Blinds 8,000/16,000-16,000.
14 players left.
Average stack is 430,000, which is about ~27 BB
A-Q v K-Q sees another player depart, so we are down to 13.
A strange one as the (ex) chip leader gets it in pre with J-J against a bit of a gung-ho K-Q.
Q on the turn sealed the deal.
Bad news, Gareth Smith has departed in 13th place, never saw it play out but I think he had A-3 v A-Q & both players hit their kicker.
The cards have gone cold on James Gavaghan, & he is down to less than 200,000, which is about 12 BB.
The recently departed Gareth Smith tells me that's the THIRD time he's finished 13th in an SPT Manchester.
Still, he's a Liverpool fan in Manchester for the day, so there is that.
11 left
James Gavaghan (BB) moved his last 172,000 in from the BB but after considerable dwellage, the deep-stacked SB folds.
James Gavaghan moves his last 152,000 in....AND GETS CALLED.
Off we go....
There are now three very short stacks, which, with 11 left, inevitably slows things down.
.,,and TWO of them just bust at the same time. (Separate tables).
One of the bustees was, I think, Curt Livermore.
James Gavaghan has survived though. Just.
Names & chip counts imminently but I needed to watch the first hand as I was pretty sure that James G would move his 5 BB in, & so he did.
He had Q-9 v A-K so was nicely live, & hit his Q, but oppo hit his King.
9th place; James Gavaghan £1,500
Seat 1, Damid M 347,000
Seat 2 Noveid Nasserri 298,000
Seat 3 Gurdeep (Singh?) 1,135,000
Seat 4 Dave Burns 310,000
Seat 5 Pete Turner 1,450,000
Seat 6 Connor Lewis 848,000
Seat 7 Dan Knapp 917,000
Seat 8 Aaron Abell 739,000
Seat 9 James Gavaghan 125,000 (now busto)
On the flop it all goes in between Pete T (chip leader I think) & Aaron Abell who was down to around 400,000.
Pete was up & down, Aaron had the Kings...
So Aaron is right back in it now.
Players are on a 10 minute break.
Seat 2, super short, makes his move with K-10 & the chip leader in the BB looks him up with 9-5.
They both hit the flop but K-10 man rivers trips so gets a full 2XUp, & that gets him out of intensive care for now.
