Bournemouth claimed a comfortable Premier League victory over south-coast rivals Southampton, whose dismal start to the campaign continued at Vitality Stadium.
Ghana winger Semenyo tormented several watching defenders before drilling a low effort into the left corner from the edge of the box.
And given that has been a recurring theme of Saints' return to the top flight after a one-year absence, it is only likely to add to the pressure on Martin.
However, Southampton go to title hopefuls Arsenal with the daunting task of trying to arrest the form that has brought their joint worst ever start to a league campaign
Jermain Defoe claims Jermaine Jenas has been treated differently by the BBC because he is black.
This was made in response to a question put to him by the Daily Mail about Jenas being sacked.
Defoe wants to talk on Jenas’ sacking from “The One Show” and “Match of the Day” due to allegations of workplace misconduct, specifically sending ‘inappropriate’ messages to a female colleague.
The BBC’s decision to terminate Jenas’s contract was based on its handling of workplace conduct complaints, with the corporation facing scrutiny over its management of misconduct allegations in recent times.
Now Defoe has given his thoughts, saying: “He’s [Jenas] my friend.
“What I don’t like is if you’re black and you do something wrong, any opportunities that you have will be gone. But, if you’re someone else, you’ll find ways to get back in.”
Defoe refrained from naming those who ‘are getting chance after chance’.
“We all make mistakes,” he added.
“[But in] society nowadays, someone does something and they get cancelled.”
1. Jermaine Jenas. May be something in what Defoe says. Jenas hadn't done anything illegal-unless you count being hopeless at his job
2. New Champions League 1st stage looks really naff. Little excitement early on, and there will be loads of meaningless games late on. Unless around 8th/24th late on, no incentive to pick 1st team. Might be some betting opportunities though
On a happier note lucky viewers got to see Stokes 6 - 1 demolition of Portsmouth. Stokes biggest win since they inflicted Liverpools record Premier League defeat by the same scoreline in Gerrards last game in a Liverpool shirt.

Yes you read it correctly.
What i don't understand is the difference from Saturdays relegation performance to last nights in 3 days it's bi-polar ah tells thee
Well hoping for an arsenal victory I keep worrying southampton could turn it round and with years of experience following them to boo them, I have noticed they do have a tendancy to get lucky or catch arsenal out. So I dont feel super comfortable about todays game despite on paper it been an easy Arsenal win but I hope Arsenal can do it.
Perhaps I should've put this in The Best Football Pie thread...
"Spurs crumble at the Amex". Very good.
I'm no one-eyed Spurs fan. I love my club. I will always love my club. But that doesn't mean I am blind to any faults.
My Wife tends to walk the dog when Spurs are on. To avoid the bad language. She comes back at half time, sees Spurs are winning 2-0, and says I must be happy. To which I replied that we had been great going forward, but Mitomi has Porro on toast (just as much as Werner had Veltman in the 1st half) and he is getting no help. And-yet again-we have picked only 1 Midfielder who is not an Attacking Midfielder (we have 4 of those on the pitch). And Bentancur is starting to be overrun by the 2 in Brighton's Centre Midfield. And-if either Bissouma or Sarr comes on at half time for 1 of the 4 I would be happy.
Then 2nd half starts. They score early. We do nothing. Don't know why, but Werner is no longer running at Veltman. Now both Udogie and Porro are being outnumbered. We do nothing. Bentancur is looking increasingly desperate-and then tired. We do nothing. Brighton score twice more. And Ange makes his first substitutions-in the 79th minute. Shoring up the Midfield. 30 minutes too late.
I like Ange. But it wasn't the Spurs team whose performance was unacceptable. It was his. And-if he doesn't realise that-he is going. Because he is starting to remind me of Ardiles. The Manager. Not the Player.

I watched the first half and actually thought 'wow' what a performance by Spurs, that is title competing form if they could play like that each week. Then the second half came and Brighton's first goal came and I thought oops here we go, I don't know if it was Spurs going into themselves or Brighton considerably upping their game, perhaps a bit of both and when the second goal went in you could only see one team winning the game.
He didn't help himself by just standing on the pitch after the game, leaving himself open to ridicule from other fans, just shake hands and get off the pitch.
I've said to my brother (Spurs) a few times that I can't see Ange getting sacked but I can see him walking away, I think those seeds were planted in his mind after the City game last season with the fans attitude towards the game.
