Whatever you do, don't get your Manager sacked by hurling a cabbage in his direction.

Cheers Pad. As always I appreciate your kind words :)

I think that nl4 paper might need updating a tad!

Although it's still the easiest level of poker anywhere on the internet. And you can make a fair few bob down there too!

(despite the ridiculously high rake. AHEM)

    ---

    Run bad continues this morning.

    Only lost £13.50 though.

    Game feels in good shape.

Its funny how when you feel confident everyone else (or most others) seem really bad players. Even the regs.

When you don't they feel like they're world beaters.

Weird mental game is poker, never known owt like it.

    ---

Really busy day today, haven't much time to waffle.

Might donk about for an hour with a beer later before drinks out, but otherwise I probably wont be back on the felt again until monday.

Hangover anticipated tomorrow, and Bridlington half marathon on Sunday. Hamstrings permitting!

Have a great weekend all x

    Not quite mate. :'(

    I'll get em one day.

It was another big PB though. 6 minutes off last week, and almost 20 minutes off in the last 8 days.

That last 3 miles would challenge my 5k PB! :open_mouth:

I set off to just treat it as a fun run, because my preperation was bad again (drunk Friday, 3 hours sleep Saturday night) and my hamstrings felt tight.

But that lasted all of 3 minutes.

    I couldn't resist.

I dont see any point in plodding round.

I'm too competitive. Not with others (130th out of 431) but with myself.

"On the positives " that race yesterday was 25 months after the first one I did.(where many of the regulars on this thread sponsored me, raising money for an animal sanctuary close to my heart <3 )

And I was over 50 minutes faster yesterday than I was in the first one.

So the old me could set off running while the new me sits and watches the first half of United v Newcastle, then the new me could casually lace up, jog round at 90% and catch the old me on the line.

Don't wanna watch the 2nd half anyway.

    ---

Poker got back on track today.

After a flying start, things had stuttered towards the end of last week.

I played an hour before I went out friday night and won 19 pounds.

    Few hours this morning, +£82

    Overall we're at + £297.98 / £1,000

With a wee bit of rakeback to come later today.

    ---

Maybe back tonight, but probably not.

GL all on the grind this week

    Good work JJ. Good perspective this, too;

    92% to hold for a £100 pot @ 30nl last 5 mins of a 5 hour session

    f***!

    Good en again though.

I played mostly on another site this morning, because Team Reg Business Fun Player all had a lie in.

I felt like Reuben Loftus Cheek.

    I couldn't get a game.

    ---

    + £70.79 on there

    +£27.86 on sky poker

    +£14.48 rakeback hit yesterday

    Total = £411.11 / £1,000

Just have to fade those 2 aces on't river and we're above half way.

Still, making good progress and just about on course, despite very low volume.

That will have to change, because the bad sessions will come.

As usual, i'll say I might be back tonight, but I probably wont be.

    I'm alright, thanks.

I feel a whole lot better than I did a month ago.

I think there's always going to be periods of low mood for me.

I don't deal with setbacks very well. I need to learn to cope with things better.

Overly sensitive, low self esteem/confidence and all that malarkey.

Having support networks (of which this thread is one) set up will help with that, for sure.

I've got a bad habit of isolating myself, and pushing people away. In the past, as you know that's been taken to real extremes.

    But things are going okay.

Plotting my way through the week like a golfer navigating a tricky course, sometimes I wake up and go out all guns blazing. Attacking every hole with the driver and firing at pins.

Other times I've got to just take my medicine, go into survival mode, and klunk it round in 2 over to stay in the game.

And then there's days when I hit my first tee shot in the water, snap my club in half kick my bag down, toss the round off and go back to bed.

    DNF.

I've got 17,00 posts on here, maybe 15k of them were made when I was an alcoholic, agoraphobic, depressed and obese. I never let on to anyone that anything was wrong, (despite talking to many on a daily basis) although I'm sure many worked it out.

It was on here, around 2,000 posts or so ago that I first started opening up about things, and my life has improved immeasurably ever since.

I think if I hadn't done so, it's highly unlikely id be here.

    Deep.

I didn,t work it out. We hide addictions well. I was doing my NL4 diary for a cpl of years about the same time.

Steered away from personal life tho. Felt like i would be putting a downer on it and was far to embarrassed to admit all my winnings were going on heroin. Think i mentioned it late on as i knew i was going to rehab for 6 months with no internet access.

Nearly 3 years clean tho and i,ve got a lovely missus and 9 week old little boy and so much to live for.

    Keep up the diary

Just wanted to reply before I started playing poker.

    Mate, thats amazing.

Not just to sort yourself out, and get yourself right. But to move on from your past life, and form new relationships and a new life.

