After my hols ive played for 2 days now, and showing an initial profit over mon/tues of £157.21. No longer feel a cash donk and been playing a lot of nl40/50 as well as hu sngs. Had one nice pot yesterday 3 way of £180 and my pocket aces stood up!! Also lost a buyin at nl40 to scotty77 when i flopped trip jacks and hit my fh on the turn, playing it coyly till the river when I put a value bet in to take the pot down then SLAM, scotty chucks all his chips in, the card that made my fh gave him quad 5s, sick ! Gonna play less turbo dyms as these are a big leak and I now dont think they are worth the effort because of the rake. My cash for points target is still 10k, as it brings a tidy bonus and perks in, but JJ rightly pointed out focus should be on profits rather than rakeback. Posted by ACEGOONER
Ok spun another 55 odd quid profit, would have been more if dohhhh/jj hadnt cajoled me into playing those hyper donking sng thingys. Total profit for the month £213.31. Havent played anywhere near the normal sng volume that I normally would but its early days yet.
I don't usually tell bad beat stories but this one's quite good.
I manage to get 80% of some guy's stack in with AA v KK on a 623 board, for him to spike a King on the turn. The very next hand I get 55 and UTG min raises. I haven't had time to top back up to 100bb, and I decided that I didn't have a big enough stack to make a call profitable, and not a small enough stack to make a shove profitable, so I folded. I would have flopped a set and rivered a full house. **** King on the turn.
I had a go of the new Sit n Dohh today, played 1, won 1 (and it was against Doh actually), so was about a fiver up from that. Then I did about 3 hours of 2 tabling 10NL and grrrr why do I always make a profit then towards the end on my session, I loosen up (sometimes just for like 30 seconds) and it always seems to be just long enough to lose a big chunk of my profit. So managed to turn a profit of about £10 into a loss of about £11
(But only £6 down for the day, thanks to Doh) BR 1st September: £226.83
Played in spells all day today and spent alot of time just watching tables and making notes etc.
Days play started bad with me making stupid calls etc to go about £200 down at one point but after just targeting certain players and leaving tables once they had gone i turned my initial loss into a good profit for the day.
Didnt play any tourneys today only played cash.
Days profit +£327.91
Months running total at present +£2025.23
Hours played in first week of month = 67 ( feels like 267 lol )
Got 3rd in TSP tonight (slightly worse than my 2nd last night) for £190, also cashed 9th in the 1k BH for a few quid. Overall made £170 profit tonight.
After a Bad day on day 7 i took a break and didnt play on the night, i still got a headache which is effecting my game now so only played for a bit, made a few good plays today after re reading DOHHHHs guide, made a bit of profit, normally i wouldnt be happy with 50p profit lol, but after yesterday i am very much so happy...Just hit 375 points for my first 30 days of being on the site which means another £5 is gonna randomly appear in the next few days aswell lol Starting BR £5.00

Just a thought here.... I don't wanna rain on your parade but you've made 375 points and in your first month you get £5 per 75 points which means you've earned £25 worth of bonus and your BR is only £24. Thus at the moment, you are a losing player at 4NL, you are down and have actually lost more at the cash tables that you deposited on the site... only through the Sky bonuses are you not bust.
hmmm let me get back to you on that one, there is some maths here that will prove that statement in correct it has to do with how much i have earned this month, when i started taking my poker seriously, however you are correct i have lost more then i started with back in august
In August i deposited big for recreational purposes, and after playing STT's out of my bank roll i lost so much of it, but i netted 184 points.
i had done something stupid and gambled it away on the roulette wheel and lost my whole lot, but then £5 randomly appeared on the 1st, this was obviously one of the £5 i had earned playing on the tables, anyways, i decided to take my poker game seriously and improve, so from the 1st i have played and earned 191 points
which is only £10 worth of bonus'
So since the 1st of september taking out any bonus' i earned this month i am still £9 in profit
Which means that from when i started to build my bank roll, i have been a winning player?
Ok but your profit so far is £19 and you've had £25 of bonuses.
I'm not having a go. But after the first month you won't get these bonuses any more (except very low Cash 4 Points at 4NL) and at that rate, it won't take long to go bust. I only point this out because looking at a few of your hands from the clinic, I think you need to tighten up your opening range and play much more straight forward...bet your big hands, check/fold when you don't hit.
another 3 hour session managed to find a couple of nice spots and get up £5.41 could have been higher if I hadn't spewed a bit on a draw on one table. oh well balance now up £12.03
no its perfectly fine im glad that you would warn me at something like this, and when you pointed it out i also thought to myself hmmmmmm thats interesting, and then thats when i thought about it a bit more xP
like if you look at sharkscope, it will say i am $100 down, so whats that about £70?
this is what happens when you play £10 HU with a bankroll of £100 lol, then i managed to get my money back playing roulette and so thought was easy till i lost every penny , never again, ill stick to a game of skill over the game of luck anyday
and my aim is eventually get good enough so that the money i lost wont really matter, and i know ive improved alot this month, i used to deposit and then lose it all within a week playing out of my bankroll, and chasing bonus' which is very bad xP
Well at long golly last the Dudeskin finds a little run good, not much but just a little. Good hands hit flops and got moniez. Still a wee way off being even but we're getting dere. Gotta plow on tonight and ride this wave as much as I can.
Tricky session got AA/KK so many times it was crazy but also got loads of walks/raise folds as well with them which was annoying but somehow managed to grind a small profit which gets me over £300 again.
In Response to Re: **** SEPTEMBER PROFIT CHALLENGE THREAD **** : Uneventful day today. Played the usual few Omaha MTTs and a deep stack (hand that crippeled me saw my KK lose to A9s late in first hour). Finished runner-up in one PLO8 tourney and that £16.50 win covered all my buy-ins. Also made it through today's survivor. Balance today: +£0.10 Balance month: -£21.44 Posted by Giant811
Uneventful week so far. Played the DTD and my usual mix of PLO and PLO8 MTTs, min-cashed about half of them, but with the low number of runners that sometimes doesn't even double the buy-in.
