line I took preflop.

Don't see anything wrong with your line preflop or the flop.

It is very likely the villain is floating on that board and looking to play back at you on later streets. With that in mind I would let him do just that and check/call the turn at least and very often check/call the river.

Sure he might have the ace but a lot of big aces might have 3 bet preflop so I am less likely to think he has AK AQ AJ (you have blockers) so I think a lot of the hands he reps on turn and river are air.

Right, I will stop waffling but basically IMO preflop and flop I would often do the same but I think I check/call turn and probably river.

I did wonder what you were clicking it back with on the turn; your line had me scratching my head and I was tempted to rip it with my 6 high ;).

I think, generally speaking, you want to be opening at least 2.5x pre bvb given that you're ~40bbs deep - can also mix some limps in too a % of the time.

Betting flop seems fine, however I would also be checking a decent % of the time.

Betting turn is questionable IMO; at this point in the hand you are either miles ahead (vs worse pocket pairs/2x) or miles behind (4x/Ax) so you don't need much protection at all. Also, you open yourself up to bluff raises (like mine!), which put you in an awkward spot and complicate your decision making.

I agree with your analysis that you have all of the best Ax, however I'm pretty sure I have a nut range advantage as my defending range has more 4x than your min open range and I also have some combos of 35s that you don't have. That's why I was tempted to rip over the top as your line didn't make much sense; would you really click it back with your premium hands (AA/4x)? Surely you'd want me to continue my bluff on the river as that's the only way you get paid and, at this point, I am extremely polarised (I have either air or a nutted hand)?

    Thanks for posting Viking

Yeah, I posted the two hands above as I was uncomfortable with how I played them at the time. I’ve had some really great feedback on them from probably the best player on Sky and some other very good players too

I agree on the open sizing. Also limping is probably ok.
I think now that checking flop is pretty good with then betting the turn.
As played when I bet turn I felt that it gave a good player the perfect opportunity to raise. On reflection calling rather than reraising seems preferable

A week's holiday in Berwick, I'm distinctly jealous. Enjoy.

Gill came down over the weekend, out first time together since lockdown started, so I treated her on Saturday with a trip to Bournemouth Airport to see some of the stored BA fleet, & then on to Boscombe, to take a look at the cruise liners all moored in Weymouth Bay. Yes, it's a bit of an extravagance, but I wanted to give her a really exciting day.

You do know how to treat a woman. Sounds pretty amazing ^

These things can go two ways.

You defo need to take your clubs Paul @Jac35 , even if it's just half-a-set.

GOSWICK G.C. just outside Berwick is a GREAT Links course.......it's a proper test. The main London-Edinburgh trainline runs right alongside the course too.

Haven't you started Harry playing yet? .......always a good excuse to squeeze a few holes in ;)

Loved Bamburgh and Seahouses. Alnwick was rubbish
Had my first ever hole in one at Seahouses on the cliff top par 3. I can’t find the pic i took but it’s this hole. A nice place to do it. Gap wedge

I bet that's a very tricky Par 3 with the wind blowing off the North Sea, but as you say, a lovely picturesque hole, to have a Hole-in-One at....WELL DONE

I was fortunate to have a Hole-in-One at one of the most photographed Par 3's in The World, the 7th at Pebble Beach .....same club as you @Jac35 , 53 degree Gap Wedge

I'd upload the Photo of the Hole if I knew how :/

I got sent a Pebble Beach Flag to mark the achievement, which I have framed with all the photo's of the occasion, and had a round of drinks for everyone in the Bar, thankfully bought for me by the Pebble Beach Company, ....... 'coz it was very, very busy :#

Do try and sneak a round at Goswick G.C. ..... I promise it really is worth it :)
