Breaking: Tottenham boss Antonio Conte to leave as north London future confirmed.

Antonio Conte will leave Tottenham at the end of the current season when his current deal ends, it is being reported in Italy.

The 53-year-old joined the club in November 2021, and his addition combined with the January signings of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus helped Spurs into the top 4 ahead of north London rivals Arsenal come the end of the campaign, including a comprehensive 3-0 win over Arsenal in April.

However, this season has been a different story. Although the Lilywhites enjoyed their best ever start to a Premier League season, they were regularly forced to come from behind to **** points, and in recent weeks even the ability to do that has disappeared.

Losses to Arsenal and Manchester City in the past seven days have left them stranded, six points behind fourth place and Manchester United. With one win in their last five Premier League games, Conte’s insipid football has drawn regular boos from the Tottenham faithful, while he himself appears at odds with the club hierarchy over January additions.

Now, as per Italian expert Gianluca Di Marzio, it seems as though Conte and Spurs will part ways come the end of the current campaign at the latest.

“The news I can tell you with certainty is that Antonio Conte will leave Tottenham at the end of the season”, the Italian explained. “There was no spark, his contract is expiring and the club has not asked him for a renewal.”

It will mark the second ‘serial winner’ to arrive and leave at Tottenham with no trophies, with Jose Mourinho also having won a trophy at every other club he managed until arriving in north London.

Antonio Conte. Talented, without a doubt. But not exactly a keeper. Here is his managerial career:-

2007-09. Bari. Flounced off, as thought would get Juventus job.
2009-10. Atalanta. Hated. Needed police protection.
2010-11. Siena. Dumped them for Juventus.
2011-14. Juventus. First trophies. Left for next job..
    2014-16. Italy. Failed. Sacked.
2016-18. Chelsea. Good 1st season. Bad 2nd. Sacked.
2019-21. Inter. Initial success, flounced claiming lack of transfer money
2021-23. Tottenham. Initial success, poor 2nd season. Blamed everyone else.

One thing he is not is a serial winner. What he is good at is improving a club in his first season. Despite that, he tends either to get sacked, or flounce off blaming other people, in his 2nd.

Footballer 'put finger into rival player's anus' during Sunday League game.

A footballer has claimed an opposition player inserted their finger into his anus during a match.

The shocking allegation was detailed in a leaked message from Nottinghamshire FA’s disciplinary panel.

It says the alleged incident happened during a Sunday league game on January 8.

The possibility that multiple fingers had been inserted was also left worryingly open.

‘It has been reported to us that during a match between [home team] and [away team], a player allegedly inserted his finger(s) into an opposition player’s anus,’ the message reads.

Nottinghamshire FA said it was aware of the incident and it is currently under investigation.

Coaches, players and spectators who were at the match have been asked to complete witness statements by tomorrow, according to the message.

Nottinghamshire Police said they were unaware of the incident.

Ah see in a match in Portugal the ref issued a white card during the game, it was either for fair play by both sides or it was because somebody collapsed in the dug out. ah couldn't make out what it was for.

Ah see in a match in Portugal the ref issued a white card during the game, it was either for fair play by both sides or it was because somebody collapsed in the dug out. ah couldn't make out what it was for.

Sporting Lisbon and Benfica were shown a white card by the referee after Portugal introduced a new rule.

Football fans are used to see yellow and red cards dished out with regularity to punish players who overstep the line.

But they won't be accustomed to officials using a white card - which has the complete opposite effect.

Supporters in Portugal got a glimpse of the new card as Sporting Lisbon and Benfica's women met in a cup match.

With Benfica leading 3-0, someone on the bench in the dugouts reportedly felt ill at the end of the first-half.

Medical staff from both sides rushed to the person's aid.

After the issue was dealt with, the referee can be seen brandishing the white card.

Fans responded with big cheers at the appearance of the rare colour.

White cards are part of a new initiative in Portugal.

Unlike the yellow and red cards which are meant to punish teams, the white card instead is shown to recognise and praise clubs for fair play.

The new idea was started to encourage ethical values in sport.

Benfica would go on to win 5-0 in the cup quarter-final.

While not yet widespread, the white card is just the latest new rule change that has come to football.

Concussion substitutions and longer stoppage time - as seen in the Qatar World Cup - are some of the other ideas that could become the norm to try and shake up the game for safety and entertainment purposes.

XGoals, ah just don't get it, am betting on Bologna v Cremonese game, 15/6 shots for the home team, 5/2 shots the away team, yet the away team is 1.51 XG and the home team is 0.60, ah don't get it.
It's now the 90th min, 21/8 shots for the home team, 9/2 for the away team, yet it's 1.81 xg for the away team.
    It's been 1 - 1 from the 55th min, it ended 1 - 1.

    Next Everton Manager.

If the bookies are accurate (and they usually are) things are not looking good. There are 5 Managers in the frame, and in order of likelihood they appear to be:-

    1. Marcelo Bielsa. Inspired many great managers. Fine record as a National Team coach. And a poor one in club management. In his 60s before managing to avoid the sack by a club for more than 2 years
    2. Sean Dyche. Undoubtedly a risk. But can see why he is in the frame
    3. Marcelino. A 57 year old man. Who has spent both his playing and management career entirely in Spain. Doing distinctly averagely
    4. Duncan Ferguson. A club legend. Who has managed to get to 51 years old without managing anyone. Who left Everton because he wants to be a Manager. And no-one appears to want to take a chance on him
    5. Wayne Rooney. A young Manager, who (so far) has both done well and exhibited qualities such as tact and loyalty that have been a credit to him. Who loves Everton. And is the outsider of the 5

Everton's next league game is at home to Arsenal so with the new manager 'bounce' effect it may be worth risking a few quid on them especially if it's Rooney in charge at these odds. Unless the new manager waits until after the Arsenal game before taking control although their next game is away to Liverpool so not the easiest of starts for a new manager

Trouble is, it looks like it is going to be Bielsa. Of his many club appointments, the only ones that could realistically be described as being in any way successful are:-

    Newells OB, Argentina 1990-92
    Velez Sarsfield, Argentina 1997-98
Athletic Bilbao 2011-13 (first season, not 2nd)
Leeds 2018-22 (in the Championship, but not the Premier League)

I'd be pleased to be proved wrong. But he looks like a car crash appointment to me.

PS-any Manager would be likely to want to be in post before the Arsenal game. Because they desperately need to sign at least 1 forward. Maupay isn't good enough, and Calvert-Lewin is way too injury prone. Sold Richarlison, Tosun, Rondon and Broadhead without signing their replacements.

Nobody thing this man is in with a shout, ridic as it may seem?

Don't forget, he had the gig before, & did better - far better - than any subsequent
Everton manager. Sadly, Everton listened to "fan power", which is such a dumb thing to do.

Don't disagree at all, but on that basis, so is Sean Dyche.

    Sam Allardyce 14/1

    Nuno Espirito Santo 16/1

    Thomas Frank 16/1

    David Moyes 20/1

    Marcelo Gallardo 20/1

    Ralph Hasenhuttl 20/1

Ralph Hasenhuttl seems a decent price to me.

You know how to kick us when we are (almost) down.

That period has been erased from Everton's history.
    And rightly so.
