Thanks for your message. Can i please ask if you have managed to go over your latest bills as stated above yet? The debit on your account currently totals £44.13, and your direct debit is currently set at £238.00, currently this does seem to covering your usage however it looks as though you are bringing a debit forward onto each bills after making payments. Obviously with the winter months coming up we would advise keeping an eye on your direct debit to make sure its covering your usage going forward for this period, should you like to discuss amending your direct debit please contact us directly and we can go through this with you in more detail.
If you are the same Julie that replied in the first instance, you confirm in your own email that the £388.71 refund I was due, was reduced by the £132 in respect of the government refunds paid in October and November, and the actual refund you sent me was £256.71. The £132 should not have been deducted. On top of this you failed to pay me the government refund due in December which is a further £67. This makes a total of £199 that you owe me.
In addition to this the second summary shows a shortfall of £106. That is the difference between £1706, and £1842. You have added the government refunds payable from January to March this year, which was a total of £201, and therefore said the shortfall is £337, not £106. Making the total that you owe me £400.
The government refunds are not repayable, and should not be added to the bills. What on earth is the point of the government offering refunds, if energy companies then add them to the bill? The government gave me £400, and you have taken it back.
Households will see a discount of £66 applied to their energy bills in October and November, rising to £67 each month from December through to March 2023. The non-repayable discount will be provided on a monthly basis regardless of whether consumers pay monthly, quarterly or have an associated payment card.
Direct Debit customers will receive the Energy Bill discount automatically as a deduction to the monthly Direct Debit amount collected, or as a refund to the customer’s bank account following Direct Debit collection during each month of delivery
When will the £400 energy grant be paid? The £400 energy payment will be made from October, the government says. The payment is expected to be made over the course of six months. How will the £400 energy payment be made? People paying for energy by direct debit will have the £400 credited to their account. Those paying via pre-payment meters will have the money credited to their meter or provided to them in the form of a voucher. Will I need to pay back the £400 energy payment? You will not need to pay back the £400 energy grant, as it is not a loan. The government previously planned to offer £200 loans to help people pay their energy bills, but this scheme has been scrapped and replaced with the £400 non-repayable grant.
Could you please confirm to me the date on which you sent me the December 2002 refund of £67?
Kind Regards
Tony Hayes
Just an observation.
Maybe if we want someone to assist, we should try cutting out the sarcasm?
It is dragging on. They have clearly set out what they have done. They just cant seem to admit it. My comment may have seemed sarcastic, but I was thinking that if they admitted that they havent sent me the December payment that would be a step in the right direction. Their records show they havent sent the payment, but they wont admit that either.
What Tony may or may not be missing here is that this is deliberate. The energy companies have very expensive lawyers on retain ner full time for screwing people. They will fight you all the way to court the the appeals court then to the highest court on the e land over £200 because if you lose our credi rating and life will e in the toilet but if you win then the money they lose is pennies in comparison toghe other 30 million people they successfully ripped off its near a free roll for them. So why would they ever comprimise.

Thankyou for your reply.
Someone called Julie replied to my first email, before completely ignoring all the subsequent emails.
You dont seem to have grasped the content of my emails.
The reason my account is in debit, is clearly because you have overcharged me by £400.
The Government gave 27 million households a refund of £400 against their energy bills, between October last year, and March this year.
You failed to send me the £67 that was due in December last year.
You did send me the other 5 for which I am grateful.
However you added the credits you sent me to my bills.
Julie confirmed in her reply that you deducted the £132 in refunds, I had received in October, and November, from the balance I was due.
This reduced the credit I was due, from £388.71, to £256.71, which you sent me.
You then added the January, to March refunds I received, which totalled £201, to my bill, which made a £136 debit into a £337 debit.
So you have overcharged me by £333 in total, and failed to pay me the December refund of £67.
I would be grateful if you would credit my account with £400 as soon as possible.
I believe that my direct debit is adequate to cover my bills, provided they are calculated accurately.
Please dont ignore my emails.
Kind Regards
Tony Hayes
Anthony though.
I'm an Anthony too, but whenever I'm addressed as "Anthony" it usually means trouble.
Hello Mr Hayes,
Please accept my apologies you have not received a reply from Vicky.
I hope the below makes more sense for you.
The balance on last bill was £206.02 debt up to 03.06.2022 -
The balance from 04.06.2022 - 02.12.2022 was £731.27
6 x £221.00 = £1326.00
£1326.00 Payments made
£206.02 carried forward balance
=£1119.80
£731.27 charges for the period
= £388.53 this was refunded
03.12.2022 - 02.06.2023 - the charges £1842.00
5 x £297 1x £221 payments made = £1706.00
refunded £201.00
£1842.00 charges
-£1706.00 payments made
= £136.00
£201.00 gov rebate (these show as a charge then they are deducted from the balance as they have been refunded)
= £337.00
Government Rebates were refunded on the below dates
The below show on the bill dated from 04.06.2022 - 02.12.2022
04.10.2022 - £66
04.11.2022 - £66
02.12.2022 - £67
The below show on the bill dated from 03.12.2022 - 02.06.2023
06.01.2023 - £67
02.02.2023 - £67
02.03.2023 - £67
=£400.00
Kind Regards
Julie
What you have said is completely incorrect.
We seem to be just going around in circles.

I would like to get the £400 back first.

You seem unable to see the blatantly obvious.
The government scheme was put in place to help consumers.
If you refund customers, and then add the refunds to their bills, the only people that gain are energy companies.
You have failed to send the December refund of £67.
In addition you have added the January to March refunds (£201) to my bill.
You have also reduced the credit paid to me in December by £132, in respect of the November, and October refunds.
Contrary to your email, you only sent me a refund of £256.71 in December, not the £388.71 that I was due.
So of the £400 you were supposed to refund me, you sent me £333, failed to send me £67, and took the whole £333 back.
I am astounded that you are unable to see this.
You owe me £400.
I intend to send copies of all the emails off to Martin Lewis today.
Perhaps he will be able to speed up this process.
Kind Regards
Tony Hayes
Maybe we should try small steps?
Could you please confirm to me the date on which you sent me the December 2002 refund of £67?
Kind Regards
Tony Hayes
You surely cant think that completely ignoring my emails is some sort of solution?

Tony Hayes
Maybe if we want someone to assist, we should try cutting out the sarcasm?
They have clearly set out what they have done.
They just cant seem to admit it.
My comment may have seemed sarcastic, but I was thinking that if they admitted that they havent sent me the December payment that would be a step in the right direction.
Their records show they havent sent the payment, but they wont admit that either.
I am running out of patience.
Would you like to dispute any of the following?
1. You didnt send me the December 2022 refund of £67.
2. You reduced the £388.71 credit I was due by £132 in respect of the October/November 2022 refunds, and sent me £256.71 in December 2022.
3. You added £201 to my bill in respect of the January to March 2023 refunds, and turned a £136 debit into a £337 debit.
Unless you intend to dispute any of the above, you owe me £400.
I dont see that this is at all complicated.
Kind Regards
Tony Hayes
