with regards to moving up. if the tables don't look good then look for a nl4 table. or if only a couple are running at nl8 and loads nl4 then have a couple at each going. theres nothing wrong in having a mix of limits going at the same time.

Yeah this is exactly how I tackled that tricky period between £160 - £200, usually never going to be enough NL8 tables to 5-6 table so filling in with NL4 is a fine idea .
Overall though Don great work and just run like God for a few sessions and you should never have to worry about beating NL4 again.

I was planning on trying to stay at NL8 till i got to £250. This is just to add few extra buy ins as cash will start to get trickier i expect going up towards the double figure limits. Although i am open to advice on this.
Scotty im glad you said that as tbh i felt i wanted to have 6 tables during my first NL8 session and could only have 4 (mostly shortys too) and i was getting pretty bored, ended up playing the ps3 while grinding which meant i was missing out on some information. Which may have been vital.
This session started with a pretty speculative hand im still not sure on. Ive posted it in the clinic for further anaysis and opinions, as tbh it was one of those moments i wish i had a timebank and secondly even looking back im not 100% sure on the +Ev play. However that said i went on to have a good session. The first half hour was a grind but the rest was pretty much a doddle. Really starting to enjoy cash poker the way i do with mtts and thats just a big pro for me now.
Ive decided to go for £3 W/L pots as £1.50 seems to show loads. Although i havent looked at losing hands yet it was a good 2 pages of winning hands over £1.50

I want opinions on my bet size on the turn here. The opponent who folds the turn snapped my re-raise but tanked when the other guy shoved (crazy imo)

I think i have re-assured my desision to go to £250 before moving on up. Im less than 2 buy ins from the £200 recommended and ive only played 2 sessions. I really dont think thats enough game time at all to fully say im beating NL8. Im also making a few small adaptments within my cash game to cope with moving on up. Many have said that ill need to widen my range a little for NL10 and i started to add in high suited cons into my range for NL8. I think that will allow moving into NL10 much easier. Im also changing the way i play "pretty" hands in the blinds. A huge leak i had at NL4 was say 4 limpers and KQ. Im trying to plug that leak as i think as i develop that will really start to hurt me. Although i do expect less limping as i move on up, i still expect ill see it.

You will still see this a lot imo.
I think £250 before you move up is good plan, esp as you only been on nl8 for two days. Keep it up!
I had a go at NL8 when i hit $160 the first time and got coolered a few times in my first few sessions and dropped down again. Decided to get to $200 before trying again, just to give me a bit more of a cushion. I got coolered a few times since but they havent really hurt my BR and i am now healthily above $230 and taking the odd session at 10NL. I find NL10 easier to tell the truth. Maybe i have just hit a bit of run good.
As for playing NL4 with NL8 at the same time, its fine. I did/do it still on occasion now even. I only 4 table max and i find having 2xNL8 tables at the top and 2xNL4 tables at the bottom seems to seperate the two enough.
I am always a bit wary of how much of my BR is in play at one time. One bad session when your heads not on right can cost you if you have too much on the tables at once.

Drsharp i get what u mean lol. Ive just watched a nick weatherall seminar about tilt and other forms of mental psycoloy in poker as i really look to develop this part of my game. Most of it i knew but there was a little extra which has been great info so workking a lil at a time.
In relation to this hand. The opponent in the hand was on both my tables at the time. He was consistantly re-raiseing my opens so i felt AQ crushed his range. I went for a 4bet with plan to stack. When he flats i knew i cant fold any flop.

Wow I've been away from here for a while. Very nice increase in yoyur BR from your original £30 odd (I think it was that).
Congrats on your success. I'm taking a little break from cash while I'm doing my DYM diary but I've not left it for good, just fancied a break and some run bad.
