I already have a GROSVENOR account which I believe is on the IPoker platform. Will I end up have separate accounts for Sky and Grosvenor, or will they merge to one?
Many thanks
You will carry on using your Sky account as usual. You can have as many iPoker accounts as you like but you can only play on one at once. I recommend Sky
This whole situation reminds me of when i was a kid and two of my comics would merge with another, carrying over only a couple of the strips from the less-successful one. After a while those strips would vanish and the other comic was largely forgotten...
Thanks for providing clarity and plenty of notice in regards to the changes. Just have a couple of questions, will the sky exclusive games still be uk player pool only? when can we expect to find out more details about these games? i assume husng will just be merged into the ipoker network if they continue to exist at all, wondering if you could confirm the outcome for that yet or not? Exciting times for the site as a whole anyway i hope the transition goes well and curious to see how it all plays out.
Yes UK and Ireland only same as now. Heads Up SnGs is tbd. I'll need to do some analysis on their popularity but I have a few months to nail down exactly what exclusive games we'll offer and I'll share on the forum what that looks like in advance.
Thanks for swift response and keeping us in the loop
Looking around the makeup of the iPoker network, I noticed that both Spain and Italy have their own independent skins. Given that this clearly shows iPoker have the ability to ringfence player pools, I hope this is a big part of the discussion when it comes to transitioning.
Will be a sad day but probably inevitable. @Tikay10 I really do hope you are kept on in some sort of role as you have been the standout reason that skypoker has survived so long and been the driving force behind this forum and community for many years. I have seen a few comments that the forum will be closing. Is that a definite and if so what is the rationale behind that decision?

I've skipped to the end so these might have been answered but reading 5 pages is tough.
I'll admit to some uncertainty from my end on this, mostly because of ipoker software in my experience being trash, use of huds (even though i have one i prefer without) and the very reasons I play on sky in the first place. Plus the higher likelyhood of bots.
The main reasons i play on sky is both 6 max and the bounty hunters. The format of the bounty hunters being 6 max, in sterling and a 75/25 split (which i havent seen on any other sites are strong selling points for me. Would this still continue?
I did see above there was going to be UK/IRE only which i find as a positive, but again I would like to request assurances of protection from bots. I understand Pokerstars have protection in this regard, but ipokers poor history worries me a little.
I want to support this move but I guess I'm asking to make sure that when im playing recreationally I'm playing in the best locations for myself.
Many thanks.... I do think this is a sad day all together on a person note. Sky has always felt more like a community poker site, where I've met many a friend. 865 back in the day and this forum used to buzz, and while its not got that same feel, I do believe its a sad day to see what this site has been and the potential its had become just another ipoker skin.
I know it takes a little effort to read the whole thread but it's better if you do as you get the full context of the questions & answers. It only takes a few minutes.
I see it's been a while since you've played here, so hopefully we'll soon see you back amongst us. Please give my best regards to Uncle Willie when you next see him.

Have done now.... was rushing between meetings when i heard.
Yeah i've played alot less since summer, finding balance between parent life, poker and other commitments been a hard task so only been the once I've played.
I will do, I rarely see him these days sadly, as you'll know yourself his line of work is very full on and since he moved its harder to see him as often as id like.
Playing both sky and ipoker i would say skypoker software is better. Its known sky crashes alot when u have too many tables open. Well whenever ive tried around 10 open on ipoker it lags real bad. Then the other issue ive faced is if i time out on an ipoker table it can lead to the software not poppin up next turn to act tables and u have to do it manually for a few minutes which is a nightmare if ur playing alot of tables.
When a new player signs up to sky and they wanna play a sng, will he choose the don to double his money or the twister to potentially 100x his stake? Or if he chooses to play a tournament, he choose the £200 gtd sky one or the $2000 gtd ipoker offering?
These are the questions that make me believe skypoker will just be another skin with little to non exclusive games because the new player or non pro will more than likely choose the current ipoker offering as they believe they will get more bang for their buck.
Now if they did ring fence it like mentioned above and no ipoker current offerings were available if u logged into skypoker then it would work but it doesnt seem like thats possible.
After settling and playing MTTs almost exclusively at Skypoker consistently over the last 5 or 6 years, I am unsure how to take this news.
Skypoker in its current form is ideal for my poker needs.
It has been a long time since I played much volume on any of the other sites, however some reasons why I kept playing at Sky, in which I would love to transfer with the move are;
- Smaller player pools - Shorter run times in tournaments - Playing against the same players - Generous promos where all types of players actually had a chance of winning something - Community spirit and the extra promos and comps on the forum - I was relatively profitable
From my understanding ipoker have very long late-registration periods. I think that would be my main concern. One thing that would stop me from continuing playing on the new SkyPoker would be having most of the MTTs run longer than 3 or 4 hours. Obviously, the headline games could last a longer than that as there is a much bigger reward at the end.
I would also welcome an official Sky Poker Discord (or similar) as a way to replace the forum. I'd also like to take this opportunity to show my thanks to @Tikay10 for his dedication in bossing the forum, and all the others over the years who have contributed, especially with volunteering their time for those extra forum comps.
I also believe iPoker's primary currency is in Euros. How would that work if Sky exclusive games were to be in GBP and ipoker-wide games in Euros? Personally, I'm not overly keen on potentially having a multi-currency setup if there are going be be a high number of conversions or if there is any loss to conversion rates etc.
Another thought that I feel may be worth considering is giving Sky players who are transferred over to ipoker a little extra to show appreciation to their loyalty and to add a little incentive to continue playing there. Such as a temporary or even permanent boost to whatever the loyalty/rakeback scheme may be in place.
I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Skypoker as a whole.

I assume as this hasn't been answered by James or Tikay, that its not something on the table. Shame, because most sky cash players wont like the thought of being in a wider playing pool.
I'm sure James and Tikay have been advocating with the suits over the years, but I feel a bit sad that Sky missed an open goal in Covid for a proper revitalisation. A lot of the pulls we agree on, short timebanks, quick structures, ringfenced pool, no HUDs... A proper lick of paint (or rebuild) on the software and some decent marketing... Sky should have been and still might be booming today. I became a low volume semi-shitreg during Covid, and stuck around I'm sure for similar reasons to many here... I remember posting a question about the client crashing when I came "back" to poker in lockdown. But how many flicked up Sky Poker, played for a couple hours and thought **** this that might have stuck around?
I've loved playing on Sky, I've loved the Discord community particularly during Covid (and occasionally lurking the forum), and I have loved the 2 SPTs I've been to, the most fun I've had playing live.
After these years of stagnation and limping, merging to iPoker is as good as it's gonna be. I'm hoping we get a reasonable schedule and our own games, I'm glad James hasn't been made redundant and is fighting our corner Hopefully there is a suit that's willing to do spend a bit of money marketing!
Disappointed I can't make either recently announced SPT but really hope I can join a stop later in the year, enjoy a few beers and donate to the prizepool.

I wonder if we'll see the eliminator freerolls ever again?
That was the best promo on sky
