Do you operate via a Limited Company Sean? If so, any issues with IR23? I only ask as I do & it's been quite a headache. Luckily, I had no need for any "Business Loans" or Furlough money, although I was offered both. Was very tempting, but that could only end badly, & I don't really agree with fiddling these things.
@Tikay10 No mate , i'm a solo sub-contractor , i just go to work like most people and let my accountant sort the figures at the end of the tax year , i think earning sub 30k a year helps in that respect

Captain Sir Tom Moore’s daughter has said her company received £800,000 from three books the veteran wrote, amid accusations that the family had kept money intended to be donated to charity.
Hannah Ingram-Moore told Piers Morgan on his TalkTV show Uncensored on Wednesday night that her father wanted her to keep the profits, and that there was no suggestion that people buying the books thought they were donating to charity.
The money was received by Club Nook Ltd, Ms Ingram-Moore said, a company set up by her and her husband Colin in April 2020.
In a charged interview, she told Morgan: “These were my father’s books, and it was honestly such a joy for him to write them, but they were his books.
“He had an agent and they worked on that deal, and his wishes were that that money would sit in Club Nook, and in the end . . . ”
Morgan asked: “For you to keep?”, to which Ms Ingram-Moore replied “yes”.
A formal investigation was launched by the Charity Commission into the Captain Tom Foundation in June 2020, over a possible “significant profit” generated for Club Nook.
The company registered trademark variations of Captain Sir Tom’s name, and before his death products went on sale with profits going to the foundation.
Ingram-Moore paid £18,000 for one appearance Ms Ingram-Moore also told Morgan that she was paid £18,000 for appearing at the The Virgin Media O2 Captain Tom Foundation Connector Awards in 2021.
In August a BBC Newsnight report claimed that Ms Ingram-Moore was paid thousands of pounds through her family company for events whose advertising suggested she was there on behalf of her father’s charity.
Her fee for the appearances was paid to Maytrix Group, another company owned by Ms Ingram-Moore and her husband, she told Morgan.
“I think in hindsight what I should have done is stalled that relationship to afterwards,” she said.
She added: “I think it’s all very easy to look back and think I should have made different decisions, but I hadn’t planned on being the CEO.”
At the time, Ms Ingram-Moore was the Captain Tom Foundation’s interim chief executive, and paid an £85,000 salary.
Asked about this by Morgan, she said: “In hindsight, the two things should have been separated, but that’s not how it landed, and it was done with love and with trying to ensure that the community and the Captain Tom Foundation benefited, and yes I got paid.”
When asked about the issue by the BBC via email ahead of the Newsnight report, she replied: “You are awful. It’s a total lie.”
Six minutes later she added: “Apologies. That reply was for a scammer who has been creating havoc”.
Ms Ingram-Moore did not request permission from the charity’s board before agreeing to the events, and an internal investigation was launched last November, the BBC reported.
A spokesperson for the trustees told the broadcaster at the time that the matter was “subject of an ongoing internal investigation”, adding: “The Charity Commission has been notified of the Foundation’s review of this matter and the Foundation will share its findings once the investigation has concluded.”
Captain Tom’s daughter shows planning officials around spa pool at her £1.2m mansion in fight against demolition order as her neighbours say it is a 'monstrosity' - after lawyer reveals foundation set up in war hero's name will be shut down
Hannah Ingram-Moore can be seen in drone footage gesticulating to officials at her wooden-fenced property. Suited officials carrying coloured files chat outside, with a spectacled man in a dark blue suit pointing animatedly in different directions. They are then led to the C-shaped spa pool to the rear of the home where nine officials walk across black rectangle-shaped mats which lead to an open door.
