An understandable reaction to a drubbing including a pitch invasion on one hand. A planned sit in protest on the other.
As far as I can see, there was not actually any threat to the directors of Everton before the match. I can't say that with any certainty afterwards 😤😤🤬🤬 They should all have turned up and listened to the warranted criticism.

There were credible threats made to the lives of the Directors. They stayed away on police advice.
The Directors and Owners are the people who are spending the money needed to help Everton Football Club. They may not be doing a very good job, but they are the only ones who can stop Everton going down by spending their money. And deciding whether it is Lampard, or someone else, is best placed to keep you up.
Meanwhile, your "supporters" are doing everything in their power to make a toxic atmosphere whereby your Directors are scared to even turn up. And your players are playing with fear.
There's times for making criticism. And there are times to get behind your club.

And Everton fans don't seem to appreciate that.
Kenwright, Barrett-Baxendale, Ingles etc make up the board.and do not own the club. Kenwright has been chairman for many years. They don't put any money in. They are employed by the club. They have presided over years of mediocrity and now worse. Moshiri owns the club and has spent a fortune on hiring and replacing managers and players. Who is advising him? Something is severely wrong at the club. Any 'regular' business would have replaced the board years ago because of their abject failure.
The supporters back the team at every game and sell out every away fixture doing so. Of course they boo and criticise when we get beaten by other relegation threatened clubs. The supporters are not the problem.
p.s. I truly believe this is the season we are doomed.

I'm an outsider. I have never supported Everton, and never will. Similarly, I have never regarded Everton as a team to dislike. Much like Spurs, Everton have a long and glorious history, and have been a team that is generally well-liked.
There are clearly things that are amiss when it comes to the running of Everton. But to say that the supporters play no part in the problems is just not true.
You have had 6 Managers in the last 6 years. The supporters have turned on at least 5 of them.
Koeman. Derided for being incapable, even though he led you into Europe. Subsequently Manager of Barcelona and Holland (twice)
Allardyce. Derided by the fans for not playing football in the "right" way, and finishing 8th in the League
Silva. Derided for not being good enough. A sentiment not currently shared by Fulham fans.
Ancelotti. Probably the appointment that caused the most problems, and was undoubtedly (with hindsight) the wrong appointment by the Board.
Benitez. Derided for his time at Liverpool.
Lampard. Not exactly Mr Popular, is he?
Do you think the attitude of the fans, the public lambasting, the threats to kill, are going to help you get the best next Manager? Or new investors?
And that Board. Kenwright has saved your Club at least twice, both with his own money and his contacts. Another Board Member receiving threats is Graeme Sharp. Remember him?
Phil , are you blaming the fans for part of Evertons predicament , fans who pay good money to be entertained fans who are the core of the club through thick and thin and who will be with the club forever , i've heard this shite on our board people blaming fans for not backing the shite that's put before them it's bollox mate How would spurs fans react if they were run by incompetence and facing a relegation battle I agree a toxic atmosphere is not helpful but that atmosphere starts at the top then down to the manager and players with no heart but yeah blame the fans
Phil 6 managers, some who have had successful careers elsewhere afterwards. But none were successful at Everton. All bar Allardyce were backed by the majority of fans. Even Benitez, although a smaller majority in his case. Hundreds of millions spent in players. And still we are shite.
The supporters turn up every week and back the team. It's not a toxic atmosphere for the players before the game. Fans are entitled to be angry at full time at the dross they are watching. 28 years without any silverware.
Is Lampard the answer? No, I doubt it but if we sack him, we will just fund ourselves in the same position in a year. There doesn't appear to be any long term plan. Something needs to change.
We haven't won a trophy since 1995.
Threats to kill? Wrong in every way. Violence? Same Public criticism? Fully deserved given the predicament.
Kenwright bought the club and undoubtedly made a nice profit when he sold it. He is still chairman. We are still shite.
Moshiri has been asked to engage with fan groups about the current situation. He sent a brief one page letter. The next day he was discussing things on Talksport with the presenters. Everyone appreciates the money he has invested and the new ground being built but he seems out of touch.
If nothing changes, we will have the best ground in the Championship. Or worse.
You pay your players the 12th most in the Premier League. Less than Crystal Palace. Just over half that paid by Aston Villa. And everyone seems to spend a fortune on players. Not just Everton.
Koeman got you into Europe-7th. Allardyce-8th. Silva-8th. Failures?
Everton have a long and proud history of being a decent football club. With a long history of having Managers and Teams that are a credit to their fans, and vice versa.
26 Managers in 134 years. But 6 in the last 6. Protests. Threats. Demands. Now threats to kill-and I wish I was hearing from a lot of other Everton fans your admirable condemnation about threats of violence.
The richest clubs right now are mostly clubs being used as a plaything for somewhat dodgy nations looking for good publicity-Man C, Arsenal, Newcastle etc. That or being used for profit. Do you think threatening to kill people makes your club a more attractive proposition to investors? Or makes prospective Managers and Players want to come?
Relegation? I've seen Spurs go down. And come back stronger. Same for Man Utd. Man City nearly dropped off the pools coupon-and seem to be doing ok now. It's not the end of the World. Although it seemed like it was at the time.

I'm with Brian Clough on that decision.

Everton have spent a lot of money on players. But so has everyone else. Here are the current wage bills:-
