Nobody seems to be happy with this concept except the owners of these clubs and the over seas fans It's all about the money though so let them eat pie but there will be consequences with these clubs in their home countries and so there should be It's gonna be interesting
I think they are banking on huge TV audiences and the surrounding revenue to make this work.
The problem there is firstly if they go down the PPV route for the casual viewer it's a non starter and secondly once the novelty wears off is it really that appealing.
I rarely watch CL football now as it is whereas when it was a straight KO tournament there was excitement and drama.
Personally a relegation battle between say Fulham and Brighton is far more appealing than watching the overpaid Divas of Man City and Real Madrid try to bore each other into submission..
Also if the ESL operates outside the remit of FIFA and the National Associations one assumes the players are no longer eligible for International consideration. So thats Germany, Italy, Spain and Belgium not winning another Euro or World Cup. Maybe thats a positive.
It won't affect me, It will have the same impact on my football life as the CL does right now and for 90% of football fans it will always be the case. So follow your Stokes, your Brentfords, your Derbys and whoever else you hold to be your team because WE are football.
This Super League proposal left me ranting last night and waking up in the same mood.
The 12 clubs involved so far should be ashamed of themselves.
But 3 of those clubs stand out further in the hall of shame, United, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid, the club that won the first 5 European Cups and went on to win the trophy more than any other club.
Liverpool, a club with a fantastic history in the European Cup.
And then there's United, who pioneered the way forward for English clubs in Europe in the 50"s, the Busby Babes who perished trying to win the trophy, that glorious evening at Wembley when we become the 2nd British and first English club to win the trophy.
Never forgetting May 1999 and the stunning comeback against Bayern to win the treble.
So, three clubs who have the glories of the European Cup woven into the very fabric of their clubs, selling their history and more sadly the soul of their respective football clubs for the greed of their owners.
A sad day for football and a sad day for the clubs and fans.
What exactly has all this got to do with the Government?
Irrelevant to Boris, but if he says he will stop it, you can bet your house that it will go ahead. He will only say it had nothing to do with him, after it has happened.
Haysie typing shite again Are you a supporter of your local club It's loyalty, passion a siege mentality It's for nights that rarely comes around but when it happens it means everything to a supporter, glory hunters don't get this

3) Leicester City FC. They should be just awarded the FA Cup when Chelski are kicked out the comp.

What exactly has all this got to do with the Government?
He will only say it had nothing to do with him, after it has happened.
If you were a West Ham, or Leicester fan, wouldnt you get more excited over the prospect that you could actually win the PL next year?
Football fans consistently moan about their club being unable to compete with the rich clubs.
The same fans seem to be moaning about not having to do this anymore.
Problem solved.
People just hate change.