That's the part im really struggling with, I know how tough it is.

    Inspirational stuff Paul, massive respect!

By the way, I'm not really up to speed (pardon the pun) on the price of drugs.

But your winrate must've been pretty da mn high (sigh, did it again) at nl4 if it was paying for that!

Congratulations on the birth of your son. <3

So. yesterday apparently was world mental health day.

    I had a shocker.

After the hours poker, I walked the dogs for an hour.

Then I hit a wall, despite a full unbroken 8 hours sleep overnight, I passed out and slept 11am-3.30pm.

I did manage to drag myself to the gym afterwards.

I put my bag in my locker.

I took the padlock out of the bag.

    I locked my locker.

    I worked out.

I finish, and I go back to my locker to re-gather my stuff.

Only to realise I've left the key to my padlock, in my bag.

    doh.

    Thoroughly fed up last night.

    ----

Better today, woke up and got straight on it.

    Full 7 hour grind 7.30am - 2.30pm.

    Very unlike me !

Kicked some **** as well (also very unlike me)

    + £32 on un-named site.

    + £227.45 on skypoker.com

    = + £259.45 overall

Means we are at +£751 for the month so far.

    Well chuffed wi that.

Now to go and find something else to do with the rest of the day.

    Not alot about tbh.

England Under 21s playing up the road at Chesterfield. Tenner in.

Maybe, but doesn't really grab me.

I'll ask again, anyone fancy a beer? :D

    Back in the morning !

I'd like to have a beer with you JJ, but there's a bit of a snag - I'm teetotal.

Do you never play Online in the evening's, & if not, why not, if it's not a rude or too personal question?

    Morning TK.

    Sometimes,

In August I reached priority status on here, for the first time ever.

It's a tad misleading, as we had 3 weekends of double points I believe and as it was a little challenge I'd set myself to make the 10k points required, I figured working smart beats working hard, so I just played 10 hour days on each of the 2x points days.

Which often included long evening sessions.

Where I absolutely god moded against the legend that is DTM over and over again in 3bet pots.

Idk if he reads this, but I just kept flopping it every single time against him, for such an insanely long sample of hands.

    I couldn't miss.

Since then, no I don't really play evening sessions.

I just often get too tired by that point in the day.

Although I don't really help myself, because I don't try. Once the tea-time slot (golf/running/gym) is done, I just have a bath and lay on the bed for a few hours doing nothing before falling asleep.

Definitely an area I need to improve, but probably wont. Coz I can't be bothered.

I'd hoped this challenge might help get my R's off the bed and on to the computer, but so far it's been plain sailing I haven't needed to.

In saying that, I've just ensured this morning is going to be a 10 buyin downswing.

    Lets see..................

    .

It's very odd how that happens from time t time, sometimes in our favour, sometimes against us.

It's not hard to see why Team It's Rigged sometimes get the wrong idea.

Plans for the weekend? I really think you should ty to fill your Diary with stuff - it can only help. (Real life Diary, not this one).

I understand what you're saying TK, and it's exactly what a close friend, and what my therapist has said.

    I have to plan things.

But it's difficult when you get very little and often no pleasure in doing things.

The last 4 sundays I've had races, which have been great. I always look forward to them.

This week I'm giving the body a rest, (back for the Isle of Axholme half mara on the 21st) so it's empty.

The last few Fridays I've gone out for a beer, but nothing planned this week.

I've re-connected with a few old friends, but they're all married or have children now so it's not like it used to be. We have to book up a social occasion a month or so in advance.

I did make new friends over in Bridlington with the Ex missus.

But that's all over now, so back at square one.

    Absolutely nothing planned.

And it's a bl00dy international weekend too. zzzzz

Donny are away at Rochdale, so nothing doing there. Although I have been to Spotland before on a freezing Tuesday night after school. (0-0)

The beast, Adebayo Akinfenwa missed a sitter in stoppage time for us. :(

    I wont be rushing back!

    -----

4 hours on the poker this morning.

Real struggle on and off the table.

Woke up feeling exhausted again, it's been a bad week in that regard.

It'll be a case of dinner, and back to bed this afternoon.

The games were so much more difficult today, i don't know if all the super genius's at 30nl are reading this diary

    And saw yesterdays results.

And thought "well if that dohhhhhhhnkey can do it, it must be easy"

    It is, to be fair.

    + £36.59

Almost at 800 for the month.

    Back tomorrow.

Big session again today, nudging 7 hours. Took on some tables I wouldn't normally play, and even sat a little at 25pence 50pence.

I was abit distracted throughout, but meh. Not bothered.

Getting away with it at the moment

    + £118.50

+ £906 overall with some rakeback to come.

    Nearly there.

    Back tomorrow.
